"So have you done it?", Jason asked for the umpteenth time as I groaned in annoyance.
"Stop it, Jay." Frank stopped Jason from pestering me any further.
I suck the nicotine from my cigarette as I gaze through the empty space. Last night was a not a total waste, Jessica, my mate to be was a beauty to behold but I didn't feel any other attraction towards her except just a booty call.
I turned my gaze towards the direction of the grass field and heaved a sigh. I wanted to see that wolf again and for some weird reason I seem to miss it.
Suddenly, I caught a whiff of a familiar scent that made me jump out of my seat. Pushing pass the others I quickly dash down the stairs and into the main hall, ignoring the greetings from the guests that my father invited.
It can't be real. I shook the thought that the wolf was foolish enough to venture into our land. He was far too smart. I continued to convince myself as I pass through a couple of Jessica's pack.
Suddenly, a hand grabbed my shoulder and I immediately turned around with a growl. Harrold yelped as he released his hold on me as Frank and the others looked frightened.
"What!", I growled.
"Uh...Er..." Harrold stuttered as Frank shove pass him and explained.
"There's a rouge wolf outside. The warriors have spotted it approaching the mansion and is now trying to subdue it." He spoke as my head snapped towards the door. My feet started to walk towards it as my heart seems to beat frantically.
But before I could reach the mansion's front door, it was forcefully swung open by a bloodied black wolf.
The whole hall gasped at the seeming less lifeless body who was a few feet away from me. My eyes flashed red as I glared towards the direction of the door.
There stood a naked man drenched in blood. A couple of scratches would be seen on his skin as my canines started to show.
In a blink of an eye, I rushed forward , lunging my hand at his throat but I suddenly caught the bright green eyes of the man which made me stop when I was only few inches away from him.
I remember those eyes but they seem different. Those were the eyes I seem to feel comfortable with but these eyes were full of rage.
The man scowled and stared directly at my eyes, like he was looking through my soul. I relaxed from my attacking position to look at him at eye level. My eyes never leaving his as his kept trained into mine.
The staring contest was cut short when I heard him growl loudly but I felt he wasn't growling at me. His eyes now looking pass me as I turned around to look at the direction he was glaring at.
And there stood my father with a wine glass over his fingers as he seemed to be tensed at the sight of the guy behind me.
"Lance!", the guy yelled making the whole mansion quiver except me and my old man. "You shouldn't touch what's mine!"
I turn to look at him after he said those words like I knew who he was implying to.
"Excuse me?" I scowled as I crossed my arms over my chest as I glared at him. "I don't belong to anyone especially you!" I shove him by pinning my ring finger over his bare chest.
He glared at me and swiftly pulled my sweatshirt and crashed our lips together. I heard everyone gasp as I tried to pull out of the kiss. He glared at me as he bit my lower lip before pushing me away.
Instinctively, I wiped my lips with my right arm before glaring darts at him. And before he could react, I gave a strong right hook over his jaw as his head snapped from the impact.
"And don't fucking do that again, fag!" I cussed as I balled up my fist for another punch.
"Blake Dmitri Fang!" My mother's voice rang through my ears as she strides towards me. "I didn't brought you into this world to cuss people!"
My mom looked sternly at me before looking at the guy before me. She reached out her hand to cup his face and I readied myself if he plans to attack my mother. I threatened him with a growl but my mom glared back at me and I sighed at defeat but not leaving my sights on him.
He looked down at my mom as we are scarily the same height. Now that I manage to observe him closely, we were closely the same built as well. My mom carefully wiped the blood from his face and as soon she looked into a partial view of his face, she let out a gasp.
"Oh, my." She covered her mouth with her left hand. She looked at my father before returning her gaze back to him who was confused at my mom's reaction. "What was your name again?"
"Aries." We both replied in unison as my mother seem to be amused.
"And your last name." Aries looked at everyone before looking back at my mother.
"Storm, ma'am." He politely replied as my mother seemed to nod while taking side glances at the dispersing crowd.
She looked at Aries and gave a weak smile as she softly caressed his bloodied cheek. She looked at him like he was someone she knew.
Aries seemed confused as he lightly grabbed my mother's hand, reluctantly at first but I gave him an approving nod as he smiled at her.
"Something wrong, Mrs. Fang?" He asked as my mother shook her head.
"No. No. Nothings wrong my dear." She replied as she was about to burst into tears. He pulled his arm and motioned him to follow her. "Come. Let's get you cleaned up."
Aries threw a questioning look at me as I gave him a confused look back. I looked at his eyes and they seem to beg me to help him and for some reason I followed them to the guest quarters.
