Chapter 90: Tsunade vs Roshi (Part I)

~Kage Booth~

Hiruzen laughed greatly at seeing both shinobi of his Village give such great performances.

'To think that they both would be able to showcase combat ability that could rival many elite Chunin. Nara's have always had a close relationship with our clan, so seeing that the boy is able to give a strong performance is most definitely reassuring.' Hiruzen thought to himself.

He then placed his eyes upon Kenta, with a strange glint flashing through his eyes as he looked at him. He then looked towards his trusted teammate Kagami who stood in the stands, and he seemed to make a silent decision to himself.

However, the other Kage were not amused as they all saw the potential that both shinobi possessed and the danger they could hold in the future.

'Perhaps it's about time we began preparing for war. Even if Konoha doesn't have any desire for conquering, it's always best to be prepared in case war does break out. Though I won't be able to casually begin the war as the action could see us facing hostility from multiple Villages instead of simply Konoha.' the Third Tsuchikage thought to himself.

~Stadium~

Back on the floor, Kenta enjoyed his victory while Shikai was helped by multiple medical ninjas.

The stage was then gradually cleared, with Shikai being sent to the medical ward while Kenta joined his friends in the stands.

"Wow Kenta, I didn't expect you to win the match with a Genjutsu, I didn't even notice it until the end. Such powerful YOUTH!!" Dai yelled as his eyes glittered while looking at Kenta.

Everyone ignored Dai though, with them instead focusing on the next match, with them understanding its importance.

Tsunade was practically the leader of the younger generation of shinobi, and if she were to be defeated by a shinobi from Iwa, it would be closer to saying that the future of Konoha isn't as great as theirs.

Tsunade showcased a serious look as she mentally prepared herself for the match.

'Battling a Jinchuriki may be one of the most difficult things I've ever done. Sensei said he'd keep multiple Uzumaki Clan Shinobi nearby, but theirs no telling if they will be able to seal him in a quick enough time. It'll be up to me then.' Tsunade thought to herself as she walked to the waiting room.

After a few more minutes of preparations, the announcer stood in the center of the ring and announced the next match.

"The next match will be between Tsunade Senju of Konoha and Roshi of Iwa!!"

The crowd erupted into cheers as they all viewed this as one of the anticipated matches of the Exams.

Tsunade entered and stared Roshi directly in the eye, with the red-haired boy doing the same as they both created a tense situation just off this alone.

The announcer raised his hand and spoke

"BEGIN!!"

With the signaling of the beginning of the match, both Tsunade and Roshi seemed to disappear from their locations to the confusion of the fans, though they then saw the two directly in the middle of the ring with both punching each other.

The attack created a massive amount of pressure that completely shattered the center of the ring, showcasing just how physically strong the two were from their encounter.

Tsunade then spun and attempted a backhand, though Roshi blocked it with his forearm and countered with a punch of his own.

Tsunade caught it and threw Roshi back to the opposite side of the ring, putting them both in the same positions that they had started in.

The two stared at each other once more, with them both weaving few handsigns before Roshi emitted a powerful lava blast and Tsunade spewed a tsunami out of her mouth.

The attacks met and created a massive explosion and a ungodly amount of steam.

This signaled the true beginning of the battle between Tsunade and Roshi
