Chapter 41: Home

Emilia wandered through the halls of her old palace. Gunnar had snuck them in through a secret passageway and used the resistance to monitor the halls so no guards or servants would find them.

“So, this is where you lived?” Tommy asked, eyes flitting around the hallway.

Emilia stared at the door to her quarters. All the lavish furniture, fine jewelry, and beautiful clothing hadn’t made this place feel like home.

“This is where I lived,” she corrected, pointing at the solid door.

“The whole palace, and you were…” Tommy trailed off.

Emilia narrowed her eyes at him. “Yes, I was confined. Dulcinea and I…”

She stepped forward and pushed the doors open. Her suite was entirely untouched, exactly as she left it.

The suite had a parlor, living room, dining lounge – rather than a kitchen or dining room it was a comfortable lounge to enjoy human feeders – a bedroom, and a lovely bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.
