The day D

Lei was woken up by a slight knock on the door. He softly untangled himself from Lili's hug and walked over to open the door. Luckily he had his clothes on. He was too tired yesterday to do something more for his love. He opened the door and stared at Chao.

"It arrived." He whispered while leaning into his ear. Lei's eyes widened in surprise. That was quick. He did not expect that. He indeed paid a small fortune to have it quickly finished and sent a small jet to pick it up. But it took only about a week and a half.

He gestured to his little brother to go downstairs. He did not want to wake up Lili. It was a surprise for her. Today was the day he would propose. He knew he wanted to spend his life with her and was afraid that the most precious person to him would run away.

He changed his clothes and went to the bathroom, then he walked downstairs. The entire gang, even with Dylan, was already there. And he was touched. They wanted to help him. Chao, that big gossip girl, had obviously informed them what was happening.

"Morning, guys. You are going to help me?" he asked, and all of them nodded. He contemplated for a bit, and then he nodded.

"I need someone to stay here, to keep her company when she awakes." Five of them raised their hands. And he was okay with it. Hopefully, they will keep her busy enough.

"Don't let her play the game on her account. She would see the second surprise," Chao noted with a raised finger, then he turned around to face Lei.

"The rest of us will help you prepare. Just say what you need and we will help you," he continued, and Lei smiled. He had a general idea. He took out his wallet and passed one credit card to Dylan and the other to Chao.

"Please, you buy candles and lights, even Christmas lights, and better on batteries. And lots of it. And some floating candles, please." He gestured towards Dylan and Yixing. They nodded, even though Yixing was slightly frowning, and took off with his Centurion card.

"Chao, you go to a flower shop and buy roses." Lei smiled... "and a bouquet of the exact flowers I will send to you. I don't care how far you need to go." Chao looked shockingly at the HSBC premier card in his hand. It was one card that was kept only for special occasions.

"You expect me to buy the entire shop or only flowers?" Chao asked, shocked that he got this card. Lei made a fake laugh sound.

"Hahaha. Buy roses and rose petals. I need a lot. And I mean A LOT!" Lei smirked when he imagined the scene he wanted to create. Chao looked at Yitian and they both went on their quest, too. Lei looked at Huobai standing before him. He took him around his shoulders and led him away.

"I count on you guys. If there is any problem, message Chao," he said in a low voice and then spoke to Huobai, "you will come with me and help me choose a suit. I know you have a good taste for clothing." Huobai nodded, as he knew about that. But Huobai wasn't sure that his taste would be the same as Lili's because she dressed average, not horrible, but not good either.

"Don't you have a bit more of the petals?" Lei asked Chao, who looked on the verge of killing his own older brother.

"I was in every freaking flower shop in Hong Kong. I doubt there is even one more rose petal in this city." Chao got out through his teeth.

Lei was thinking more about the pool. When Chao's phone chimed with an incoming message. He read it and bent over with an immediate laughing attack.

"What's going on?" Lei asked. And had to wait a bit before Chao was able to say anything.

"Your future wife thinks that you have an extramarital affair today." Even Yitian started laughing when he heard Chao say that. But Lei wasn't that amused.

"Don't worry, boss. She is joking… probably," Dylan said and continued with hanging up the lights. It was starting to look amazing, but it was still too little. They were not done yet.

"Oh, they need help. She is out of control. And suspecting something," Chao was still laughing as read out loud the messages that he got from Shanshan. But Lei wasn't that amused. He wasn't amused at all. When Yitian saw his poker face, he knew what to do.

"Lei, I will go there. Chao, let's take her to the spa, where she will be far away from a computer and away from here. And mainly… she won't have time to be nosy or think about what you are doing." Chao just nodded and Lei dialed up the Spa he had membership in. It sounded like a good idea.

Chao went to Yitian's side and waited for further instruction. After Lei finished booking the entire team, he passed Yitian his Centurion card again and cried inside a bit. So much money. But it was worth it. She was worth it.

Chao patted his shoulder when passing by, and Lei knew they were having a lot of fun.

She was here. He heard the clapping noises of high heels. It took her a while to go through an entire house, but when she appeared at the glass doors, he was speechless.

Her beautiful pale skin was contrasted with the long ruby red dress fitting her luscious body curves. Lili's blond hair was falling down in waves, framing her stunning face. Her lips had red lipstick on and he hoped for it to be kiss-proof because his first urge was to run to her and kiss her whole.

Lili's icy blue eyes were framed with long lashes. She saw him and smiled, and he couldn't help but smile too. His grin was wide and full of happiness. She came a bit closer and noticed the bouquet he was holding. All the flowers had meaning. You are a flame in my heart. I love you, fidelity, love…

"Hello, my love…" he said in a slightly hoarse voice, but he doubted she noticed anything. Her eyes became watery, and he adored her so much at this moment. He adored her for life. He knew that he chose the perfect one for him.
