GOOD LUCK FROM THE GOOD DOCTOR

Lycia was an emergency medicine doctor who spent most of her time in the emergency room, but she needed to make sure that her patients were well when they were transferred from the emergency room to the ward.

When the patients were in bad condition while they were still in the emergency room, she had to make sure that their condition did not worsen when they were transferred to the ward.

Even if there was a nurse to help the patient, she would still personally check everything about the patients when they were already in the ward.

What happened tonight was no exception. After she informed the hospital staff that the patient's family requested a VIP ward, the hospital staff immediately prepared a room for the patient.

And when the room was ready, two nurses pushed the gurney into the VIP ward before helping the patient move into the hospital bed.

The patient had a history of heart disease, and that was why all monitoring devices were still attached to the patient's body aside from the intravenous fluids.

Even if the patient's condition looked stable now, the hospital would not take the risk and still took precautions while monitoring the patient.

After the nurse finished helping the patient in the hospital bed, Lycia then walked toward the patient with a smile on her face.

"Are you uncomfortable somewhere, sir? Like, are you having a headache or feeling nauseous? You can also tell me if you feel pain somewhere," she questioned the patient carefully as she stood by the hospital bed.

The patient didn't look pale or weak, but Lycia still asked to make sure the patient didn't have any more pain tonight.

"No," replied the patient curtly.

It was only a short answer, but Lycia was quite satisfied when she heard the answer.

The patient had lost his memory, and being surrounded by people he didn't know must have given him an uncomfortable feeling. Thus, Lycia did not feel offended by the cold treatment of the patient. She knew that the patient was still alert because he failed to recognize anyone in the room.

"So, another doctor will be assigned to our son tomorrow, doctor?"

Lycia heard the question, and when she turned to the side, she could see the patient's parents standing not far from her.

The one who just asked the question was the patient's mother, and Lycia answered politely, "Yes, madame. Another doctor will be assigned to the patient tomorrow, and they will be responsible for the patient's condition during the patient's stay in this hospital."

The young doctor just explained as she used to do, but to her surprise, the older woman seemed unhappy after hearing her explanation.

"Why won't you take care of our son while he is in this hospital, doctor?" The patient's mother asked another question, and it surprised Lycia.

The doctor still remembered how the woman looked angry when she suspected her of lying earlier, and she didn't expect that the woman wanted her to treat the patient.

The woman had looked fierce and arrogant before, but suddenly she was acting very friendly when she wished for Lycia to become the doctor who would be in charge of her son in the hospital.

"I'm just an emergency medicine doctor, madame. Your son will be treated by a senior doctor, and you don't have to worry about your son's condition under a senior doctor."

Lycia had explained, but the woman didn't seem to accept her explanation as she replied, "But, it was you who saved our son earlier, doctor. I think you bring positive vibes to our son, and I hope you can be the doctor who treats our son here."

Lycia was taken aback when she heard the statement, and even the nurses who were still in the room had the same expression on their faces.

The black-haired doctor had indeed experienced harsh and cold treatment from the patients' families during her career as a doctor, but it was the first time she experienced a moment when a patient's mother begged her to become the doctor in charge of her child.

Lycia looked like she was at a loss for words, but luckily, the woman's husband came to the rescue as he said, "Please don't mind my wife's words, doctor. My wife always believes in superstitions and things like that, and that's why she believes that you bring good luck to our son. You don't have to think about my wife's words, doctor."

The wife looked annoyed when she heard her husband's words, but she could only relent when she saw her husband's scolding stare at her.

Seeing how the couple interacted with each other, Lycia smiled before replying, "It's fine, sir. Even my mother still believes in shamans."

Lycia didn't know why she ended up bringing her mother into the conversation, but the woman did remind her of her mother because of her behavior of still believing in things like a shaman.

The middle-aged man smiled at her, and when Lycia felt that the couple would not say another word to her again, she was wrong because the woman suddenly spoke again, "If you can't be our son's doctor, can you visit our son once in a while when he stays in this hospital, doctor?"

It turned out that the woman was still stubborn, but because she reminded her so much of her mother, Lycia couldn't bear to refuse the request. "I'm going to visit your son, madame. You needn't worry."

And the woman smiled broadly after hearing the answer. Seeing the woman's reaction, Lycia then said goodbye.

She was about to leave the room, but not before she smiled at the quiet patient who was still lying on the hospital bed.

The patient didn't smile back, but Lycia didn't feel sad as she quickly left the room with the two nurses.

After arriving in front of the VIP ward, one of the two nurses suddenly muttered in a daze, "I can't believe I got to meet a superstar tonight. Is this a dream?"
