Kindness To Her Mother

Tina remembered her father had left them since when Jude was a baby, saying he was tired of their mother and he left with another woman, whom was controlling him then.

Tina sighed as she waited for her mother to stepped out and she asked, "What happened mom, when did he returned?."

"Hmm.." Mama-Tina first sighed as she sat back with Tina first.

"He came back with the lady that he previously ran away with. I should've been back before now, but the elders were trying to settled the lady as she refused to leave without your father following her back to the city. She claimed your father wanted to abandoned her, now she was getting older. And Your father claimed she didn't birthed him any child since all those years he had been living with her and sleeping with her, So he couldn't continued with her and he returned back to us."

"And you accept?" Tina asked, but her mother sighed and shook her head.

Mama-Tina was happy to seeing her grandson already grown, As he really looked cute and chubby. She asked Tina "Am sure Godsent father isn't a handsome man to have a cute boy like Godsent?."

Tina frowned and didn't replied as she didn't wanted to told her mother that he forced himself on her and even took advantage of her.

She smiled faintly and stared away, while her mother continued playing with Godsent.

Tina finally asked her mother, "Mom, how about the school scholarship results?. I know it has passed, but I just want to know what I got."

"Hmm" Mama-Tina smiled first.

"You really passed the exam, and your school teacher even came to the house to inquire about you, but I told her you weren't around, and the deadline for the verification of the scholarship result has already passed.."

Mama-Tina frowned remembering, she couldn't told the teacher that her daughter was pregnant, how shameful, she thought. But she wished Tina would still went into the university someday to further her education.

"Mom, I knew I would passed it." Tina smiled sadly, but she knew she wouldn't be able to further again into the university, As even as she passed the exams and won the scholarship. She couldn't left her baby behind and she knew they had probably given the scholarship to another student eligible that was around.

Tina promised herself that she would work real hard and saw herself thru school once Godsent grew up a little.

While Tina and her mother prepared to leave, her mother bought a phone, after Chika had thought her how to used a phone, so Chuka could be able to contact with Tina, whenever Tina and her mother had travelled back to Ochanda. To keep in touch with Tina and to know when next Tina would be visiting as Chika was also going back to the city.

Tina and Mama-Tina bid Aunt Clara and Chika goodbye as they left to the park, and boarded the bus that took them back to their own village.

Previously, when Patrick had visited his parent in the village, he had stopped at the market square where he knew Mama-Tina's shade was, so he could inquired about Tina.

He pretended he stopped to bought all he would be taking to his parent and younger sister, in the village, As although purchasing it and carrying it all the way from the city to the village was a bit difficult and to lessened police checkpoint.

Patrick stopped and checked at Mama-Tina's shade, hoping to saw Tina again, but he never did, As neither Mama-Tina nor Tina were around.

It been a year plus and he hadn't seen Tina. The last time he had checked, her mother told him she was in school, and his hope of seeing Tina since then, was becoming shattered as he hadn't seen her since that night he had slept with her, and took her home the following morning, he had dropped her off.

Patrick wondered how Tina was doing. Did she hated him now for what he did to her, as he knew she had pleaded with him to stopped, but he couldn't and was so interested in banging her that night.

Patrick was a big guy in City A, a big name, As he had apprentices and workers working for him in his company, yet Patrick wasn't happy because of the guilt of taking advantage of Tina.

Even his relationship with Mr Bright daughter (Anita) was shaking because he wasn't devoted to Anita and found it difficult to love Anita.

Anita was still all over him and not wanting to given him up even though she knew he didn't really loved her, Yet she was willing to still be with him, as she has never seen any other lady visiting Patrick, nor claiming to be his woman.

Anita doubted Patrick was gay as most of his closed friends and best friends had girlfriends and they loved visiting the club, hanging out with other beautiful ladies too in City A. So Anita doubted what was really Patrick's problem in taking her relationship with him seriously and propose to her, since she didn't knew nor had seen any other lady in his life.

Anita was in love with Patrick, hoping he would one day popped out the question, "Will you marry me?," And proposed his love to her but Patrick hasn't.

As Patrick got to Mama-Tina's shade, he saw Mama-Tina was now around and he was happy, as he approached her and greeted her politely, "Good evening ma."

"Yes evening" Mama-Tina replied.

"What do you want to buy?" She asked him and Patrick selected out some fruit.

Seeing Jude sat with Mama-Tina as it was even a schooling day, Patrick smiled to Jude and paid over for the fruit he had bought, asking Mama-Tina to kept the change and to gave it to Jude.

At first time when Patrick gave Jude money, Mama-Tina wanted to rejected it, as she had hardly got such kind of gestured from anyone towards Jude, except when Jude was a baby, as of 2-years old.

Then some of her customers used to dashed Jude money, To bought sweet, biscuits as he cried a lot, So he would stopped crying. But now Jude has grown up, as big as 11-years old. None had dashed him money, and seeing the young handsome man, dashing her son money, Mama-Tina got nervous to rejected it and gave Patrick back his change.

Patrick smiled understanding her fret, and he replied, "I mean no harm ma. Here, add it to bought whatever he maybe in need off."

Mama-Tina shook her head at his rear kindness and she replied him "Thank you sir."

Patrick rather doubled the money and rejected collecting his change from her hand and Mama-Tina smiled and packaged all the fruits Patrick had bought from her into a nylon and just then Patrick asked her, "How about your daughter ma? I mean that fair yellow girl. is been long I saw her last?."

"Oh, She's at my sister's place, but she will soon be back" Mama-Tina replied, As she hadn't gone to brought Tina back then. And planned doing so the following day., which she later did.

"Hope she's fine, is been long I saw her lastly, and am hoping to seeing her again" Patrick spoked and Mama-Tina smiled to him.

"She's fine" Mama-Tina replied, As she didn't knew why Patrick was asking for Tina either, as whenever Patrick came to her shade once in a while, Patrick asked of Tina.

Mama-Tina felt it normal like other customers asking of Tina's whereabouts too. And she became a little familiar with Patrick's face, due to his rare kindness towards Jude, As she brought Jude along with her to her shade in the market. As she couldn't left only him at home.

Jude wasn't going to school as they had also sent him home, for owing his school fees. So Mama-Tina spoked to Jude, "Here take his fruits to the car."

Jude helped Patrick carried all he had bought and placed it in Patrick's car boot. And Patrick also didn't knew Jude wasn't going to school either because of debt.

Patrick only saw Jude around whenever he was traveling home, and mostly during school days as weekend days the road was mostly busy.

So Patrick thought to dashed Jude money, which he did.

The money Patrick added given was quite huge and enough to pay Jude school fees throughout the year and even bought him other things he needed and Mama-Tina smiled as she watched Patrick got into his car and drove away.
