Chapter-26: Returning Victoriously, and the Preparation of a Celebration

Ren's POV | Gastrea Battlefield |
"Damn! They got to it first!"
"Che! These low-rankers probably got lucky" A Promoter together with his teammate sneered at us collecting the remains of Aldebaran.
"Shut up! we managed to kill this thing by ourselves!" Sajuna finally reacted to their snide comments.
"You? a runt? and some green horns? there is no possible way"
I saw her getting heated to he patted her shoulder, "Don't respond to these guys, you'll just waste your breath."
"You're right" Sajuna nodded and turned back.
I focused on cutting the long neck of Aldebaran to pieces to fit it in something like a carriage to carry the remains back home.
"My baby broke, I know I can't repair it" My sword literally shattered to pieces and I know that a damage like that couldn't be repaired and will need to be melted and reforged.
The sadness I felt after seeing it crumble like that breaks my heart! I used it so much!
"I can feel you" Kanesada nodded in sadness, he understood because he was a sword itself and losing a sword means losing a comrade to him.
Haaah... what weapon will I use now?

3rd POV | Convoy Campsite |
The group came back with a carriage and a huge covered body in it. As they came back to the camp, every single Promoter and Initiator duos that they came across, had a look of awe in their faces.
The group had been renowned before because they cleared a whole Gastrea field, and their IP Ranks moved up to the top 1000 in just a few months. Everybody knew that this group could rise and reach the top Agencies in no time, now, their achievements of the past and the one they have accomplished, they will surely rise to the top 10 of the IP Leaderboard.
They arrived in front of Commander Gado's tent that was in the middle of the camp. the area around them became noisy and people started gathering around them.
"What is with the ruckus happening?" Gado said as he lifted the cloth at the entrance of his tent, when he saw what was outside, he almost had a heart attack.
"I-is that!-" With a disbelieving look on his face as he pointed at the huge covered body on the carriage.
Ren and Kanesada grabbed the edge of the cloth and pulled it off. Everybody gasped as they saw the severed head of Aldebaran lying with it's eyes open and it's jaw open with countless sword-like teeth that was the size of a normal human head.
"It's Aldebaran, we killed him" Commander Gado came close enough and touched it as Ren introduced it.
"Hahahaha! HAhahahahahaha! Our mission is complete!" Gado started laughing like a madman in hysteria and happiness.
"Immediately! Send the signal!" Gado shouted to the support staff that was behind him.
"Y-yes!" The guy quickly ran to his tent and sat in his Communications Center.
Bzzzzt-! Bzzzzt-!
He excitedly went into a frequency as he picked up the microphone, "The mission is complete! I repeat the mission is complete! Aldebaran is dead!"
Bzzzzzt-! Bzzzzt-!
"This is Command HQ, repeat what you said!" A reply came in as he heard it in his headphones.
"Aldebaran is killed! The mission is completed!" He repeated excitedly.
"Do you have any confirmation?" The operator asked hastily.
"Yes! I saw it with my own eyes!"
"Roger that! HQ has received the confirmation! May God bless you all!"
Bzzzt-!
The radio cackled out as the communication operator sighed in relief as the adrenaline wore out.

Meanwhile, in the Seitenshi's office...
Knock-! Knock-! Knock-!
"Come in" The Seitenshi said as she was handling paperwork.
"Excuse me, Seitenshi-sama" A male voice excused himself as the door opened.
A soldier entered uniformly, once he stood in front of the Seitenshi, he saluted and fixed his posture. Seitenshi nodded as he put the salute down.
"What is it?" The Seitenshi said directly to the point.
"Yes! The mission to kill Aldebaran was successful and we received a confirmation"
Seitenshi was surprised and stood up from her desk. "It was successful?!" She didn't expect it to be successful, after all, world armies back then couldn't defeat it.
"Yes! They would be coming back victoriously in a few minutes!" The soldier told her respectfully while being excited himself.
"We're also preparing their welcome! Kikunojou-sama told us to give you the news and get you Seitenshi-sama"
"Take me there, immediately!" She ordered the soldier as she followed behind him.
They went out of the Seitenshi's manor on a car with a convoy of guards following and protecting her.
Once they arrived, she saw what they were preparing, on an open space parallel to the road that the Promoter convoy will be arriving in, there is a huge podium with a roof, like the ones on military parades.
"Seitenshi-sama, you finally arrived" Kikunojou held her hand and pulled her out of the car gently.
"I went here in haste, I didn't expect that the brave expeditionaries will complete it" The Seitenshi praised them while keeping her calm and cool facade.
"Yes, it impressed me too, we along with other world armies back then couldn't take Aldebaran down with various missiles and a nuclear bombs." Kikunojou said as he put his hands behind his back.
"Sir! The Gastrea that was left had been broken up and cleaned up" A soldier came up to Kikunojou, saluted him and told him about the good news.
When Aldebaran died, the strategic attacks became mindless swarm attacks and also became predictable.
"That is great, recall all the troops inside the Monolith and count the total of our losses" Kikunojou majestically commanded the soldier.
"Yes sir!" The soldier saluted again and quickly left.

"Thank you for killing it" Commander Gado shook hands with Ren and the others with endless gratitude.
"It's okay" Ren, as the spokesperson of the Cassell Agency and the Group leader of the Chat group, responded in kind.
"You will all be rewarded generously and your ranks will be increased and when we come back I'll invite you all to a drink" Gado smiled sincerely.
Once the meeting ended, they took the carriage back to their tent and rested after eating dinner. Tomorrow, a celebration will be held and their names will resound throughout the world.
