After hearing her best friend laugh in cruel happiness, Eve felt like she couldn't breathe anymore. Her eyelids were closed-shut, yet much to everyone's surprise, her heart still beat loud and clear. She still had a lot of willpower left inside of her.
Hearing two-three cars exiting the church, she tried to open her eyes. She tried her best to see past her heavy eyelids until she could barely see what was in front of her. Although her entire body gave up, the little beats in her heart pumps didn't give up on her.
Eve slowly started crawling her way to the main gate of the church. Her thoughts were occupied by how her brother and father died for her sake. She wanted to make it worth. So, she had to survive. She crawled over 50m, her blood smudging all over the ground, leaving behind the evidence of where she started crawling from. If her enemies saw it, they would kill her ruthlessly, but she had to take the risk. Dust particles got stuck in her dress and face. She didn't look like the beautiful Eve that was standing in front of people at the wedding anymore.
Seeing people arrive one by one in front of her, her shaky voice came out in a whisper. "H-help m-me… C-Can s-s-someone.." dust rose from her breath.
She felt as if she could no longer keep up with everything. It all felt heavy and she wanted everything to stop. The pain, the rage, the fury… Everything. After taking a heavy breath, she gave up. She gave up once and for all. The pain started to be subsidized little by little.
"Hey hey hey, c'mon open your eyes!"
She heard a distant voice. Rough yet soothing. A voice that was so new yet felt like she could live her entire life again, it gave her a glam of hope.
"I-I…" Evelyn's dry lips moved, seeing that he knew she was alive. She slightly opened her eyes and met with the most beautiful eyes she has ever seen. The electric blue eyes of the young man stunned Evelyn even in the most painful situation.
"It's okay, I will take you to the hospital soon, please don't go away, hang in there," He started saying different soothing words to keep her alive. With her vision, his voice slowly faded away.

Evelyn was unconscious, but her ears were awake. She felt as if she was moving inside a vehicle. An ambulance, she assumed. Everything she heard was clear. It was said that if a person dies, hearing is the last sense to go. Am I dying? She wondered to herself. The feeling of numbness slowly gobbled her up.
"Do you know her, sir?" She heard the voice of a young woman, whom Eve predicted to be a nurse.
He was completely lost in his thoughts, wondering what would happen to this young woman.
"Sir?" the nurse asked again.
"Sorry?" he shook his head. His hands were trembling. This is not the time to freak out yourself, he reminded himself.
"I was asking if you know her?"
"I don't know her. She was in front of the church, covered in blood. Can we please hurry up? I don't want her to die." his hands trembled more. The young man was in tears. She looked at her mid-20s; it was a very young age for her to die.
"Calm down, he is driving at the maximum speed. We will make it on time. Don't cry, be strong."
After a few turns left and right in the road, they reached the hospital and she was taken to the emergency ward immediately.
Every Sunday, Elijah Shariq would visit the church with his grandmother as she was a Christian. He thought he would have a pleasant time with his grandma like other days, but met a young lady drenched in blood.
Although it was traumatizing for someone inexperienced as Elijah, he had no choice but to call the ambulance and try his best to save her.
"Hello, grandma"
"She is inside. I don't know what to do right now,"
"Yes, with doctors,"
"Okay, should I just leave then?"
"Okay, take care."
"Yeah, I am alright don't worry, bye."
He left, giving his number to the reception in case the girl inside wanted any information, he left the hospital with a shaky mind. He thought that his silent prayers should reach her one way or another.

On the inside of the ward, doctors and assistants were trying their best to keep her alive. She had already lost a lot of blood. None of them were sure of the possibility of her going out of the hospital alive. They were experienced in surgeries related to bullets, knives, and sharp edges thanks to all the mafia practices that had been going on in the city for quite a while now.
With experience, the chief doctor who started doing the surgery told the other staff she won't survive, so don't try hard.
Eve woke up from the hospital bed with no wounds and pain. She stood up and looked around, finding her body was still sleeping on the bed. Looking at her hands, she saw right through them. She was nearly invisible and felt no pain in her body. A plain white dress had replaced the dress, which was covered in her and her brother's blood.
