They continued gathering clues as the sunset turned to night. The two moons shone down on the planet, granting enough light in the midst of darkness.
When it turned midnight, they had finished collecting all the clues and evidence, along with collecting the bodies that were arranged for transport.
It was at this moment when three armored trucks entered the street of the massacre, stopping right before Rhys.
Niamh stepped out with the other ASP members, who began transporting the bodies to the newly arrived vehicles.
"Niamh," Rhys called out to Niamh, who was standing near him.
"Yes, Captain?" Niamh asked with curiosity all over her face.
"What do you think about this case? In terms of profiling, you're an expert. Based on what we've seen thus far, describe the culprit in detail."
Niamh tensed up a bit and clenched her fist. She was a little nervous. After taking a few breaths, she regained her composure and looked at Rhys straight in the eye.
"We don't have any information as to who did it, and there's no CCTV footage either. We also don't know the culprit's motives. What we do have is that the culprit was tier two in ice magic. As for anything else, we don't have anything. The culprit was knowledgeable about the positions of the cameras and used the panicked crowd to escape the scene without suspicion." Niamh spoke in a single breath, her sentences coming out as she memorized them.
Unaware individuals may have even assumed that she had been ready to respond to this question all along after seeing how she answered.
"It'll be difficult to find the culprit with little to no evidence, but the culprit will commit another murder either on this scale or higher. So we must find the culprit."
"As for the culprits' motives, I'm unsure. There wasn't anything that could've caused them to commit it. It seems this massacre was caused by no motive other than to slaughter citizens."
Niamh started describing how she felt the culprit's psyche worked and many other factors she could think of. Even though she had been talking in her usual tone, each of her words seemed to bear a great weight, leaving chills that went down their backs. This created the picture of a scary, bloodthirsty monster in their minds.
Her eyes stayed fixated on Rhys, who had an expressionless face. He was oblivious to the expressions the others were given, keeping his focus directly on Niamh's words.
Niamh continued her description with small breaths in between, as if someone was going to take away her chance to speak.
In the midst of Niamh's breath break, one of the men listening to the profiling asked, "So the culprit is most likely a monster who escaped from a dungeon?"
"Yes, the culprit is most likely a monster who has escaped from a nearby dungeon, which explains the lack of motive. Another clue that tells us that the culprit is a monster is that if a human had cast a spell of this caliber, then they would've been dry of mana and unable to move for the next few hours, but the culprit was able to not only move, but escape the scene without trouble afterwards." Niamh calmly answered, a slight smile forming on her face.
"If it was indeed a monster, shouldn't it have been spotted by the citizens, causing massive panic before the massacre?" He asked I'm confused.
"No, the culprit either looks human, either completely or with some monster features, or they can shapeshift into a human. I believe it is either they look entirely human or they can shapeshift into a human, as if they had monster features, it would still cause panic on a lower scale." Niamh finished her profiling, as a great smile formed on her rosy cheeks.
With the profiling finished, Rhys took over and said, "Alright, everyone return to the base and let's see if we can find anything through the evidence we've gathered."
"Yes, captain." Everyone answered.
They split up, each doing their own tasks as quickly as possible, as they wanted to catch and kill the monster who caused all of this.
Meanwhile, the monster they were searching for had been watching them carefully, making sure she wasn't seen, but she did hear some of their confrontations, especially the profiling.
"Why did they have to call me a mindless monster? That is, I don't want to do this, but I am forced to. They're humans who would never understand. " Aurora muttered, hugging her knees as she leaned against the wall beneath the window that faced the street of the massacre. "I miss Amia. If only she was here, then everything would have been better."
She pouted, alone, missing Amia, followed by Asmodieus, but no matter how much she missed them, they weren't coming. While this happened, the ASP finished up, entered their vehicles, and left the street, returning back to their base.
