After we put back everything in its proper place and made sure that we left no evidence behind. That includes double-checking to see if there is any drop of blood left on the carpet. Then Prince Tarquin escorted me back to my chamber through the secret passageway. The dawn was already breaking by the time I get back as the sky was already painted in both scarlet and indigo.

I'd only slept for about three hours before Mrs. Charlotte came to wake me up, saying that it was late and the queen seeks my presence for her morning tea.

My eyes stung, and my head hurt a bit. Yet I did try to look presentable in front of the queen. Forcing myself to smile when she said something funny and greeted the guests that started to arrive for the royal wedding.