"Where am I? Why can I see another me in bed?" She asked a bit loudly. She was scared. Was she dead? What happened?
Before even figuring out what was going on, her entire life was streaming like a movie in front of her eyes.
The way she hated her family for not being able to maintain her so-called 'peace'. And how she always screamed and yelled at them for not knowing and understanding what she was trying to say and do. But actually, it was she who was not understanding. They were just trying to protect her from any harm.
She felt guilty the most when she saw how hard they tried, but didn't show Eve the struggle, so she won't be worried. Seeing the image of her dad crying for not being a good parent in front of her mom's picture broke her.
If only she could go back in time and apologize and give back all the love and care they deserved. But it was too late and everything was over. Her eyes dampened and tears got collected.
Nevertheless, time passed by. Everything she was seeing was just part of her memory. Now in front of her appeared the time when she fell in love with a monster, a traitor, and a douche bag. The biggest mistake of her life. The happiness in her eyes was prominent considering how she was with her parents.
She felt ashamed. The times passed by right in front of her eyes and now she realized how fake her best friend and boyfriend seemed. They were faking it all the way along and she was too dumb and desperate for love to actually understand anything that has been going right in front of her own eyes.
"Why…. Why was I like that?!" she shouted, knowing no one can hear while pulling her hair. "I will trust no one!!" she screamed. Her blood was raging from inside. She hated that bastard and that bitch and, more than that, she hated herself for being such a fool.
"Now, what are the things you regret? Darling," he chuckled.
Evelyn jumped at the voice. Turning around, she saw a man in an extremely expensive suit who is devilishly handsome for her own good looking down at her. He was a foot or two taller than her, yet he looked surreal.
"And you are?" she was confused. He looked like someone who was created by both hell and heaven.
"Bingo!" he smiled. He responded as if he could read her thoughts. "I'm not a human. And, if I was, you wouldn't be seeing me right here. Your days are over."
'Can he read my thoughts?'
"Oh sure I can," he bopped her nose. Despite his looks, he had a bubbly personality. "Now, where you belong depends on your answer, so think carefully." He asked, caressing his short stubble, which looked good on him. "What are your regrets?"
"My whole life."
The creature sat in midair as if there were a chair. He knew tea was coming.
She explained how bad she was to her family and how her so-called lover and best friend stabbed her right in the back. She was fuming as she mentioned them.
He felt bad for her.
"You see… I'm from the in-between. Neither in hell nor in heaven. We see things you don't, we feel things you don't. But 'I' give things anyone can't, though I might be punished by gods if they ever knew what I did." He slightly shrugged. "What would you do if you got another chance to go back and make everything right?"
Evelyn took a few seconds to think and get her priorities straight.
"Am I hallucinating from drugs the doctors gave me?" She asked, suddenly thinking, this is a massive joke. As far as she knew, if someone died, they were gone. No reverse, no remorse.
"See that bed? You're dead. You see that machine, the line is straight. You're stuck with a choice. In fact, I'm giving you an ultimatum. I know I am kind." He acted as if he wanted her to take the offer. Maybe he pitied her.
He said as if he was explaining things to a kid.
"I'd take my revenge. From that bastard and that bitch." she was ready for bloodshed. "It wouldn't matter if I get to them as the weakest one. I would be strong and I would kill them with my own hands."
"What is that kid's name? John?" He laughed loudly again. "Bastard," he mumbled. He took her things personally.
"Yes, him."
"This is your choice, Evelyn. Don't forget." he took a deep breath, ready to explain everything. "If you want, I will give you a chance to go back to earth and take revenge. But in exchange, you won't have emotion like love except for your family and one person,"
"Just one?"
"Yes and you have to choose now if you are going to accept." he said.
"Fine, I will take your offer. The guy that saved me. He was the only person excluding my family that actually cried for me."
He smiled hearing the words coming out of her, "The world might seem like spinning for a few minutes. Then it will all be gone. A new family where you can also seek revenge. Don't panic when the world goes upside down, okay? Ready?"
Taking a huge breath in, she answered, "Yes."
