Fun time

"We have been together for a long time. Now I'm even living with you. Isn't it time for me to meet your parents? Or are you ashamed of me?" Lili was shocked at the question.

"No, why should I be ashamed? And why meet my parents?" Was this a Chinese thing? Meeting parents?

"I'm your boyfriend. They have to meet me so they will know I'm serious with you." They were laying together in bed watching a movie. It was raining outside. They spent the weekend at the festival. Lei showed himself as an exceptionally poor player. Either he was bad a lot or he let her win. Always.

"They know that you are serious even without you meeting them…" she told him, not getting it at all.

"Are you ashamed that I'm not European?" Lili quickly turned around, facing Lei.

"Always remember, I'm not ashamed of you. And I love you for who you are!!! My parents would never think that! They will love whoever I'll fall in love with. Even if it's alien." Lili stopped and smiled.

"My mom would prefer you to be a vampire. She is totally into fantasy guys." Now there was a shock on Lei's face instead of sadness.

"Then why don't you want to take me to them?" Lili was holding his face close to her.

"You are dear to me. I will never be ashamed of someone as amazing as you. This house is still my parents', but they are now working. Mom is in Germany and dad is there with her. So, they can't meet you…" Lili kissed his lips lightly.

"I love you and if someone disagrees with me being with you, I can kick their asses." Lili laughed.

She knew nothing of how touched Lei was. Because no one had ever shown him such love. Nobody except for his family members was ever willing to kick asses if someone does not like him. His heart was leaping out with joy. And Lei knew he chose the right woman to fall in love with.

She was such a bully. Really. They went together to the zoo in Vienna. Because it was close to where Lili lives. Now they were before the spiders, and she wanted him to go inside.

"You have to try it. I will be here for you." Her beautiful smile was so warm and sweet. It made this sunny day even shinier.

"Never. Ever. Not even with you. I'm afraid of them." Lei knew it was irrational to be afraid of animals who were like twenty times smaller than him, but he simply was afraid. And had no idea why.

"I will help you overcome your fear," Lili said, and dragged him through the door. Fortunately, his fear was not caused by panic attacks. He just couldn't be closer than a few meters to them. Or he had an indescribable desire to smash them with something.

"No way. I will never go." He stalled and jerked his hand. Lili wasn't prepared for the backlash and stumbled backward. He caught her in his arms, turned her around, hugged her, and moved to the side so others could come through.

There weren't many people in this pavilion and he did not care anymore. While being in Europe, he noticed that they are used to showing their love in public. So different from Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, everybody would disgustingly stare at you and he got why. You have to respect those around you, and Chinese people surely don't want to see a display of affection on every corner. But here. They will look, but nobody cares.

"See, you are here with me. Don't worry, they are not moving." Lili took a step to his side and put her hand around him.

"Come with me. Some of them are fascinating." Lei looked at her, questioning her sanity. Fascinating? Lei shuddered. No way.

He looked down at the floor when they were walking around. Sometimes he heard an excited scream from the crazy woman by his side, but he dared not to lift his head.

"Look. Look. It's so fluffy." What the heck was she watching? Lei slowly looked up and saw a giant spider. Sure, it was fluffy. Not moving, thank god. But it was such a huge spider.

Lei started sweating. But he was frozen with fear. Lili noticed his stiffness, turned around, and took his head into her hands. She forced him to look at her.

"Look at me. I'm here." Lei blinked. Beautiful icy eyes. Warmth emitted from her. He took a breath, lowered himself, and hugged her, his head buried in her chest.

"Well. This is not the comforting I imagined. I thought it would be like in movies. I would scream, you would save me. Looks like life is tricky." She smiled and looked around. Only one kid was watching them.

"Mama, mama, look what is that mister doing?" He screamed while running to his parents.

"Oh, he is afraid of spiders." His mom said. While his father was watching them with laughter in his eyes.

"Mister is smart. I would be afraid of spiders too if I were married to her." His father uttered, which was awarded by a loud smack on his head by his wife. Lili was blushing so much. She just took Lei back outside. Screw the bats she wanted to see.

"Let's buy tickets back to Hong Kong. There, even if someone talks about me, at least I can't understand them," Lili said and Lei wondered what happened. Because he had no idea.