My mom pushed Aries into the bathroom before she quickly went to the drawers to look for clean clothes for him to wear. The sound of the shower started as it queued me to enter and found the sad look on my mother's face.
"That won't fit him." I said as I stopped her from rummaging the next drawer. "I'll get my clothes. It'll fit him."
She stopped and quickly wrapped her arms around me in a tight embrace. I was shocked to see her so beaten for once. I always thought of her as a very strong woman especially she was married to my father.
Her sobs soon stopped as she pulled herself away from me while wiping her eyes.
"You didn't tell me he was your mate." She started trying to look stern. I averted my eyes away from her as I look for a plausible reason. "You told me your mate was homophobic and rejected you but the young over there isn't anything you described!"
She frowns and walks pass me as I followed her. She swiftly went straight to my room as I was behind her all the way. When we're inside she crosses her arms and looks at me like I stolen a cookie from the pastry jar when I was 6.
I looked at her confused as she taps her feet on the floor in an angry manner. She shifted her eyes towards my cabinet before looking back at me. I followed suite as I looked for clothes for Aries to wear.
"Why did you reject him?" She asked. I paused from searching and pursed my lips. "Is it because he's a guy?"
Those words pierces my chest and made it ache but I nod in reply. My mother sighed and wrapped her arms around my shoulders.
"Did you love him then?" She asked and I tensed. She might have felt my stiffness and released me from the hug and went to my side to look at my face.
"No." I replied as I avoid to look at her eyes.
"Blake don't lie. Look at me and say it." She said. "Did you felt something for him?"
Did I? Did I felt something from him other than anything sexual. Maybe. Yes. No. Ugh! This is frustrating. I don't know if I liked him back then. Maybe it was the mating pull. But as I look into my mother's eyes, I just swallowed and the following words escaped my mouth.
"I don't know."
She looked lovingly at me as she cupped my face. She leaned and gave a kiss on my forehead before letting go.
"It's OK sweetheart. I know its confusing but if I knew earlier I would have been there to support you." She said as I felt a lump on my chest. "So just forgive him for his actions today. He might be afraid from -"
"No." I spat which stunned my mom from my outburst. I gripped on the piece of fabric I was holding as my fist shook from my hold. "If there's someone who need to be forgiven..." I looked at my mother with tears forming from my eyes. A sign of weakness my father instilled in me but today I'll break the dam open from all this pent up emotions. "... I should be forgiven, ma. I did nothing but to deny him."
My mother pulled me into a hug as she soothes me by rubbing her hand at my back.
"Don't blame yourself honey. It will be alright. You'll both move on."
I buried my face in my mother's shoulder and burst out into sobs.
"I-I think I can't." I stuttered.
"Why is it, honey." She asked confused.
"Be-because..." I paused to verify the truth of what I'm about to say. "... I think I-I'm fa-falling for him..."
And like that I felt a huge weight has just been lifted from my shoulders. My mother grabbed my shoulders and held me until we see face to face. As I look into her, her smile was visible and she was practically happy at my revelation.
"I'm happy for you son!" She beamed.
I smiled at her coyly as I wiped the tears from my eyes, grabbing the clothes that I was lending Aries.
"I ain't queer or anything, ma." I frowned trying to convince me more than her but she just smiled.
"I don't care on whatever labels you young folks want to put on it but I'm just glad that you finally found something worth it." She replied but suddenly stopped. "Oh, my! But you're not mates anymore."
"Yeah. We kind of gone through that a few weeks from now." I retorted. My mom glared at me as she slaps my arm roughly, making me yelp. "What?"
"Reconcile with him." She said as she stood up and looked down on me. I gave her a confused look before standing up.
"You're fine with me having a male mate but you're not OK with me having girlfriends?" I asked. "And what good would it do? We already severed the bonds that makes us mates and last I checked, the old man already engaged me with Jessica."
"But do you love Jessica?" She asked.
"I don't know what that has to -"
"Just answer the question, Blake." She places her hands on her hips showing the seriousness in her question.
"No."
"And that's the answer. So, quit moping around and take those clothes to him." She pushed me outside my room and down the stairs.
When we arrive at the guest quarters, Aries was drying his hair with a piece of white towel. When out eyes met I saw a slight glint in his green eyes but was soon gone as he averted his gaze towards my mother.
"I would like to apologize for the trouble I caused, Mrs. Fang." Aries said as my mom shook her head.
"There's nothing to apologize, Stephen." My mom gasped after she realized what he called Aries.
"It's Aries, ma." I corrected her but Aries raised a brow.
"Excuse me but why do you know the name of my father?"
