Wanted to See Her

He just suddenly looked out of nowhere and wasn't able to listen to what Sebastian was trying to say. He kept on talking, but Greyson was having his own conversation together with his mind.

There was a part of him that agreed with his buddy, but there was also a part of him that said he wasn't ready to perform such a duty since his pride was on the line. For Pete's sake, he was the owner and CEO of GA Technologies.

"This woman named Cassandra Harper? She needs you, man." Sebastian uttered and Cassandra's name fully caught Greyson's attention.

"Cassandra? Why do you say that?" He asked once again.

"I had no idea you could be that dense, Grey. This is a great opportunity to show your foolishness. Cassandra needs you to help her out with your act. I know it will be tough, but make an attempt to put any effort into the wedding and get to know her, even if she is only hired as Astrid's proxy for the wedding." Sebastian said, then he drank the rest of the tea from the cup.

A deep and refreshing exasperated breath was released from his mouth as he shrugged off his shoulders as if he was telling Greyson that he should think about all his decisions in life.

After the two talked, Greyson headed to the recreation area while Sebastian already left the country club. He wanted to think more of what his friend had said about Cassandra. Greyson took the cue stick on the side, then assembled the pool balls on the top middle of the rectangular table.

He looked around to look for the white ball, but he couldn't see it. It was supposed to be together with the balls with designated numbers on it, but that was the only ball missing.

"Hey, there, handsome. Are you looking for this cute cue ball?" A seductive voice of a woman was heard from behind, so Greyson looked back and saw that a slender woman looking so sexy and attractive was biting her lips while looking at Greyson from head to toe as if she was examining his insides.

He just stared at the woman plainly and he looked unbothered by her presence. "Yes, I'm looking for that. Thanks." Greyson replied, then he tried to get the cue ball but the woman swished her hand.

"Hmm. That's great. I'm also looking for someone to play with actually. An answered prayer that you came over." The woman uttered, keeping her alluring tone of voice to tempt the man. She slowly moved forward to Greyson and took the cue stick in his hand.

"My name is Bethany, by the way. Are you new here?" She asked while she was placing the cue ball in the middle, then she bent over to calculate the angle and force she was going to put into the cue stick.

Greyson just stared at her, then at the table, letting Bethany shoot the green ball to the hole to the lower right, near him.

A sneer of victory flashed through her face when she turned to face him. She licked her lips while she looked at Greyson's lips. "Are you down for a little game?" She asked with a smirk.

If he was only in his usual self, he would probably go for her, but his mind was preoccupied with Cassandra and Sebastian's words. Without him noticing, he was somewhat changing his attitude whenever he would think of Cassandra's reaction if she would see him now.

Bethany was so surprised to see the smile on Greyson's lips, the smile that she had been waiting for. She knew that he was the Greyson Avery, the billionaire who owned GA Technologies, so she approached him in an instant.

"Show me what you've got, babe." She whispered to herself.

"I'll end this little game of yours, Bethany." He said, then he focused on the game.

Greyson began to slouch after accurately calculating all of the pool balls' angles. He shot them one by one, without letting Bethany take her turn again. His calculations were so precise that even the players at the opposite table were drawn to them.

After shooting the last pool ball in the hole in front of Bethany, he looked at her astounded face. Greyson had a poker face and they all knew that he wasn't in the mood for any jokes.

"Here's the cue stick. Challenge someone else because I'm not in the mood." He blankly told Bethany, then he began to walk out of the recreation area.

The moment that he stepped out of the room, he could hear the people inside the room cheering for him. They were so amazed that he just dumped a woman in front of everyone when in fact, Greyson Avery was also known for his exquisite behavior.

"Tsk, they never learn a thing." He told himself, shaking his head left and right.

He thought that his friend Sebastian was right; Cassandra was putting too much effort to make their acting work and that was for the sake of Astrid and their wedding to continue, so might as well he would start to fend off the temptations surrounding him.

He immediately went to his car and started the engine. He was thinking of going somewhere because he felt off about the woman back at the country club. Greyson wasn't sure of where he wanted to go, but he wanted to take a rest for quite some time.

Without noticing, he unconsciously stopped in front of the Secret Tavern where he knew that Cassandra was still working. His hands and feet were in unison to lead him back there and for some unknown reason, he really wanted to see Cassandra before the day would end.

"I-It's Mr. Avery! He's here, everyone, get your head in the game!" Eleanor informed the people at the dining hall the moment that she saw Greyson enter the restaurant.

"What? What's he doing here?" One of their co-workers inside the main kitchen said.

"Dear, do I look okay? He must be looking for me. Oh, gosh. He really looks too ravishing! I can't stand his dazzlingness." Another staff member from the main kitchen uttered as if she was daydreaming.

When they realized that a very important personality, such as Greyson Avery, was in the building, everyone began to panic. They were aware that their clients all had huge names, but Greyson would just come up with something unusual, especially since he was Cassandra's fiancé, one of their colleagues.

"Oh, no. He must be here for you, Cassy. What do you think?" Eleanor turned to look at Cassandra, but she was nowhere to be found. However, after looking at her surroundings, she found Cassandra in the dining hall, serving a guest at the table next to where Greyson Avery was currently sitting.
