21. Theodore, Cora, Cryus and the Turns

****

Following the instruction given by Theodore, Cyrus sprinted downstairs and assembled the mass of turns where they could be found.

At this moment it was dusk, and the night remained unfriendly. When the turns saw Cyrus' presence they all congregated around him and listened to what mission, they, the pawns shall carry out.

But this mission had a different objective. This was not like the one they were used to carrying out. This was certainly to eradicate a group of enemies who had come against them prevailing in the whole of Petra

When Cyrus was addressing the turns, Theodore and Cora's presence also came down to them. Each one of the turns thus bowed down and greeted their elder vampires.

The turns would bow because it was how they connected to the elders. Such was that when a human was bitten and was turned, first of all, he felt extreme hunger and when he had been able to feed, he felt connected to the original vampires which determined his life.

And thus, he felt a bigger connection to the elders which automatically attracted his humbleness before them.

The same way they feel a connection to Cyrus, they feel a connection to Adeline but by the instruction of Cora, shall they not humble themselves at her presence. They shall mock her instead because she mocked them first by not drinking the blood of the humans.

By the gesture of Cora, each "turned" lifted their heads and glared at her grandness and gloriousness and listened to her instruction.

She made sure to nail it in their ears that they assembled against another species of human. The humans with magic can easily change night into day with their ridiculous words. The witches who called themselves the women of livee.

"Such an idiotic name" She scoffed softly.

At this moment Theodore picked up her words as Cora held a pause and he explained further how to kill them.

He explained that they were able to kill the witches by the burning fire. If the witches could be burnt from head to the toe, they shall die and the victory shall be theirs.

He also assured them that they should not be afraid because they have single-handedly done it before and they shall do it again and when the witches resurface again after this, they shall again burn them and keep burning them.

He did not also forget to warn them because the fire could be dangerous for them also. Better to say that the originals could not be easily killed by fire but any small fire on any turned will quickly burn them to ashes.

When Theodore was done uttering, Cora also shared another method with the turns. Of course, this one method she knew every one of the turns would love because she as the original had preferred the method over the fire.

At this instance when Cora wanted to talk, the heavy breeze began and as such, she interpreted it as an omen for the witches to be wiped out.

She then graced the sky and waited for the rain which began to drip little by little.

This did not mean Theodore believed it was an omen, he considered the rain meant the rain and the breeze was just a breeze. Even though he agreed with Cora to call it an omen because the turns needed more than a motivation to carry out their objectives and the witches should not stand a chance against them.

"Since a witch burns, she must be made of wood, and since wood floats and dusk also floats, logically a witch will weigh the same as dusk. But you shall not be carried by fear nor by cowardice because their blood sweetens your tongue. And each movement they possess against you, you will move twice as much and stung your fangs in their skin. And will suck their blood but to never turn them because you shall kill them by taking out their heart."

Cora explained as she looked at Theodore who happened to nod back in agreement.

That was a sign which meant nothing but to start the debate. A debate about whom to be called leader among the pawns. Those who shall advance against the witches and who will command the army of the turns.

At this moment the rain had become heavier but it did not mean the turns nor the originals went out of the downpour and the thunder that treated the whole of the sky.

The one Cora had chosen was a surprise even to Cyrus but if he had done anything about it was a lie. That could only mean he had opposed the authority and disrespected the elder in the face of his subject.

Geraldine was the one who turned a couple of nights ago and definitely was a wrong choice for a leader of the turns.

"She redeemed herself of reproach and shame and paid her due." Cora interrupted Cyrus' thoughts even when she had not spoken through her mouth but in her mind.

"If she fucks this up," Cyrus asked yet in his mind.

"And she will die by the fire that burns havoc," Cora responded.

When Geraldine's name was mentioned. It was true that each turned never remembers what name they used to bear and they shall only respond by the beckoning of the fingers to them or by the aroma of blood they perceive.

It was also more true that they do not remember they were once human and the only thing that mattered to them after they conquer their rigorous hunger was blood and their loyalty to the originals.

"Fire for magic, blood for blood, teeth for portions and teeth for spells. She shall lead" Cora announced.
