Asa POV:
Asa backed away from Jacob. He didn’t know if he could trust the shifter in front of him. He wondered if Jacob planned some kind of trick.
“I swear Asa, you don’t have to be afraid of me,” Jacob said and Asa scoffed.
“You kidnapped me? You wounded me! I still have the scars, of course I should be afraid of you. I know what you are capable of,” Asa accused.
How could he trust Jacob, just like that?
Asa knew people thought of him as naive, but this was too much.
“I know you think that I wanted to hurt you. But even from the beginning, I never wanted to hurt you. I didn’t mean to wound you. I swear. I just wanted to grab you to keep you close until I could explain why we should be together. Think about It Asa. When I took you from Chris, did I ever hurt you?” He asked and Asa shook his head.
“No, but—” Asa began before faltering.
What could he say to that?
Jacob hadn’t hurt him since the first night, and even then, he’d only meant to grab him.
