38. Witch of The Hut and Cyrus

****

As Cyrus continued to hear his name being called, he sprinted into the woods in order to catch a little idea of what was happening to him.

Though he knew it was witchcraft, he wondered who had the gut and confidence to temper with him, an original vampire and the elders' offspring and he will not be merciful when he finally gets a hold of that scumbag.

He continued to look around more vigilantly and sprinted to different points in the wood where the voice could be getting closer and stronger.

But no matter how strong the voice was, it was still in a whisper and he could not find anywhere he could determine a path to follow.

"Show yourself and I promise to give you an easy death," He yelled.

But if he saw anything even when he gazed dangerously in a direction, it was a lie. All that he saw were the fallen trees and the dry leaves and trees around him. Also, there still remained a distant faint light in that direction that could not be traced no matter how much he tried.

His vampire characteristic was also useless in tracing the intruder's heartbeat, smell or voice.

"Come to me … I will give you everything that you want including the head of your sister." The witch whispered again.

Hearing this, Cyrus could not be more pleased to hear what he heard but he did not show any sign of it nor did he sway from staying sharp as he sprinted in search of the voice and the same direction to the faint light.

When he had tried for long sprinting through the whole of the woods and yet he could not arrive at the faint light, he concluded that it was the witches who were only messing with him and this was more of a reason he would, again and again, burn every witch he would find in the whole of Petra.

But the witch of the hut was not done with him yet and at this moment, she would make him find a way to her so she sent fireflies toward him which now clouded over him.

Though It has been a while there had been fireflies in the north of Petra, Cyrus was not bothered by their sight and the moment he would have sprinted back to the coven, he heard another whisper romanced into a burst of wicked laughter.

"Come …" she said in a long maniac cackle.

This confirmed Cyrus' thought that it was indeed the witches messing with him and his intention towards them grew eviler. At this point he knew he would not hesitate to feed their flesh to the birds just after he drained their bloods and he would finally burn them to ashes.

"A glorious death" he whispered to himself.

Suddenly, the fireflies which clouded above him began to go in a direction faster than normal. He knew that it could not have been a coincidence, and he followed them closely behind.

He did not walk, nor did he run following the fireflies, he only waited and used his super-speed to follow them until he almost sprinted out of the north of Petra and entered the east of Petra.

Though he still remained in the woods, there was a river at the border of the north and the east and he would have to cross because at this moment he saw a hut at the other end of the river and smoke and faint light coming out of it.

"Come … come …" the witch whispered again.

When Cyrus heard this, he had not waited any more second, he sped back into the woods and with his super strength, he carried a fallen tree as if it was just one of the dry leaves and he threw it into the river and made it serve as a boat.

Also, with this same strength, he used his super-speed to paddle the waters and the tree floated faster to the other end of the river.

But what Cyrus saw at the other end of the river was different from what he saw when he was yet to cross the river.

The faint light and the hut he saw before he crossed now became far to him after he crossed and the fireflies continued to travel faster in the direction of the faint light.

Even this had not caused Cyrus to return to the coven. It only propelled his vexation the more and nothing will stop him from ripping the witch's heart for toiling with him and not minding her place.

As quickly, he sped using his super-speed in the direction of the fireflies and the witch had not stopped to express herself in her longest cackle.

When Aponi and the other turns arrived west of Petra. The aroma of blood they perceived was enough to distract them from their objective, Though Aponi tried not to betray the cause because she feared for her death.

The turns with her found it hard to control their craving because of the blood they perceived. They tried to prey on the little girl who was just walking in the street nearer to the woods they were in.

When their eyes turned black, Aponi quickly grew her claws and she obstructed each one of the turns from sprinting towards the girl. To her, their mission to locate the witches must be their cravings.

This did not mean they let Aponi have her way and this did not mean Aponi let them off easily because at this moment when she gnashed her teeth and revealed her fangs in anger towards the turns, they challenged her and they wrestled, stung their claws into each other's skin and chaotically biting one another.

Suddenly, the fireflies leading Cyrus vanished but it did not matter. At this moment, Cyrus was standing before the hut and smoke continued to evaporate from the hut just before him.

Once the fireflies disappeared, Cyrus's eyes turned raven and his fangs grew, his nails hardened and he sped around the hut.

"This is that time." He said to himself.

No matter how many times he sped round the hut, there was no door to the hut and there was no way he would have entered into the hut.

All of these the witch saw and she did not fail to express her continuous wicked laugh.

"Just like your grandmother, you are such a fool who is full of himself," she said in a malicious voice before she pulled him into the hut by folding her fingers into her palm. .
