Chapter five

Alexander Le Blank walked up to the two gorgeous ladies with confidence. He wore a white suit that complimented his imposing aura.

As Serena gazed at him approaching her, she swore not to make the same mistake again and fall for his lies. His beautiful blue eyes held nothing but deceit in them.

His love and affection were all fake. It was not her he loved but her fortune and wealth, her heart ached in pain. With all the memories of how he treated her and abused her physically and mentally.

He has made her life a living nightmare after getting his hands on her wealth. Flaunting his mistress, her so-called best friend in front of her like she was a precious jewel and making her feel less of a woman and losing confidence in herself.

He broke her every day. He was merciless and only cared about himself, she was nothing but a toy to him. One that promised him wealth and luxury and once he got the things he wanted, she became useless.

"We should break up," she uttered the moment he stopped in front of her. "No, this is me telling you that we are officially over," she added surprising both her best friend and her boyfriend.

She had turned eighteen and her eyes were open to the truth. She had only two goals in life. Get revenge for all that she had gone through and shamelessly woe the only man who ever loved her and find happiness with him.

The heavens had given her a second chance and there was no way that she was going to waste it.

"What?!" Marga and Alexander asked in unison.

Serena looked from her friend to her ex-boyfriend. Coming to think of it, they were perfect for each other but even then. She was not going to let them be happy in this life if it was the last thing she did.

The memory of the two of them laughing on top of her dying self was formerly arched into her heart, mind, and soul and for that, they were going to pay.

In her court where she was the judge, she found them guilty of a lot of things and was yet to pass her judgment but the day she would they would be left helpless and defenseless as she was.

"What do you mean what? Did the two of you not understand what I just said, I am breaking up with you," she said clearly for both of them to understand.

"But why baby?" Alexander questioned. He looked shaken by her sudden decision that came out of nowhere.

Marga was so shocked that she couldn't react. Her friend had decided to dump Alex without even consulting her when she didn't even wear lipstick without asking her advice.

Serena always asked her opinion on everything she did. So it made no sense to her why the girl she knew suddenly changed. It was as though she was no longer the girl she could control.

"How can you break up with me without a reason. I haven't done anything wrong to you and we love each other dearly so I don't accept this," Alexander said clinging to her.

"I don't love you anymore," Serena said to him. After everything that he put her through. It was a given that her heart had grown cold.

His eyes moistened with tears. He looked sad from her words and his lips trembled greatly. In the past, just seeing him like that would have melted her anger and made her forgive him for everything.

She could never see him in pain. But now, she knew better, that look was as fake as everything about him and she could care less.

"You don't mean that. We spoke just yesterday and you told me that you loved me to the moon and back," Alex started shedding tears.

'Your crocodile tears won't work on me ever again,' Serena thought.

"Yes Sese, you love Alex. So where is this coming from?" Marga asked her. Serena smiled, the lover jumping to save Alex was an icing to the cake called reality that she was forced to eat.

"How do you know what is in my heart?" Serena asked Marga. Her tone was flat and calm without any emotion, she was neither angered nor sad.

"Well, you told me how you feel about Alex. You love him a lot and together you are a power couple," she informed her.

Serena nodded her head in understanding. "Since I told you I love him you believed it. Now I am telling you that I don't love him, believe me too," she added.

Alexander opened his mouth to speak when she raised her hand to stop him. She removed her friend's hand from her arm and walked away from them. They were toxic and she feared they would ruin her mood for the party.

In her beautiful lime-colored shoulder flower-patterned gown, she walked into the room. Her hair was left to lay on her back, with a few braids on the front with flowers on them.

She had on a butterfly jewelry set, from her earrings to her necklace. And comfortable flat shoes for the night.

All eyes were on her when she walked into the room. Her round amber eyes glowed seeing how amazing her party was. Her this rosy lips adorned a beautiful smile.

Spotting the man from the black sports car, she straighten her dress and walked in his direction. She took careful steps not to seem too rushed and appear desperate to meet him which she was.

Soon she arrived next to him. He stood with other guests having a conversation and she wished for nothing more than for him to talk to her.

He was someone who held her in high regard. Love her from a distance even though she never looked in his direction. Someone who proved to understand her value more than she understood it herself.

"Damian," she uttered his name nervously. The man averted his gaze from the guests to her. When their eyes met they both held the eyes of the other.
