“Sleeptime is over, sunshine.”
I stir awake at the sound of applause and sit up. The room sits dimly lit, a blur of shadows. Where am I? The last thing I remember was going out for some fresh air and then…? I take in the pink feathers in front of me and my nerves ease little. Must’ve passed out on the couch after grabbing another bottle. I lay back down with a smile, eyeing her thighs peeking through the pink.
“Zelia. Come to join the party? I see you’ve brought feathers.”
“Get up.” She doesn’t hesitate to yank me by the wrist, bringing me back to a sit. “Tim is waiting for us downstairs.”
“Tim,” I croon, snapping to an imaginary bet I’ve made up. “I love me some Tim.”
“Uh-huh.” Zelia looks around the room with disgust, tugging at my wrist again. “Come on, we’ve stayed in this shack long enough. Don’t you think so?”
