Green: Uncertain

"What are you thinking?" Zephyr asked as I look at him with a questioning brow. "Something troubling you?"

"Why'd you ask?" I asked back as I watched mom's car drive infront of us.

"Well, you are spacing out for a minute there." He said as I averted his accusing eyes at me. "I hope it doesn't involve about him?"

I can't help but sigh deeply at that. I look at him as his eyes were now focused on the road.

"Who? Blake." I quipped, slumping back at my seat.

"Who else." He retorted. "He's the only one occupying your mind, Aries. It's not healthy even for you. Being a werewolf doesn't make us invulnerable to stress you know. Sooner or later it will take a toll on you and I won't be standing here for that time to come."

"Heh. That would be the day." I joked coldly.

"Quite joking, Aries." He steps on the brakes abruptly as I was pushed forward. With my fast reflex I was able to grab the front board in time. I snap my head towards him and was about to give him a scolding but his eyes were burning with rage. "It's not funny!" He scolded. "I'm not telling you this because you're my Alpha but because you're my friend!"

He glared at me and his hands found my shoulders. He was shaking and I don't know what to say. Here I was again. Being hopeless in spite of everyone being supportive and caring about my well being.

"Aries, please. Just please think about yourself for once." Zephyr pleaded as he brought his left arm to cover his eyes. "I know it's not in your nature to but for once. Just this once. Could you at least be selfish and think about yourself."

I sighed. Could I do such a thing?

"I -" I pursed my lips as struggle to find the right answer. My back pressed idly at the car's seat as Zephyr brought his hands back to the wheel but not starting the car. "I don't want to - you know..." I started as his eyes trained straight forward, fists clenching the wheel. "Zephyr, I don't know. For now, I am not in the position to decide on whether... " I breathed in and sighed heavily as I try to see what I'm about to say was true to what my heart is feeling. "I should give up on us. Blake didn't."

"But he did." He stated coldly as fast my last phrase escaped my lips. "He's still that douchebag of an Alpha. Can't you see he's just playing with you!"

"He's not!" I retorted making Zephyr clench his teeth. "He didn't meant it nor he did that to me on purpose. I just know."

"And what proof do you have on that?!" Zephyr looked at me. "You're one to base things on facts, Aries. It's all in your face already. So why do you still -"

"Because I love him!" I blurted out in frustration and when I finally gathered my thoughts on what I just said Zephyr my cheeks flare up as he started to chuckle coldly.

"Care to repeat what you just said just now?"

"Shu-shut u-up! I don't need to repeat myself." I replied as I turned my head away from him. Feeling my face starting to heat up. But I could feel his stares drilling at the back of my head. "Alright! Alright! Fine, if you really want to know. I love him! I fucking love Blake!"

Zephyr turned his face towards the road and started the car with a blank look on his face.

"What?! Just that..." I asked irritated. "No counter arguments? It's not like you would give up so easily when it comes to Blake."

"You just said your reason." Zephyr scowled. "You liked that bastard and I'm not standing in the way for that."

"Huh?"

"I'm just making sure it wasn't the mate pull that making you go crazy." Zephyr continued. "At least I know you had something far more reasonable to still believe in a dick like him."

"Zephyr, I -"

"No, need to explain, Aries. As I said before, I'm your friend and I'll support you and it seems you really took that being selfish suggestion to heart there." Zephyr said as we caught up with mom's car.

"I wasn't selfish." I groaned.

"Yes you were." He smirked.

"And when was that?" I challenged him.

"When you decided to deny my request to stop from thinking about Blake." Zephyr replied triumphantly as I can't help but shake my head.

"Got me there, didn't you."

"Sure did."

"Touché." I replied as I felt at ease for some reason. I'm going to make things right this time. No more second guessing. No more doubting. I'll believe in Blake. No. My faith is with him. Just you wait you crazy wolf. I'm sure to sweep your feet when we meet again. A smirk graces my lips as those thoughts came to mind.

In a few minutes we were all coming out of our vehicles at the pack's front lawn. I looked at the hunter exiting the vehicle as he seem to look at the place with a mixture of sadness and happiness mirroring on his eyes.

Mom looked at him as if he would disappear all of a sudden. She glanced at me and gave me a smile before approaching the hunter. He smiled at her and grabbed her shoulder.

Zephyr and I approached them and he dropped his hand off my mother's shoulder. He gave me a apologetic smile as I just patted his arm as an okay. He sure won't try anything on my mother.

"Are you sure you won't want me to dispose my weapons before entering the pack house?" The hunter spoke before we approached the entrance. "I might cause harm."

"There's nothing I couldn't handle." I replied with a shrug.

