What did I do wrong?

He picked up the suit jacket with his other hand and turned towards the door.

''There is no middle way, Archer. It's either we roll in bed or we ignore each other like a virus. There is no in-between,'' she said while looking at his broad back, the back she had hugged on her way back to the mansion, her voice was barely above a whisper as if she was speaking more to herself than to him.

His footsteps came to a halt and just when she thought he would come up with a jab, he didn't. He didn't mock her for obviously lusting after him when she was supposed to hate him as usual. He didn't laugh, not like she could see his dimple anyway with his back facing towards her so it did not matter. He did not argue nor did he talk her out of it.

He just left.

Left the room leaving her alone on the huge bed, lost in her thoughts.
