Amusement Park

"Will you give me your number if I ask you for it?" Evelyn slowly and carefully asked while checking for Landon's expression.

"Why?" he questioned.

Evelyn was tongue-tied at it for a while. What was she supposed to say? Because Ashley likes him that she wants his number. Evelyn wanted his number for her own selfish wishes to.

"Uhm, ah, so I can't have it without a valid reason?" She stumbled upon her words.

"I prefer to not randomly give out my number," he expressed.

Evelyn paused before nodding. It was understandable. She wouldn't be giving out her number to someone who asked for it randomly either. It sounded creepy.

As she was about to thank him for his time and leave, he added, "but I suppose it would be convenient."

Convenient?

Was it because she stayed at his place?

Or could it be because of something else?

That got her cheeks heating up, and if it wasn't for the fact she stood before Landon, she would have slapped herself. She should stop with her delusions.

"Thank you."

Once she got Landon's number and left, May and Ashley cornered her to ask for his number. But Evelyn then remembered that Landon was pretty private with his number. Therefore, she would be only betraying his trust by spreading his number.

That's why, wearing a disappointed expression, she shook her head at them, saying Landon refused. This made the two of them scoff while seeming dissatisfied. Judging from that expression on their face, they had more to say but held back the words.

Next few days, Evelyn felt the two of them alienating her again and had a keen idea that this resulted from her failure to give them Landon's number. Nevertheless, a day later, she learned that Ashley managed to get Landon's number without her help.

This made Evelyn fear that the two of them would be abandoning her. No matter how tiresome this friendship was, she found it better than being alone.

Then, after probably deciding she was punished enough, May approached her along with Ashley. She handed Evelyn a gift box with letter, ordering her to drop it off on Landon's table.

Despite how lowly they considered Evelyn, she still had her pride. These days, she tried her best to apologize to them and be close to them yet they avoided her like plague. And now, they wanted her to use her when it was convenient.

Evelyn's hesitancy May speak out, "I know, you are a good friend, aren't you, Evelyn? Look, I was planning to go the amusement park tomorrow. We can go together. You have free time, right?"

This made Evelyn rethink her decision.

Amusement park.

She badly wanted to go. Evelyn never visited the amusement park. She always wanted to nonetheless. Growing up, she heard Annalise speak of the place many times. It started with her being excited to go to the place when she was a child before she got bored of it and complained when her parents suggested bringing her over to the amusement park during holidays.

Evelyn wish she had the luxury to get bored of amusement parks.

Amusement park wasn't a place she could go on her own, and she never had friends. That's why, in order to fulfill the obsession in her heart when it came to amusement park, Evelyn agreed.

It's not like they are making her do anything bad. Although she didn't know why Ashley couldn't do it on her own, it's fine. She would just have to walk to the classroom few doors away.
