"I saw this imprint on Elysia."
"I've seen this before." Lucinda looked at the reflection Linda was showing her.
Lucinda walked to her large bookshelf and took out a large gothic book. One could tell it was created centuries ago. She opened the book and Linda walked to her side.
The book was written in witches language, unlike most of the other books. Lucinda read through each page slowly and carefully.
"Can't you just check it with magic?" Linda asked impatiently.
"Magic on Grimoires are like digging a grave for yourself and those near the area you are." Lucinda replied, still focused on the book before her. She slowly turned the brown pages. "I don't think it's in this one."
"So we'll have to look for it in all the Grimoires in this whole room? Are you nuts?" Linda frowned, pointing at the other part of the room.
The entire room and tower was filled with books. The only place available was the stairs leading to the upper part of the tower, where two large and long tables stood. One was for reading while the other was for potions as it was filled with different labelled flasks. A large four-poster bed stood between the available space.
"Is there any problem there? The mark is in a Grimoire and I have specified places for each types of books. The Grimoires are up there." Lucinda pointed towards the roof where the bookshelf stopped. Linda could see different large books with different color of covers.
"Then get them already, Lucinda. This is nothing to act cold about. Her life depends on it." Linda yelled.
"Her life doesn't depend on it. It is trouble, but not one we can't handle." Lucinda frowned as she started to levitate, moving towards the books she had pointed to.
"So you prefer her being in danger before you doing something?" Linda frowned.
"You know I don't like seeing her, Linda. I'm only protecting her because I have to. If I get close to her, I might make a mistake like the last time. You know she never should have existed if I didn't take it too far back then, and I was used. I couldn't use my powers to hold myself from being pregnant for two good years, but her power is stronger than mine, that's why I had no choice but to have her. She didn't lessen my curse, she just added to it." Lucinda replied, dropping two Grimoires on the table.
"You have to let go of that Lucinda. How many years would you keep lying to yourself that you don't love her? She is your daughter, Lucinda. You carried her in your womb for nine….sorry two years and nine months if I know how you did it I would have been glad to break it since then. You shouldn't keep lying to yourself, Lucinda." Linda sighed.
"A time will come I won't be able to hold her back. She showed me that power in her when I tried to prevent her from being given birth to. I had no other choice but to seal in her magic. I am using all my whole to hold her magic, create a barrier to keep them out and protecting her at the same time. You know I won't be able to do anything to protect her once her power is not held. Even her powers before her awakening are more powerful than mine." Lucinda sighed, sitting down and opening the Grimoire before her.
"All these you're doing is a way to show your love Lucinda. You both don't accept it as love, but it's love." Linda tried to convince her, but it didn't work.
"I'm only doing this because if they or he gets her and her power awakens they would take all her powers away and use it against the world. The entire world would be plunged into chaos, darkness, and disorder. I can never let that happen because I was cursed to shoulder some responsibility to help the world be in order. My curse might be broken if I do all these, and I'll be able to leave this life. You don't know how hard it is to live for over three thousand years. You just lived for two thousand, and you see the most of the life, so you won't see living eternally a curse." Lucinda muttered.
"Lucinda." Linda sighed, pinching the area between her eyebrows. "Still, you can't deny you love her. Don't you know you are making her go through the same thing you went through? The same thing we went through? She's been feared by those outside because they think she is a bad person. Remember, the same thing happened to us. You should at least tell her the reason you're doing this. You didn't want her to come to life because you don't want her to suffer, and you didn't have the heart to get rid of her. You love her, Lucinda."
"Let's close that chapter." Lucinda frowned and flipped the page of the book before her. "Oh no."
"What's it?" Linda rushed to her and read the content of the page. It had an illustration of the same inscription on Elysia's back. "This is trouble. Big trouble."
Elysia woke up after a long nap. She could finally not feel her head spinning again. She got out of be and walked to the window, and she was welcomed by the sight of the pouring rain.
"Wow." Elysia smiled, looking at the rain. "Hey, I felt the rain in the woods. I finally felt a rain drop on my skin in forever."
Her black nails caught her attention, and she looked at them with interest. The black nails beautified her tiny fingers more. She turned to her palm, looking at the line which seemed to have changed than the last time she saw it. "That's odd."
"What's odd?" She heard Linda's voice.
"My palm's pattern changed." Elysia held up her hands and Linda rushed to her side to see it. "I look at my palm every day, and they aren't like this."
"It's nothing to worry about." Linda faked a smile, but on the inside she was disturbed. Was her destiny rewritten? That's clearly impossible. "So I wanted to ask if you need another pet."
Twilight looked up at Linda with a deadly glare from where he stood. Linda laughed and sighed. "She's an owl, just like Twilight. I was thinking they would be great together since she's the same specie with Twilight."
"Sure. If it'll make Twilight happy to have someone else with him." Elysia looked at her pet, who was still giving Linda a death glare.
"Then she's here." An owl flew in through the window and landed in Linda's shoulders. She shook, making the water on her wash off.
"Wow, she's beautiful." Elysia gasped, collecting the owl from Linda. "I'll name her Dawn. Come over here, Twilight."
Twilight finally took his eyes off Linda and looked at the owl with Elysia. He looked stunned rather than surprised, making him look back at Linda who gave him a look saying 'You can thank me later.'
"Isn't she beautiful." Elysia said dreamily.
Linda looked at the little girl, sounding happy with her new pet. She used her magic to see Elysia's face and a little smile appeared on her lips.
She knew she said Elysia was cold like her mother, but the truth was Elysia was cold like her father. If not because of Lucinda situation, she wouldn't be acting all cold which Linda knew it was also because of the situation Elysia was in that's the reason she acts cold too.
Elysia was too busy mesmerized by Dawn to notice Twilight was busy looking at the other owl with disbelief. It was as if they had met before and not just met, spent lots of time together.
"You can stop staring and welcome her Twilight." Linda smirked, earning a hard glare from Twilight and Dawn.
"Thanks aunt Linda." Elysia smiled and Linda looked outside after nodding, seeing the day getting darker.
"You should eat something. You haven't eaten since you woke up." Linda said, and a tray of food appeared.
"Thank you." Elysia smiled.
Later at night, when Elysia was sleeping peacefully, her two pets were awake. Twilight was the first to fly to the floor and turn into a young man.
"Daria." He said and Dawn flew to the floor turning into a young lady.
"It's nice to see you again after all these years Theo. You look quite better than I remembered!" She smiled.
The moon shone on her golden hair and the wind lifted it, making her look like an angel. Her blue eyes were just as beautiful as the sea. Her pointed nose was the perfect type for her young face, and her tiny lips added to her beauty.
"You had Linda bring you, didn't you?" He asked.
"No, she sent for me. They need my help on protecting Elysia. Lucinda is exhausting her magic on protecting her and sealing her magic. And Adonia was able to hold your powers down when she captured you and took over Elysia the other day, she said I would be of help protecting her. You know that's our top priority now." Daria explained and Theo nodded.
"Why did you leave?" Theo asked and Daria's expression changed, knowing where this was leading to.
"Theo, I told you I didn't have any choice back then. If I did, I would have stayed back with you. It was better the way we weren't together because who knows what would have happened. Please, let's focus on protecting Elysia and clearing out the minor enemies before we're ready to face her father." Daria sighed and Theo just nodded.
