THE SHADOW OF MOON GODDESS

When he was on the verge of death under the attacks of hundreds of vampires, he felt like his soul was being pulled by a mysterious force, and when he opened his eyes again, he was on an unknown bridge.

The bridge was long, so long that he could not see the ends of either side, and it was like being hung by a big rope.

When he brought his blue eyes to look under the bridge, he couldn't even see the bottom of the bridge.

It was dark and deep, and there was a mysterious mist blocking his view of the area under the bridge. Davel was confused, and just as he was about to bring his feet to one of the bridge's directions, he suddenly heard a voice coming from behind.

"Are you sure you want to go that way?"

Davel had stopped his movement, and there were two reasons behind it. First, it was because he suddenly heard a voice when he was so sure that he was alone on the bridge. And second, it was because the voice sounded familiar to his ears.

His heart skipped a beat as he thought of the second possibility, and he carefully turned his body, only to immediately kneel when he recognized the person who had just asked him a question.

"Greetings, Moon Goddess," the Werewolf King suddenly acted so humble as he knelt before the majestic figure he had seen with his eyes a hundred years ago.

Long silver hair waved with the wind, a pair of silver eyes shone in a dark and desolate place, and the crescent mark on the forehead glittered along with the eyes.

It was the mighty Moon Goddess standing ten feet in front of him―

"I'm not Moon Goddess."

―or not.

Davel was one hundred percent sure that he had not mistaken the figure, but the figure said that she was not the mighty Moon Goddess.

The unexpected statement from the woman in white made Davel's forehead furrow, and he decided to ask, "I only saw Moon Goddess once, and that was a hundred years ago when she had just created an army of werewolves. However, I have never forgotten Moon Goddess's face since then, and I'm sure I didn't recognize you wrong, my Goddess."

Seeing how stubborn Davel was with his opinion, the silver-haired woman smiled understandingly. "You must be a loyal follower of the Goddess," she replied. "But, I didn't lie to you when I said I wasn't the Moon Goddess, so you can stop kneeling and stand up while we continue talking."

Davel was very confused right now. At first, he suddenly appeared on an unknown bridge that was so frightening the first time he brought his blue eyes to scan his surroundings. And then just as he was about to bring his feet in a direction, he suddenly heard a voice similar to that of the Moon Goddess. But, the owner of the voice insisted that she was not the Moon Goddess.

The mysterious woman had asked him to get up from his kneeling position, but he was deaf as he continued to kneel staring at the woman. "If you're not Moon Goddess, then, who are you? And where's Moon Goddess right now? Why doesn't she protect humans from vampires?"

At times, Davel could be greedy, and his character showed up at times like this. But, it was the holy figure who listened to his questions, and she didn't look angry at all.

"I will answer your questions one by one," replied the woman. "Firstly, I'm not the Moon Goddess, but I'm her shadow that has lived in your soul since a hundred years ago. And for your second and third questions, my answers will relate to each other."

It was like the nonsense he had just heard from the woman, and even if the woman did resemble the Goddess, he refused to immediately believe her.

"What kind of shadow are you? And what do you mean by the answers to my second and third questions will relate to each other?" Once again, Davel continued to question the woman while he was still in his kneeling position.

"I'm her shadow who helps you in any situation because you are the Werewolf King. You became the strongest werewolf because of me, and it's all because of the Moon Goddess's holy power, of course."

Davel was indeed the strongest werewolf, but he never knew that there was a shadow in his soul that had been helping him all along.

"You said that you helped me in any situation, but why did you let me die at the hands of the vampires?"

"..."

Dave was not stupid. Even if no one told him about what happened to him after hundreds of vampires attacked him, he knew what kind of end he had in the world. He also knew why he had suddenly appeared on this mysterious bridge.

And even if the woman couldn't answer his question, he still believed that he was indeed dead―

"You're not dead."

―or not.

Davel assumed that the woman was silent because she didn't know how to explain his death, but it was unexpected because the woman had just said that he wasn't dead.

"What... what do you mean by saying that I'm not dead? I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to escape from the vampires before I suddenly appeared here!" Davel suddenly looked frustrated, and he even raised his tone without realizing it.

Meanwhile, the woman who resembled the Moon Goddess was still calm as she replied, "You didn't die, and only your soul will temporarily leave your world. I was the one who summoned you here because I have a task for you."

The woman said something irrational again, and Davel continued to furrow his white brows as he continued to stare at the woman. "You have a task for me? What kind of task is it?"

It was all like a joke, but it was a dark joke to Davel. Instead of protecting humans and his kind, he was summoned by an unknown creature to this mysterious place. And that unknown creature said that she had a job for him.

It was like a joke, and Davel would scold the woman if the woman's face didn't resemble that of the Goddess.

"This job is very important, Davel. The Moon Goddess has died, and you must find her in another world."
