"Hey! Mr. Prince Charming, you saved me. Why?", she asked and everyone shifted their gaze from her to the iceberg leaning on the wall. She stood up, her eyes fixed on him as if she had just hit the jackpot. She approached him with a smile still on her face.
" I was meant to come to you, but you came to me instead," she said, their faces were now centimeters apart.
"What are you talking about?" he asked scanning her from head to toe as if trying to put every feature of her stuck to his memory.
"Oh forgive me. I'm saying..." she said as she tiptoed to meet his height to whisper into his ears. "Let's get married," she said slowly. Just then the expressionless iceberg's eyes widened with shock. 'Is this lady crazy? who the hell does she think she is?'. So many thoughts were piling up in his head as the other two just stood there confused. What could she have told this iceberg that made him react like this?
"I need your help and you need mine too, so it's a win-win", she continued scanning his face. 'What?! how did this last know about my condition?' Xavier thought.
As if Ivy could read his mind, she answered " You must be wondering how I got to know" she whispered in a lower, somewhat seductive voice, "I have my ways, Mr. Qin." She said as she moved away from him and there was more space between them.
"Seven days, Mr. Qin, seven days" Ivy voiced out. 'Seven days for what' Xander thought. 'Seven d... could it be... no, her friend wouldn't be so straight up and daring. Yes, she is straight up and daring but... it can't be, Mia was battling with her thoughts when she got disrupted.
"Let's go, Mia," Ivy said, walking toward the door but she halted. "By the way, thanks my prince charming," she said as she gave a little mischievous smile and walked out with Mia going after her.
Mia led the way as she had studied the turns Xavier took while bringing Ivy to the room when she was unconscious. She called her driver and he arrived just in time as they entered and sped off.
"Umm... brother I didn't mean to pry into your matters, but..." he said scratching the nape of his head. "The actress was right, what didn't you take her to the hospital, instead you brought her to the house and your room for that matter".
Xavier just stood there like an unmoving statue staring at the path the car drove off through the French window.
" Oh, and by the way, what did she tell you that made you react like that, huh?" he asked, leaning on the French window facing his brother.
Just then, someone barges into the room. "Oh My God, V why didn't you inform me that you've finally found the key to your heart?" a woman in her mid-forties said as she approached Xavier.
She was very beautiful with plain brown eyes and mid-length jet black hair. She was dressed in a red jumpsuit. She looked like she had just come back from a trip as always.
"Mommy!" Xander called out childishly, he approached the lady to hug her but she stepped back.
"And as for you, I wonder when you're ever going to settle down. You just go around breaking the hearts of innocent women like me," she said forming a sad face.
(author:*cough. I reserve my comments)
"Mommy you know you're the last woman I'll ever cause a heartbreak to, right?" he asked pouting. The lady just looked at him for what seemed like minutes.
"Now can I get my hug? I haven't seen you for two whole months... two!" he said and he closed his eye and spread his arms expecting her to hug him.
When he didn't feel anything, he slowly opened his left eye just to be greeted with the sight of his beloved mother hovering over his brother again.
"So, what's her name? where's she from? how long have you known each other? do I know her?... ooh!" she exclaimed. "I hope she's beautiful, if possible as beautiful as me because I haven't seen a lady that's at least half my beauty"
"Mommy!!" Xander cried out once again.
"Ah yes I'm sorry. I have to patiently wait for you to answer the questions at a time. I'm just too excited".
" Mom, calm down or else your blood pressure will rise," the iceberg finally spoke. He had a soft spot for his mother. "Why are you even saying all this?" he asked
"I just happened to come across doctor Juang on my way here and she told me that you brought an unconscious lady here and called for her, so I figured that this mysterious lady might be someone special," she teased him while poking his chest.
"You have another son alive and breathing, mom," Xander said, he was already frustrated with his mom's attitude toward him today.
"Oh, you be quiet. When are you going to get me a pretty daughter-in-law and a grandchild? I'm not getting any younger you know," she said annoyed
"Mom I've been trying. But I... I... it's just that I haven't found the right person yet," he said nervously. "At least I'm trying compared to this iceberg you call a son," he said, he regained his confident composure once again.
The lady looked at him for a while before speaking. "When you're done being a sugar daddy, maybe you'll find the one," she replied nonchalantly. 'Sugar daddy?! what sugar daddy? impossible. Yuck!' Xander thought as his mother held his brother's hand and dragged him to the couch to sit down.
"Okay, so now tell me about her, her likes and dis..."
"Mom I have to get back to the office. See you later" he said cutting her in between her sentence, standing up and placing a kiss on her forehead. "And also, please keep Xander some company, he looks lonely," he said and walked out of the room.
'Lonely?! lonely my foot' Xander thought, he was already annoyed.
"Oh, my baby. I missed you so much," the woman said and she approached Xander as she pinched his cheeks, and hugged him tightly.
'Oh, now you remember you have another son,' he thought rolling his eyes.