"Heh. Cocky as your old man." He smirked as we continued to the door. Zephyr and Sera opened the door as mother and the others entered.

"I'm not cocky." I retorted as we proceeded to the visitor's hall. "I'm just stating that if you try anything remotely harmful to anyone here. Let's just say it won't be nice for you." I glared at him warningly as he seem to be grinning from ear to ear.

"Heh. I'll take my chances." He replied as he scanned the hall. "It seems nothing changed here a lot. I see that painting's still there." He points at a rather old painting at the far end of the hall.

"Well, I see you're sure in your abilities." I gesture him for a seat. He nodded as he removed his coat and hung it at the coat rack at the corner. He still knows where things are.

"Well, we spar a lot during our time. Stephen was more of a strategist than a fighter back then." He started as he crossed his left leg while slinging his elbows at the back seat. "I remember him beating me one time during a brawl."

I smiled at the thought. He sure knows about my father, the side of him being a reckless teen during his prime. Mother normally refrains from talking about these stuff as she always tell of tales of praise of my father.

"I see." I mused as he leans over and gave me an annoying look as if he's scrutinising my very being. "Uhm, is there a problem?"

"Uhm, nothing." He shrugged as he leaned back. "I thought I might see something even a tint of him in you?"

"I'm sure I'm different from my father in some way." I replied as he shook his head.

"You got most of Stephen's qualities I'm sure of that." He yawned as I raised a brow in confusion. He doesn't make sense what so ever as I try to understand what he was saying. "Sorry, I shouldn't be talking about your late father. It must be hard."

"I really don't know." I clasped my hands together as I fiddle with my thumb. "I mean I never knew him as a father when I grew up."

"Did he passed away before you were born?" He asked.

"Yes." I nodded. "But I'm not sad or anything from knowing that. I have great stories about him when growing up and in a sense I became inspired by the life he lived. So I guess I'm his son after all."

"Yes you are." He smiled as he looked up. "I'm sure he's proud off you as well."

"Thanks." I thanked him as he smirked at me.

"You're welcome. I guess that's my job as a godfather anyways." He waved his hand in the air. "I'm sorry your dad or whatever ever you call him has to go through that. I guess it was hard for him to lose a mate in Stephen."

"What are you talking about, Quezon?" I raised a brow. "I don't know what are you talking about."

"What do you mean?" He replied as his eyes grew large in surprise. He pursed his lips as he started to scratch the back of his head. "Oh. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that?"

"Said what?!" I could feel my blood starting to boil in this confusing state.

"Just. Just forget anything I said." Quezon averted his eyes as I glared at him. He's hiding something. I just know it. "It's just being old that I speak out off... You know..."

"I don't know." I retorted coldly.

"Listen kid. It's not my place to tell you." He looked at me with pleading eyes.

I took deep breath and tried to calm my nerves. I sat down and gathered my thoughts. Trying to make sense out of this scrambled mess.

"Alright, it seems you won't tell me anything other than its not your place to tell me." I state. "I'll leave it just that for now."

"Thanks Alpha."

"Just for now." I emphasize once again and he looked down. I cleared my throat as he looked up at me again. "I'll tackle things one at a time. And finding your son takes priority."

"I'm sorry, Alpha." He apologized all of a sudden. "And thank you."

"Don't thank me yet. We haven't found your son." I retorted coldly. "And I don't need your thanks. I'm doing this as my father would help a fellow member of the pack."

"I'm... I'm no longer a member of the pack. I've been away for long..."

"If you should know. Our pack doesn't let petty things like that decide our bond." I explained. "We are tied by our faith in each other. So, we will help when one of us needs it."

"Th-thank you, Alpha." Quezon suddenly covered his face with his hands and started to cry his heart out. I must do what is necessary as an Alpha and set aside my own needs for later. After all this I could start asking the needed questions and finding the correct answers.

"Alright. To begin, do you have a photo of your son. It's easier if we have any visual recognition on who we're looking for." I explained as he started to wipe the tears off his eyes. Reaching for his pocket, the hunter pulled off his phone and started to look for the photo. He had a glint of happiness and hope shining in his eyes.

"Here are some refreshments boys." I heard my mother speak as Zephyr lays down a tray of drinks with steak bits and biscuits. "Quezon I hope your in good terms with Aries." She smiled nervously at him as he returned a curt nod.

I try not to read anything from that for now. Zephyr sits down beside me as my mother sat at Quezon's sofa across me. She looked down at her hands as Quezon adjusted his collar.

"Are you feeling well, Luna?" Zephyr asked. "Should I call Sera to assist you?"

Mother smiled at him and shook her head. "There's no need for that Zephyr. Thank you but I'm fine. It's just I'm happy to see a familiar face for a long time."

