Serena found Jax in homeroom. The young man laid his head in his arms on the desk. She walked quietly towards him, she stopped before him, and she raised her hand to wake him up.

She stopped midway, from the side of his eyes. She saw tears falling down his eyes. For some reason seeing him in that condition broke her heart.

She told herself that it was because she valued him as a friend and that was the reason that she felt like that. She didn't wake him up.

Serena went away without talking to him. She found Maya waiting for her by the door. "You made him cry. I will make you scream," she let out and walked around Maya.

Maya remained rooted in her spot. She hadn't followed Serena into the classroom out of fear of what Jax might say if he saw her. But even without being there, the man still told lies to Serena.
