Unexplainable Feeling

Ivy ate breakfast with the couple. She ate a whole two plates of food.

Ren puts down Ezra and went back to the table to talk to Ivy again.

Mar gave them some tea and told the ladies that he will leave to hunt. Maybe he doesn't want to hear anything about Noah so he went.

When Mar went out, Ivy started talking again. "Can you tell me now what happens? And who is that bird guy that Agni is talking about?"

"Oh, Agni is fast huh. Well, he is Noah. He is the one who saved me when I fell off the cliff."

"So? Tell me, come on, don't leave me hanging." Ivy said, hurrying Ren to speak.

"As I told Mar, he saved me and bring me to their cave. He thought that maybe you guys will see him as an enemy so he didn't bring me back there at the top of the mountain. When I woke up, he fed me and gave me a tour of the cave where they live in. Then I promised him that, in the future, he can find me and ask me for anything, as my way of saying thank you. I owe him my life after all."

Ivy facepalms, "Oh goddess Luna, what have you done?"

"Yeah, I already know what you are going to say. Mar already told me."

"Then, what now? Do you have any plans?"

"Nope, not really," Ren said calmly.

"What does chief say about that guy?"

"He said that Noah will ask me to be his mate."

"Wow, did he say that? So what do you think? Will you accept him or what?"

Ren began to look serious. She didn't know what to do with Noah. All she knows is that Noah is alone with only a few of his kin left in the cave. She can't stop thinking about him.

Ivy notices her, "Do you like him?"

Ren's face turns red, "What? No. What are you talking about?"

"Because you have been quiet for a long time. It seems to me that you are thinking about that bird guy. Tell me, is he handsome?" Ivy said jokingly.

Ren smiled, "Well, yeah, he is handsome." Then turns into a serious face, "But that doesn't matter. I already have a mate and a son too."

"What's wrong if you already have a mate and a son? I don't get it. It's not like you promise the chief that he will be the only mate, you will have, are you?"

Ivy wouldn't understand that for Ren, it is not normal to have more than one husband in her world.

"No, I didn't promise him that he will be the only mate I will have. Because I didn't think that it was necessary. I never imagined myself having more than one mate. All this time, I was thinking that having him has been already enough."

Ivy faced Ren and looked at her in the eye. "Then why do you look like you're having second thoughts now?"

Ren got shocked hearing those words. "Does she really have second thoughts about having another mate? Does she look like that? How does Mar feel seeing her like that?" She thought to herself.

"There you go again, looking serious and all. Tell me honestly, how do you feel about the bird guy anyway? Do you hate him or like him?"

Ren looks at Ezra, who is playing with the wooden toy that Mar made. "I never really thought about it so much. I don't hate him. He is also kind and gentle like Mar. A little bit playful and funny. He takes good care of me when I was with him. He also looks so sad and lonely. It makes me want to comfort him, you know?"

"Have you ever thought that maybe you just pity the guy because he is sad and lonely?"

Ren stopped for a moment and think. "No, I don't pity him. I only pity those kids in the orphanage where I used to live. I'm not sure what I feel about him. But I know it's not pity."
