Episode 9: Unexpected Date 2

"Go now, I'll start preparing."

We were pushed outside of their home.

"Jeez, sis. What are we going to do now?"

"Here, take this," the woman said while handing out money. "Go eat somewhere."

And bam! The door closed. We were both staring at the hallway with a blank face.

"Why did we have to leave again?" I asked while we both walked towards the stairs.

"Sis said that they're about to have some fun?" She scratched her head. "Something along those lines."

Surprisingly, she managed to change dress by simply looking out for a hoodie in her drawer. She also picked up shades , sunglasses and her usual trademark red cap.

"So what do we do now?" I asked.

"Actually, I remember a coffee shop built recently around the area."

"A coffee shop? Never been into one."

"Yeah, same!" We finally reached the end of the stairs. "I guess we have to experience it for the first time."

We left the building swiftly. Noise from the vehicles outside started to resurface. Pollution kicks in too.

"Speaking of coffee, are you consuming one?" she asked.

"Have tasted once, yes." We continued to walk. "But other than that, I don't."

"Must have been a bad experience for you, huh?"

"It's not actually, but it doesn't cross into my mind to drink one." I started to think.

"Are you sure that that's the only reason you don't drink it?"

"Yeah, what could be any reason for-"

"Maybe you suck at handling bitter things?"

I choked; cleared my throat. Just when did she become a teaser. Oh, it's from the very start. Silly me.

"What are you talking-"

"That won't work on me~" she said playfully.

"Stop being-"

"We'll test it out when we get there."

"Yeah, I agree."

As we were walking, she suddenly grabbed onto my arms. I then looked at her where she seemed slightly shocked about someone in front of us. I glanced in front only to see a woman wearing ripped jeans, an open jersey jacket, and a striped t-shirt hiding beneath it.

"Hey, Chris-" she said while holding out the last word. "-tine."

"Oh, it's you!" said Christine in a slightly deep voice. "How's your sis? She's at home isn't?"

"Yeah, she does."

"Ha ha." Christine took a glance at me and instantly reverted her attention to her. "Sorry about intruding but I'm sure I informed her a day earlier, right?"

"Heh, my usual sister."

"Hah, Ophelia. Such a klutz." Christine then scratched her head. "Well anyways, it won't be too long. Don't worry."

"Yeah," she replied. "Good luck having fun." She grinned.

After the conversation, we went our separate ways. I then started to get curious.

"Earlier, your sister said 'he', didn't she?" I asked. "Does it mean she prefers it that way?"

"Yeah, correct."

"I guess the world has some adjusting needs to do."