"I'm glad we met as well Gale." The hunter returned with a smile. "Here Alpha. This is my son's picture before he left for - uhm... Let's say an important call for his future." He said as he handed his phone to me.

I looked at it and the picture gave me a surprise but my face didn't reacted, not giving away my shock at the image within the phone. Zephyr looked at me concerned after not speaking for a few seconds.

"And his name?" I asked plainly as I handed the phone to Zephyr who instantly knew once the face registered on his mind.

"Rex." Quezon replied looking concerned. "Is there a problem Alpha?"

"Nothing for now." I replied. "Why was he missing in the first place?"

The hunter gulped as he seem to struggle to find the right words. Zephyr placed the phone face down on the table before looking at the hunter's answer.

"He was kidnapped."

"By who?" I immediately inserted. He looked down before I followed with my next question. "And most importantly, why?"

Quezon balled his hands into fists as he scowled. Mother looked concerned as she touched the hunter's shoulder with her right hand. Quezon seem to break off from his internal struggle as she look at my mother.

"You can trust Aries, Quezon." My mother said as she looked at me. "He is Stephen's son after all." She smiled but her eyes showed sadness at that last sentence.

Quezon looked down at the phone on the table before looking at me with a serious face. He sighed and sat straight.

"A group of individuals who worked with Cth'un." My eyes widen but didn't respond as he continued. "He was, let us say next in line for a very important destiny." He chuckle coldly as if he didn't want it to happen in the first place. "He was just a kid. He wasn't ready to hold the weight of our world in his hands. If it were for me, I wouldn't allow him to go to that place in the first place."

Quezon's hands are clasped together as he seem to try to crush his own hands as he explained his son's life. I knew what he was talking about even he tried to hide the most important details. That explains why I feel a sense of superiority emanating from him. But it doesn't explain all of it and I must know from him how he became his son.

"Helpful that information might be but I feel your holding something else important from me." I narrowed my eyes at him as he swallowed something in his throat. "For this pack, honesty is one of the key part of our trust. You must know that."

"Heh. Not even for your father's old friend." He smirked but I remained emotionless as I look at him. He shook his head chuckling. "You sure are his son. I guess I should tell you this. Rex is... He is human."

"Human?" My mother gasped in surprise but Zephyr and I expected that already. "How is that possible, Quezon?"

"Gale it is not impossible." She looked at my mother and back at me. "And I guess you know why. Heh, you really want me to say it myself. You're as sick as your old man."

"I can deduce some scenarios but it's much better if you spill the beans yourself." I said. "I don't want to drag this matter that needs urgent attention to any longer than it needed to."

"I understand." He groaned. "Rex is not our real son. He... We are his guardians."

"Guardians?" Zephyr asked.

"He came from a human bloodline known only as a myth." Quezon explained. "He's the very last of his kind. The last pure blood of..."

"Eden." I mused as he nodded.

"But isn't that just a heresy." Zephyr interrupted as he looked confused. "The lost link to all royal bloodlines."

"Not so lost at all it seems." I spoke as Quezon looked down at his clasped hands.

"Rex' bloodline was kept hidden from the world. Heck, even Stephen knew it wasn't time for the world to know they're still alive." The hunter said. "When he came to us, he was handed down to us from the last guardians. Valentina was ecstatic even."

"She sure has a soft heart for babies." Mother mused as Quezon chuckled remembering something from the past.

"She sure has. It was even stronger when we lost our own." He scowled. "But Rex was something we couldn't have. A child. Even it means we should be constantly be on the run."

"I guess that Cth'un managed to track you down." I spoke.

"Yes. And that is when we decided to put him in the care of the Royal Academy." He groaned as he clenched his teeth. "Well, until we sorted out this mess. But I guess the roots of Cth'un managed to creep it's way even to the Academy."

"And who knows your son's condition at the Academy?" I asked.

"Only a few of our trusted friends." Quezon replied. "One of them died protecting Rex." He growled. "I'm going to make them pay once I find them."

"Well, that will have to wait." I state as I leaned back. "For the mean time, I suggest calling your wife."

"Valentina's over Europe. She's also seeking help from her family." Quezon injected.

"There's no need for that."

"What do you mean?" Quezon stood up frustrated. "Aren't you going to help me find my son?!"

"Quezon please calm down." My mother grabbed his hand.

"Calm down! Calm down!" Quezon yelled. "My son's in danger out there and you're telling me to calm down."

"I did say I'm not going to help you. I keep my word for your information." I growled at him as he jerked backwards. "You don't need to yell at my mother about it."

"Aries." My mother looked at me.

"Argh. Fine!" Quezon spat as he sat down, shaking it seems. "What now Alpha?"

"Now we shall go and meet your son."
