Damian had known Miriam for a long time. Way before she was married to Jayer. They worked together on many occasions. He could understand what she was going through. It was the same when he lost his Luna years back. She was there for him.
He tried to be there for her as much as possible, but she had shut down. Jason was there with her every day. Trying to feed her. It was like her soul was no longer there. Jason had almost forgotten about Alicia being busy and worried about his mother all this time. He turned 19 and wanted to go to college by the time he was 20, but things have changed. His destiny was unknown.
He went to visit Alicia in the cell one night. There was coldness surrounding him.
He looked like a demon pulled from hell. Even the wolves guarding the cell had to step aside to let him pass. He was not the Alpha, but he possessed a majestic aura around him. He could make the Alphas bow to him.
Alicia was at the end of the dark corner in the cell. Coldness had seeped into her body, turning rigid. She was in a blink of death. She didn't utter a sound even when the door was opened. She had gotten used to Mitchel taunting her with words and physical abuse. Sometimes she wished she was dead but what she did to him was too much. She wanted him to punish her. That's the only way she could feel she had paid for it.
Jason stood there watching the rigid body at the corner. Was it not for his deep senses and hearing ability? He would've mistaken her for the dead.
There was a faint heartbeat in her. She would die at any moment if left without care.
He didn't speak and walked out.
"Get her out of there. Bring her to my chamber," he said to the two werewolves guarding the entrance. They didn't speak and looked at each other, questioning themselves.
"You heard him. Hurry up," the other one said as soon as he came to his senses. He heard rumors about how powerful he was. They didn't want to be his vent objects.
Soon, a hot bath was prepared in his bathtub, and a dead-looking woman was thrown in like a corpse. No sympathy whatsoever was shown to her. Alpha Damian had given his orders. They should listen to Jason's orders. He was considered second in command in the pack. The Beta didn't like it one bit. The hatred he felt for Jason intensified. He was indeed taking his place step at a time. Carly didn't like that one bit. But he was somehow to blame for what happened at the banker. All those people died because he could not keep his professionalism to work. He wanted to prove himself, and they ended up falling into the traps.
His Alpha was disappointed. It was his time to prove himself and not look for more trouble. He wanted to swallow everything, no matter how bitter it was. It was a matter of time.
Alicia regained consciousness in Jason's room and found Jason washing her body with warm water. He was gentle but at the same time aggressive.
She could see the struggle.
He was trying to control his anger and hatred. He seemed to feel her movement and stopped rubbing her. He stood up and threw the scrubber to her face. T hurt her eyes, but she didn't groan in pain.
" Thank you," she said in a low tone, looking into his eyes.
"Don't you think I forgive just because I allowed you to get soaked in a hot bath? I am yet to deal with you. Your death won't soothe my heart. It can neither bring my father back to living. I want him to watch the person who killed him live in pain and agony. That's your life from now on." He said, walking out of the bathroom. He didn't look back, and neither did she open her eyes when he walked out. She closed them in fear he would see the tears in her eyes.
She regretted it. She would've said no to his grandfather and protected him. He wasn't a werewolf, to begin with. She had been asking herself why her grandfather wanted to kill this family that much. There was something he was hiding. It seems he wanted something to make them disappear from the town.
She didn't share her doubts and fears with anyone. She didn't want to bring trouble to herself unless she was sure about it. Though she got close to Jason as requested, she never gave any information about him to her grandfather.
The environment was depressing. It was in the middle of nowhere. She would never have thought there was a portal separating the woods.
She walked out in a towel. Jason had gone out. He was in a state he could kill her. His love for her was getting in his way of revenge. Alicia found innerwear, trousers, bra, and top placed on the bed. She took and wore them. She didn't know what to do next and sat on the bed.
Jason came in a few moments later. He was stunned by the scene he saw on the bed. The damn woman had fallen asleep on his bed. He didn't waste a minute and walked toward her throwing her off the bed in rage.
