Chapter 36

Ken and his bride matched into the hall as we all stood up to welcome them into their main event. Though they were dancing their faces weren't just bright. I knew they were just pushing the day to reach an end. Others were celebrating but I found nothing to brighten my mood. Would I just fold my hands and let this murderer of a person called Sam escape the punishment he deserves? No!! In my own home, he's happier than me. If not because the love I have for Sandra, I must've done something silly. Even if it means rotting in jail but let him pay with his blood for the blood of my parents. I won't mind. Sam's presence just ruined my day. Had he didn't make it to the party, it could've been better. Even if he'll surface later, I have no problem with that. Well, I have to either endure it and continue staying at the party or leave the party hall for them. But for the sake of Sandra, I knew she won't feel comfortable if she looks around without seeing me. I just have to endure the pain and wait for her day to pass.

Wow!! I don't think I've attended such an amazing occasion. Every part of the hall was filled up with men and women of high profiles. I never knew Ken also had such friends. wealthy people from different parts of the country. What amazed me was the way money flew in the sky when they were dancing. Some threw money in bundles. The friends that honored Ken's wedding are making me think either he's still engaged in dirty games like his brother Sam, or he has a good reputation in his business.

To the glory of God, everything went smoothly. All the marital Rights were just perfectly fine. Wow!!! I enjoyed almost every bit of the wedding if not that I always remember what Sam did whenever I see him. Chai!!! How I wish Sandra's parents were still alive, they could witness such an awesome day. I almost cried for my aunty when they wanted to cut the cake. The officiating MC requested that the parents of both brides come and witness the cutting of the cake. Ken's brother and one other lady stood by Ken's side while they said that Ken's parents sent them while Jimmy and Madam Jane stood by Sandra's side. I knew they have no blood relationship with Sandra. I was expecting to see a strange face but I was disappointed. That's how we continued the party until Ken and his wife gave us a closing remark then we dismissed the party.

Because we already agreed to leave Enugu with a flight after the event, I had to plan everything well. Thank God Sarah was still around when the story changed. I involved her in the planning. She arranged my clothes and some of my belongings traveling bag. After the event, Aunty Sandra also handed our house key over to Madam Jane, our neighbor. While her other friends were still there to help her arrange some things in the house. We arranged things as we could then I bid my aunt farewell since they already prepared to leave the country the following day. Then I and the family of Jimmy went with Jimmy to the airport.

It was at the airport I remembered that Jimmy came in his car. I inquired about how the car would get to Abuja but Jimmy replied he'll be driving his car back while others would take flight.

....Uncle that's not just good. How can all of us take flight and you drive yourself from here to Abuja that's more than 8Hrs journey? If you don't mind, may I follow you so the two of us will go together?

Feel free to follow others. Your safety is all I want now... Jimmy replied me

Uncle, we're using the car. Let them go tonight. We will go back and rest so that early in the morning, we'll leave the city. I said authoritatively as if I were in the position to give commands.

Since I've been making it sound like a command, Jimmy succumbed to my opinion. Despite the deliberation, no other person talked to us. They left the conversation for me and Jimmy. Though I need not blame them, as their parents are still alive and there for them, they're supposed to enjoy life to the fullest. We then left them at the airport then Jimmy drove back to the hotel where we had the event. While they then took the flight back to Abuja. He lodged in the hotel while I continued running around to get the remaining work done since I'll be spending the night.

As I couldn't travel at night, it was a blessing to Sarah. The work was already cumbersome for her. Sometimes she'll be needed in two different places at a time. We then worked together and made the work easier.

...Jessy, as both of you are about to travel, who will be staying in this building? Or do you intend to leave it empty? Sarah asked we sat to rest since we'd finished the work we were supposed to do.

Dear, I don't know yet. Sandra might come back after a month. And I may also come back soon, though just for visiting. If they insist on leaving the house, good. If they want to retain the house, still good. But we'll agree on that later.

Okay...I'm just asking to know...Sarah replied

But Sarah, can your parents allow you to stay here alone even if my aunt agrees to give you the key?... I questioned her

"It's not just possible. I know my parents and what they can do. No need to ask for it, my mother won't even listen to me."

That is it. And it won't be easy for you even if they agree because you'll have to take care of yourself and no one will care if you feed well or not. They'll only be concerned whether you're leading a wayward life or not.

"Hahaha, you understand that kind of thing. Let's allow the sleeping dog to lie"

We continued chitchatting for some time then freshened up and retire for the night.

Very early in the morning, I dressed up and then traveled with Jimmy
