If there had been more to Alpha Waylon’s interest in her then she could not for the life of her imagine what. She wasn’t certain she’d exchanged more than ten words with the man the entire time she’d lived with the pack. Declan had described his father as scary when he was growing up and she remembered feeling the same way.
When it came time to turn back and head for the cottage he spoke again.
“Tell me a little about your sister. What is her name?”
“Cara Sweetkane. The last time I saw her she was twelve. She’ll be coming of age this winter. In her last message, she’d already gone to the solstice dance."
“I wasn’t aware you received mail,” he said.
“Well, we message through a blue-winged fire hawk. I traded three quilts for the bird two summers ago and had to trust the merchant to deliver it to her so it could come back to me. I didn’t believe it would reach her. But it did and we’ve been in correspondence ever since.
