The Iceberg is Melting

She began to walk faster out the door and said, "Yeah, I'm on my way, but I don't know where we'll meet. I told you to send me the address, right?" She said while she was opening the door. Cassandra stopped when she saw her mom and dad standing in front of the doorstep.

"Mom, I've been looking all over for you. I'm going ou–" Cassandra's line was cut off when she noticed that her parents were looking astounded. She looked at where they were staring at and there she saw a jet-black car parked outside their house.

"What on earth is he doing here?" Cassandra uttered as her eyes were left wide open while looking at the luxurious car and the man who was leaning on it.

It was Greyson Avery with his white shirt and a pair of signature black pants, white sneakers, and black shades on. His getup was too simple, but it definitely looked different on him. Even the girls from the neighborhood were stealing glances at him because he really looked hot and princely.

"What are you doing here, Greyson? I told you to just send me the address. Look, you're getting our neighbors' attention. Even my mom and dad." She nagged right away the moment that she approached Greyson. She quickly looked at them and their gazes were still on the both of them, watching very carefully.

He took off his sunglasses and just smirked at her. He couldn't believe how breathtaking she looked as her skin was glowing while the sun rays were touching her delicate and fair skin. She looked vibrant with her puff sleeves backless dress in khaki color and her eyes and lips just complimented every facial feature she had.

"Hey, Greyson, I'm talking to you." Cassandra called out to him while snapping her fingers, so he finally came back to his senses and looked at the woman in front of him.

He cleared his throat and fixed his posture. "I said, you're already late, so I decided to just fetch you up. But before that, I still have to say "Hi" to your mom and dad since I don't want to be rude." Greyson said, then he just grabbed Cassandra's hand as they walked over to where her parents were.

"W-What? N-No! Stop it, let me go." She nagged in a whisper as she tried to remove Greyson's hand which was gripping her hand tightly, but it didn't even budge until they arrived in front of them. Cassandra didn't have that much of a choice, but to smile in front of her parents and greet them.

"Hi, mom… and dad." She awkwardly greeted them. Sylver and Amaia didn't know how they would respond to their daughter, but they were obviously speechless that the man with the expensive car was their daughter's visitor.

"Cassy… who is this man?" Amaia asked, trying to be as polite as she could.

Before Cassandra could even utter another word, Greyson Avery already extended his hand to greet her parents. "Good day, Mr. and Mrs. Harper. My name is Greyson Avery and Cassandra is my friend."

"Good day to you, too, Greyson. This is the first time that we saw each other. New friend?" Sylver asked him with a very serious tone of voice, but he eventually shook hands with Greyson.

"Yes, sir. I'm just asking your daughter for an important favor for today, if you may, can we go out for a while?" He asked politely as if he was really a professional.

On the other hand, Cassandra felt like there was not enough oxygen around the area and she couldn't breathe properly because of how her mother was looking at her. It wasn't a glare, but she could tell that she had so much to say to her, so she just looked away.

"Okay, we will let you go this time, but make sure to drop my daughter home before it gets dark. We're really strict when it comes to her time." Amaia answered with a smile on her face, pinching Sylver in his arms because she saw that he was about to protest her decision.

"Okay, you can go ahead now." Sylver said, forcing himself to smile just for a little while but it was still too obvious that she was against it.

"Thanks, mom and dad. We'll go ahead now, then. I'll just see you later." Cassandra kissed them on the cheeks and then they rushed to flee the area before her mom's decision would change.

"Tick-tock, sweetie," Sylver said without a sound, gesturing her hand to the wristwatch he was wearing.

Cassandra looked away in an instant, then they got inside the car. It really had an expensive interior just by looking at it although she wasn't a car expert. She heaved out a deep sigh and said, "Please, drive the car now." in a serious manner.

Greyson couldn't understand her, but he just followed her request since she really looked uncomfortable. He began to drive the car away from their house. "Just chill out, Cassandra." he told her as a grin flashed on his lips.

"Uh, I don't know. A lot of things are giving me a headache." She grunted, holding her temple. "Oh, yeah. By the way, where are we going exactly? You haven't told me the details yet. You just made me dress up without knowing anything." Cassandra added, then she looked at Greyson who was so focused on driving.

"We're going to Narcissus. You gotta pick a wedding gown since our wedding is getting nearer." Greyson told her so casually with a smirk on his face.

"A bridal shop?" She asked with hesitation but was happy deep down in her little heart.

Cassandra seemed apprehensive when Greyson informed her that they were headed to a bridal boutique. The butterflies in her tummy seemed to be fluttering about freely. When she heard him say it was their wedding, she felt a sense of relief since she was finally included although it was just a fake wedding.
