Chapter 9 - How About a Movie

Chapter 9 - How About a Movie

Monday 6:30pm

Aztec Mall

"We made it in time." August said as they watched as the sun set on the horizon. Emma wanted to say so much but settled for a, "It's beautiful." August looked at her and smiled. "After this do you wanna see a movie?" he asked, looking at Emma. If she didn't look beautiful before, the sunset in the background was most definitely doing her some justice.

"Sure, let me guess, the mall has a theatre?" she asked with a slight chuckle. August laughed along with her before nodding, "It does actually." They stayed on the roof for a few minutes before they left. "Lead the way Sir." joked Emma as she followed behind August on the staircase down.

"Do you wanna give me my bags back? I don't feel as tired anymore." Emma didn't feel that it was right to have someone else carry her luggage especially if that person wasn't hired. "I'm fine Emma, the bags are light."

They made their way to the ground floor where the theatre was located. "What movie should we see? They're showing Diana, Anything for my Queen and A journey to the higher realm." "Let's go for Diana. I've been hearing about that one for a while and I heard it was set in the past and involves magic." Emma spoke so excitedly you could practically see stars in her eyes.

"Anything the lady commands." he joked as he went up to the ticket booth.

"Two tickets for Diana please."

"That'll be $50.00. You can buy food once inside." the ticket agent instructed. August nodded before leading Emma further into theatre. "Wow, it's even bigger than the shoe's store, and that place was huge." she said in shock. How did they even fit all this into the shopping centre? She knew that mall was huge but damn.

"If you're done being shocked, why don't you go and pick up some food?"

"But I don't know what you like." Emma muttered.

"I'm not allergic to anything and I eat nearly everything." August told her before going to stand near a wall so as not to block others. At this point she thought he was straight up setting her up for failure. She went over to the counter and nearly made orders.

"Two buckets of popcorn, half with powdered Nacho, half with Caramel, one Pepsine, one Spirite and a packet of Jelly beans."

"That'll be $42.79. Feel free to leave a tip." smiled the cashier as she packaged Emma's items. Emma gave her a $50 bill before somehow walking over to August with all the stuff. "Let's go." She waited on him to lead the way into the main area where they contemplated where to sit.

"Let's sit in the raised back corner, that way we can see over all the heads and have some privacy." Emma suggested. This suggestion led to August smirking at her. "Privacy? What do you want to do to me Emma?" he asked, making his way over to the suggested seats leaving her a stuttering mess.

"You know that's not what I meant." she whisper-yelled following behind him. After they began seated Emma handed out the snacks where they proceeded to make small talk until the movie began.

"Cheesy and Caramel popcorn? Not a bad choice, I'll take the Pepsine and Jelly beans."

"Now hold on, I bought those Jelly beans for myself, you can have SOME though." she said, placing emphasis on the some.

"Whatever."

It didn't take too long for the movie to begin and they used the time before to get to know each other a bit more, nothing too personal, at least that's what Emma thought.

Throughout the movie they continued to make small talk making sure not to be too loud as to disturb anyone.

"That was really fun, we should do it again." suggest Emma excitedly as she disposed of their trash. "Anytime you want I'll certainly be up for it." August smiled down at her causing her to go red.

"A-anyway, we should be getting home now, it's 9:40 now." she stuttered out.

"Of course, let's go."

They left the shopping centre with August carrying the bags much to Emma's displeasure. "You don't need to carry my bags, August. I have hands you know."

"I never asked if you had hands or not, it's a distance to the café and you were tired earlier, just let me bring them."

"Fine." she pouted as she followed August back to the café. "The stars are beautiful tonight." Emma said, looking up at the clear sky. The moon along with the help of street lights were illuminating their path. The stars were twinkling and the night felt perfect.

"We passed a park on our way to town, can we stop there for a bit to admire the sky? You don't have to agree, I know you have stuff to d-" "It's fine Emma." August chuckled, cutting her off. "Oh" she blushed.

It took about ten minutes for them to arrive at the park and they opted for sitting on the swing instead of a bench. "Do you know the constellations?" August asked intrigued. "No, but I do know the Zodiacs, I'm a Pisces. Born on February 24."

August chuckled at her response. "I'm a Capricorn, January 19. I can show you some of the other constellations if you'd like."

"Ouuuu, Capricorn, that means you're destined for wealth." she laughed. "I'd love to see the other constellations."

And so the two spend time in the park staring at constellations and getting to know each other even more. "Emma?" he called her, once he noticed that he was no longer getting responses. He turned in her direction only to see that she fell asleep.

August laughed before calling Hans to come and assist him with the luggage.

"Aww, she fell asleep after your date." teased Sam once they entered the café. Rebecca subtly glared at Samantha for her outrageous suggestion while August only rolled his eyes before handing Emma over to Sam, "Bring her to her room. Hans will bring up her bags." he told her, giving her the spare room key.

August flopped onto a chair mentally summoning the energy to get up and close the café. Around fifteen minutes later, the café was closed and August headed up for bed.
