Weapon and Family

"What do you mean by that?" I asked as I remembered the serious look both Zavier and my father had when I came back, they had a look where they made a huge step in the scheme they have been planning for a while but at the same time they looked like they were very serious like they had been waiting for that moment for a long time.

I don't know what they were planning but I knew that it was very serious. I never asked since it wasn't my place to ask but I knew I would be told soon enough since my position in the family is quite high.

"I'll tell you when the time is right, don't worry by that time you'll be ready in fact, you might even be excited but come one let's go see the family and your mother will help you choose your weapon and then you can go train."

I nodded my head as both of us walked out of the tunnel and back to the main complex of the Kenji Estate.

Father led me down the main hall and brought me in front of these large black doors that glowed with runes that I knew were part of a formation. I knew this was more than just a dining hall and was one of the places where some of the most important decisions of the family are made.

He pushed the door open and I saw a room large enough to fit over fifty people and in the middle, there was a large round table that made me think of the meeting knights back in medieval times used to have.

At the table I saw my mother and a young man who looked about nine to ten years old, he had gold hair with dark skin and silver eyes, he looked at me with a smile filled with warmth and brotherly love even in a serious environment such as this.

He got up from the table and walked towards me and when he finally reached in front we stared at each other for a couple of seconds and finally said "You finally came Hakari, was it that hard picking a mannual to train in its only body tempering after all?"

"Only you would say that Rizen, you are gonna put us both to shame in front of the whole family right now," I said laughing as I looked at my older brother, we have a very tight bond we always have each others back, he had already started his cultivation 2 years ago and was making very good progress.

The Kenji family was a superfamily, everyone was a genius in cultivation. It was one of the reasons we are as strong as we are. The strongest member in the family is unknown but it is said that the strongest experts are my parents, uncles, and grandfather.

"Alright Rizen go back to your mother, you two will have time later, Hakari follow me to the front we have to tell the family what happened." My father said as Rizen nodded and went back to the table with mother.

I and father made it in front of the table where I looked forward and saw a throne and on it, I saw a man who looked in his thirties but his age was far above that he had black hair and slit scarlet eyes who I knew to be my grandfather Kirean Kenji, the patriarch of the Kenji Family.

I looked to my left and saw another young man in his late twenties, he had black hair and slit silver eyes, and sharp ears he was my uncle Treysin Kenji the older brother of my father. My grandfather was known for fucking around quite literally so that led to him having kids with different women but that didn't really matter.

"Little Brother, you're back? What happened how did it go?" Treysin asked with an intriguing smile on his face. Treysin was a very intelligent man and ruthless and was the top planer of the family in fact he was the actual leader of the family in the shadows, while my eldest uncle Everen, a young man with maroon hair and gold eyes was seen as the leader in the eyes of the public.

Treysin scared me not because of fear but what he can do and what he represents, there with 2 things I could do when it comes to him, stay far away from him or have him train me.

"Other than the Fire, Darkness and Lightning, Hakari has a space and time affinity."

"WHAT!!!!!!"

Everyone from the table stood up and looked at me in shock. Thanks to mom and dad setting barriers around me and my brother we were fine. Otherwise would have been deaf from our eardrums being obliterated.

"Bashar this is not the time for jokes, space laws are already rare enough but time is almost impossible." Treysin said and I could not blame him, time laws are rare and almost impossible to comprehend and space laws in my opinion are even harder to comprehend than time laws. There is a reason why space law users were feared they were one of the worst people to fight. They could literally use your own attacks against you and make using spells pointless.

"I'm serious my son is a genius but was there ever any doubt?" Father said with an arrogant smile but no one complained. It was known in the whole family that my father could be the leader of the family but had no interest in politics so left it in the hands of Treysin.

I felt a stare and turned to look at my grandfather who seemed to be scanning me from head to toe, I felt completely bare but I showed no fear and looked him dead in the eyes. I wasn't going like that to anybody, don't think because I'm a kid I'm easy to pick on.

"You're son is interesting Bashar it seems your intelligence and talent were inherited by him are you sure you don't want to take my place son?" Kirean asked as he looked at my dad with a caring look. Black Dragons were ruthless and bloodthirsty by nature and were one of the most deadliest races ever but it was the intelligent ones that were by far the scariest, the ones like my father and Treysin.

"I'm good dad, besides you look pretty comfy on that throne if you ask me all you need is a bitch to give you some good top and you'll be straight, ain't that right brother?" My father asked as he looked at Treysin with a smile while grandfather turned red with shame and rage.

"I got to agree with you Bashar, father hasn't had a whore on him in years he's still tryna bag the empress no matter how many times we tell him it won't work it seems he has finally become a-"

"YOU UNGARTEFULL BRATS DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME A SIMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Grandfather howled as my father, uncles, mother, and Rizen laughed, Bashar and Treysin always teased grandfather even when they were kids but ever since they found out he had his eyes on the empress of the federation they wouldn't let him off.

"It's a shame how the one who taught us everything we know has now fallen, come on dad you should know better, but it's ok I'll spare you for now. Luna, take Hakari and help him find his weapon so he can start training."

Before I knew what was going on I felt my mother pick me up and throw me into her divine mountains before we left to get my weapon.

"Kari, we are here you can go choose your weapon you just have to pick one up and if the gem on the bottom glows that it shows your affinity to it."

Just like with the elements, weapon affinity comes from the soul. In the past, I used a katana and a spear the most. I also dual welded as well. I also used daggers and staffs as well so this affinity could go any way. I walked up to a serrated sword, picked it up and I closed my eyes and felt nothing. I looked down and saw the gem didn't glow I put it down and moved on the scythe.

I picked it up and felt energy running through me the glow wasn't bright meaning that I wasn't highly attuned to the scythe but this showed high potential for improvement.

Deciding not to waste time I moved to the katana in the back of the weapon room, the handle was meant to be held with two hands but my skill with it was so monstrous that I could use it with one hand easily. It really wasn't fair in any way.

The Katana had a black handle with a black blade it was a basic one nothing special about it really, I picked it up, and before I even closed my eyes the gem shined brightly pretty much screaming my weapon affinity clearly.

"A katana huh, we never had one in the family we usually have scythe, spear, broadsword and dagger users but I guess we'll see something new." My mother said giggling happily "Your brother is a scythe user but nobody had seen one in the family in cycles so mamas babies should put on quite a show."
