Black To Grey (1)

"Elvis... do not see me as a child. I am beyond what your eyes can take. So now, would you let me see the princess?"

"No!" His voice was solid.

"I am not here for petty fights, Elvis." The exact moment Sean said it, he threw a punch at him and Elvis groaned in response.

Elvis had not expected that, maybe he had because he already saw it coming but he refused to fight with someone he could just crush in a matter of seconds. "Halt, Sean. That woman is untouchable, trust me, you won't want to see his lordship's wrath when he hears what you are planning to do."

"I am not a monster like Ezekiel, what worse could I do than you? I am very sure she is paralysed because Ezekiel drained all her blood to the bits."

"That is not true." Elvis retorted.

Sean smiled a bit after letting his gaze descend on the princess for a little while. "Elvis, here used to be my chamber, did you know?"

Elvis did not murmur nor talk, he just stood still, his eyebrows squeezing out of confusion and annoyance. He was still wondering why he would suddenly be here. What had Sean come to do here? He couldn't have taken the risk to come to Venesia, he knew Ezekiel would not accept something of such but still, he came. He was dead to the people why did he have to risk his life to come here?

"You know now right? Right there-" Sean pointed at the most distinct corner beside where the dresser was placed. "Ezekiel used to scrub on the wall and some dazzling black thick smokes erupt from it, and whenever he looked at the back and saw me, somehow I instantly fall and drive into unconsciousness."

Elvis listened, the pain in his chest erasing every second. He felt a bit satisfied, mayhaps it was a sign that Isadora was healing he had no idea but he enjoyed the cool sensation.

"I know you do not quite understand why I am telling you this but we shall get there." Sean looked at the bed and planned to sit there but Elvis's stare was enough to tell him what to do. Instead, he brought out a hidden chair beside the bed and sat down. His head slightly tilted up so that he could look directly into Elvis's eyes.

Those moments, I woke up to see that he was not there, sometimes I would have a feeling I was hallucinating, and I would run into my mother's private chamber to check if he was there, then my father's. Ezekiel's chamber was always the last because I was scared of seeing him there even though he was the one I was looking for. I would go to his room and unfortunately and a little fortunate, I would see Ezekiel sitting on the floor, quiet and alone, as if he had not just come to my room some minutes ago." He paused and smiled. There was something wrong about his smile, it looked more like a smirk but in some way, there could be spots of sadness, "Little did I know that he was... he was possessed by the demons."

"He is not possessed by the demons. Like you know, he is a vampire."

"Shhh, I bet you won't want the princess to know, Elvis."

Hearing what he said, Elvis's neck instinctively turned around. His eyes fell on the princess's neck. It was shocking but surprisingly, the wounds had already dried off. He blinked a bit to be sure, not letting Sean aware of his reactions he turned back to Sean, "so, there is no demon existing."

"We might have demonic vampires right? Vampires who suck blood from humans and somehow develop demonic powers like disappearing like a speckle of dusk-"

"Vampires do not disappear, Sean, Vampires walk very fast and sometimes beyond what humans can see which would make it look like a disappearance."

"No. Ezekiel disappeared in front of me. He was just a little child. He was possessed by demons. Father and mother were not imaginary creatures, they were humans, and ... Ezekiel could have not inherited his vampirism from father or mother, or the both."

Elvis was tired of the conversation. He settled down on the bed, "Do away with the past and focus on the present, Sean. The present is that Master isn't the person you know anymore. He is changed and a human's life is nothing as compared to plant seed. Meaning, he does not care about whatever you say and he would not hesitate to rip you off in a second."

"I'm a bit prepared for Ezekiel and his minions." Sean stood up to smirk, "Ezekiel would rather watch his mistress die than watch his town crumble, so believe me when I say, the town is about to crumble."

Hearing that, Elvis's eyes furrowed in confusion and frustration, "What do you mean?"

"Look at the window. Do you remember Zuddatta? I met him sooner than expected and at the look of it, he seemed to appear to have business with Ezekiel and his minions. Unfortunately, three-quarters of his minions are humans and they are right now, torn into pieces." He made sure the last word was like a rollercoaster. The way those words came out of his mouth was fascinating, intimidating, and at the same time terrifying.

Elvis walked to the window. The fact that his chamber was on the top floor of the castle, it was easy to spot every single corner, especially now that the cloud was much clearer. Zuddatta? He had never heard of such a name. Who was Zuddatta?

Seeing that Elvis was carried away, Sean crept to where Isadora was and smartly cut one of the locks of her hair, and immediately, her once black hair turned grey. Looking at it, he laughed silently and inserted her lock somewhere in his shirt.

"Elvis..." He called on Elvis as he walked towards him, he placed his palm on Elvis's shoulder, and Elvis's eyes turned back to his, "Seemed like there is more to do than fighting me. Tell Ezekiel that I visited and I am returning because this isn't the time for revenge."
