Chapter Forty seven

Marcus strode into the house, it was unusually quite and he knew that was because Sophie was no longer in the house.

He will surely miss her, but he needed to carry out his plans, and Sophie will only complicate things for him if she's here all the way, he didn't want her thinking he's seeing another woman, most especially his Ex, her friend.

Ben, one of his bodyguard walks in with some files in his hand.

"Those files are ready sir, and the woman's outside"

Marcus collected the files from him and studied them.

"Stacy?"

"Yes sir, she said she have to see you"

"let her in"

"Ok sir"

Ben left and came back few minutes later with Stacy by his side. Involuntarily sending glances around the room, as if she was looking for someone.

"Hi" she said as she sat beside him. Marcus handed the files back to Ben and bade for him to leave, after he walked out the of door, Stacy almost grabbed him to kiss him but he drew back.

"Hey chill woman. You can't do that" He told her, removing her hand clutching at his shirt and standing up from the chair. She stood up with him too and walked towards him.

He raised a hand to stop her with a Stern expression.

"Stop it, not today, not now. You aren't here for this"

Her shoulder sagged at his words.

"Do you Know how long I've been dreaming of this day. Do you? You want me back, I want you too, so what's keeping us waiting"

Marcus studied her, she was mad.

"Why are you staring at me like you want to devour me. Common Marcus, you can have me, here I am" With this she loosed the top buttons of her shirt. Revealing pale creamy breasts.

Marcus felt.....He didn't Know but his body didn't even react to her sexy moves. And he was as stiff as wood.

What had Sophie done to him?

He moved closer to her and she smiled but he closed her shirt.

"Another time, not now" he told her.

"What?!"

"You heard me!"

She sighed defeatedly and buttoned up her shirt.

Walking around the house she silently surveyed the environment.

"So where do you keep your beloved Sophie?" She asked him

"I haven't kept her anywhere, and wherever she is, is none of my business"

"So she cheated on you?" She asked again following Marcus up the stairs.

No she didn't you fool! Marcus thought in his mind. How much he wanted to say that loud, but he couldn't.

"I don't want to talk about it." He said as he opened the door to his bedroom and she quickly entered.

"Do you want us to do it here?" She asked smiling sheepishly.

This girl was dumb!

Marcus shook his head. "If you have nothing more to say, kindly leave now, I have work to do" He told her as he walked into the bathroom.

He made a mistake.

Immediately he went into the bathroom, she looked around his room and brought out a camera from her bag positioned it somewhere it wouldn't be visible. When she made sure it was okay and recording. She walked out if the room. She went to the room beside his and walked in.

This was probably Sophie's room. She thought as she looked around the room. Hissing and scoffing as she went. Nothing unusual. Thank God none of her clothes where in the closet, she would have ripped them one by one.

Soon! She'll get a hold on that girl, she thought as she walked out and moved to the next room.

As she opened the door, the scent of baby stuffs caught her nose.

There were only baby things in the room. Why didn't she take these stuffs along with her when she was going? Stacy thought and bent down to pick up something when she heard Marcus voice.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"Oh.... sorry, I just wanted to look around and I found this room. Wouldn't she need these things, why are they still kept here?" She asked and he sent her a dry look

"She'll come back to get them, now step out and close the door. I don't like people trespassing" He said folding his arms.

She silently closed the door after sending one last glance into the room and followed him down the stairs.

"Leave now" He said as they got to the living room.

"I will, but next time I'm here, I'll want you to take me to bed just like the old times" She said rubbing her hand in his chest.

Marcus nodded.

She sent him a smile and walked out.

He had the urge to call out to her 'bitch'

He hated her so much he wished he could strangle her.

Ben came in carrying a laptop. His expression unreadable.

"She installed a hidden camera" He told Marcus as he showed him a video.

"I knew she would, that was why I said we should have a camera In too. I know she'll try something nasty"

"What did you want me to do with the camera" Ben asked

"Leave it,I'll get rid of it myself" he told him and he walked back up the stairs.

Sophie drummed her foot on the solid ground where she was sitting beside the river. Everywhere was cool and calm as she watched Camille play with Evelina in the river. There were joys on their faces not compared to her, whose heart was bleeding.

"Come and join us Mom!" Camille screamed at her as she giggled at Evelina who was splashing her with water.

Sophie set her a smile and shook her head. " I don't want to get cold, don't Know if it'll hurt the baby" She said but Evelina smiled at her.

"It can't" She said as she walked out of the water with Camille and began drying themselves.

"Why don't we go down to the clinic downtown for your check-up. When last have you had your prenatal vitamins and other things giving at the hospital"

"I heard those not quite long ago. But hadn't had time to get another one"

"We'll get you registered at that clinic we saw when we where coming here. Let me dress up Camille and I will join you later. Give us few more minutes" She said as she carried Camille into the house.

Sophie watched as they left and smiled.

She was glad she had this two by her side Even though she misses her mother dearly.

Marcus. She wanted to call Marcus. She took her phone by her side and dialed his contact. He picked on the third ring.

"Hi" she said.

"Sophie, are you Okay?" Was the first thing he asked.

"Yeah I am. I only wanted to ask you, about the other day....."

"The call? oh...I had that all planned, I just knew that one day she'll be safe and asking for her granny. So I and Stella made that up"

Sophie let out a slow smile.

"Thank you Marcus"

"Thank Stella too, it was mainly her idea"

"I will definitely do that. When will you come visiting?"

"Soon Baby, Soon"

After he ended the call, Sophie burst out in tears, almost crying her head out.

When did her life ever become this way?

Hiding and running, and even leaving behind the people she loved. When would all this come to an end?

How she wished, that everything will go back to normal, with her mother by her side, her baby growing steadily and healthier. Everywhere blooming happiness.

But was her happiness long gone, would she ever regain all the happiness she has lost?

The answers were not meant to be answered because darkness was still looming around the corners.
