22. The Witches' Temple.

At this moment where Adam's boys had left only Adam with the witch as a reason for his order, the witch led Adam into the private chamber and locked the door behind them.

Even when Adam had expected the witch to start talking as his men already left them as she wanted, he was only disappointed by what the witch had done.

It makes no sense to him to see her seated down in the middle of some sort of wide circle drawn on the floor and decorated with lighted candlesticks throughout the circle. But that was not a thing of his concern. Those of course were of no meaning to him.

If the witch had believed Adam was also going to exhaust the silence, she lied as he disturbed her with questioning again and again.

At this moment, the witch's eyes were already shut. But that had not really meant anything to Adam even when the witch was already in meditation hearing all that Adam said in his mind.

"You said you know all about my past?" Adam breezed the question as though it was sudden.

"Yes!" The witch gave a fast soft response.

"What do you know about me?" He asked again.

"Everything!" The witch answered softly again.

This time, the witch already opened her eyes and shot her gaze upon Adam. This did not make Adam feel timid or shy in any way. He even stared back into her eyes strongly expecting a response that explained all that the witch knew about him.

But all she heard at this time was a totally different thing. He had only heard a story he had not been interested to listen to. This did not mean he was not paying his attention, it only meant that he would interrupt the witch again.

"We are linked with each other. Our fate unites and we will both do wonders." The witch assured.

Adam laughed. What he heard was funny enough to ease his tension.

"What fate?" He asked with a gentle smirk.

"Come! Sit with me at the altar of circle." the witch invited.

Adam had not delayed even for a minute before he answered the witch's invitation to step inside of the circle and sat with her. But if it had been that easy, that was a lie.

"Take off your shoes!" The witch commanded immediately as Adam almost shot his leg into the circle.

When Adam took off his shoe, and he walked into the circle, he leveraged the opportunity to demand what the circle meant and surely, a direct answer the witch gave him.

"This is the altar of circle, where all the witches in the temple would gather by my invitation as the priestess and make rituals or strengthen our magic. This was taught to us by our mothers. The direct daughters of the burnt witches of Livee as you may have heard" She explained.

By this Adam had only gazed down on the circle again. He now understood what the circle meant and why he had been told to take off his shoes when he was to step inside of the circle.

"Yes, that is right. This is a sacred place." The witch interrupted again.

"Could you just stop hearing my thoughts" Adam warned!

But that had not meant his anger. Even at that, there was nothing he could do or nothing he heard as a response from the witch.

"Give me your left hand" The witch instructed softly.

Adam did not blink for fear nor withdraw at all. He stretched out his left arm and gave it to the witch as she asked. It did not mean Adam understood what the witch was about to do. He could only wait to see.

At this time, the witch took a dagger by her side. This was a different type of dagger which happened to look thus old with old symbols.

"It is ancient. Passed down from generation to generation. It is the sacred knife." The witch explained interrupting Adam's thoughts again.

"Close your eyes," The witch said softly.

Adam exhaled, he closed his eyes as the witch commanded and verily hoped that he won't be cut by that thing. Luckily, his hope was true. He was not cut; instead he felt the witches' palm upon his palm. And that was not all he felt. He felt something flowing from her palm to his and certainly dropping to the floor.

At this moment, the witch began with her foreign language and continued chewing those words in her mouth. At first, she was saying those words very calmly but this did not last for long before she added more passion, more strength and more voices.

This meant not her voice alone was heard even when she was the only one in the private chamber with Adam. More voices and different tones filled the chamber and everything became out of the ordinary.

With this strength, the breeze flew inside the chamber with no window and the walls began to shake. The whole temple felt like it was going to crumble.

The Vam hunters drew out their swords and headed towards forcing down the door to the private chamber plus Adam's name they continued to call out loud.

Even this had not meant success. The five women who rescued them from the woods double-crossed them. And forged their fingers against them.

"Stiflepano" [restriction spell]

As soon as they said their spell, the one eye hunter almost ran to them to stab any of them with his sword. But again, this only failed as each one of them remained static above the floor as if they were woods.

Though they remained alive and could see, their body became paralysed and they could not move at all. And at this moment, the five red-heads only went to stand guard at the door to the private chamber.

Adam was thus breathing too hard and sweating profusely. The vision he had as his eyes were shut was of blood and death. Particularly himself who was bitten by the vampires and his heart was removed by the sucker whom he had her cloak in his pocket.

But immediately after that vision was clear he saw another. It was that of the priestess who was calling his name in the vision as they led an army together and waged war against those who prey upon them.

When he opened his eyes as the vision was complete, the private chamber was already scattered and all the candles were quenched except one. Though he could still see the priestess, the chamber was not as bright as it was before.

He could also witness a black smoke travelling around in the private chamber until it passed out beneath the door. He was also still covered with beads of sweat.

"What you saw is the future and your fate if you do not agree with us," Kitara said.
