BEGINNING - 2

The gaze from John made her eyes glaze over. "Tell me, why did this happen to me? Did I do something wrong to have to go through all of this?!" asked Jane starting to cry.

John held his own head with a tired expression on his face as he said in his heart while taking a deep breath. Fuck! Shes crying now.

John who couldn't stand to see her cry, felt guilty for yelling at her. "No, you didn't do anything wrong, I apologize for yelling at you," John said as he hugged Jane.

Jane wept in his arms but with the hunters chasing them, he didn't have much time for that kind of drama.

John let go of his arm. "Now we have to help each other," John told her.

John took a map out of his pocket and put it on the floor, he crouched down and tried to calculate the distance to his next destination.

The map had a lot of scribbles on it, cause before doing his mission, he had already prepared an escape route since anything could happen.

Finished with that, John stood up and put the map back in his pocket.

He saw that Jane was no longer crying. "We will move secretly so as not to be caught by CCTV, because they are always watching," John told her. "Start walking."

They walked back down the alley, but after only a few meters, Jane asked again.

"Why don't we take the car?" asked Jane.

"Ha ha! Great ideas!" said John with a mocking laugh. "You want to die as it was an ordinary accident on the news? if you want, let's do it then, cause I don't have any complaint since I can survive."

As they were walking, John had a hunch that something was far ahead.

He saw the hunters were already there and tried to chase them both.

"Run! Get into the building! Fast!" John ordered who didn't expect the hunters to find him so quickly.

The two of them ran while trying to open every building door they came across one by one.

"All locked! Why don't you shoot the lock?" asked Jane frantically, clutching the doorknob.

"This is not a movie!" said John who was behind her.

Deziing, deziing, deziing. The sound of bullets flying towards the two of them.

The hunters shot them both with silenced firearms, and some of them carried long-barreled weapons.

They both ran to avoid a hail of bullets, John ran ahead of Jane while trying several doors which he finally found an unlocked door.

"Come here, hurry!" John shouted, gripping the doorknob.

Jane ran to him and they both entered the building.

John immediately locked it by sliding the slot and then broke a mop stick and jammed it, while taking a grenade from the belt around his waist and then sticking it to the door using duct tape that he always carried.

The grenade trigger pin was tied to a rope, and a rope was attached to wall using duct tape, so when hunters opened the door, the trigger pin would come off and the grenade would explode.

Meanwhile outside the building, several hunters try to shoot the door but Jack stops them.

"Stop! Don't shoot, it's useless because he's not an idiot," said Jack to his team members.

The hunters looked at him and Jack walked towards the door, he was standing right in front of the door. "I know you're still there Mr. Protector, you recognize my voice right? How it feels to kill someone? Is it pleasant? And thanks for the scar you left on my ear."

John keep silent, his expression turned angry and Jane was behind him listening to it.

"I've been waiting for this day since ten years ago, how long has it been since we known each others, twenty years? You're old now, to get shot so easily like that , like that," continued Jack mocking him.

Crack. John's gritted his teeth.

His anger peaked because of Jack's provocation.

"Split up, and find another way in," Jack ordered his team members.

John pointed his gun at the door and prepared to pull the trigger, but he backed off knowing it wouldn't do any good.

"Is that true? Did you really kill people?" asked Jane, surprised to hear what Jack said.

"Let's move," said John, tugging on Jane's arm.

"Answer me!" Jane snapped as she let go of John's hand.

"I'll let you know when this is over."

"How can I trust you?" asked Jane.

"Believe me..."

John moved a gun that he was holding into Jane's arm, then he took Jane's hand and aimed the gun at his own head.

He looked into Jane's eyes. "Shot me if you want," suggested John.

Jane put her finger on the trigger of the gun and stared doubtfully, she wanted to pull the trigger but she couldn't.

She pointed the gun down and gave it back to John.

John took the gun from Jane's hand and put it back in the holster, he guided her up the stairs to the fifth floor checking every door.

After a few minutes, he found a suitable room to hide in, he carefully checked the contents of the room and found a cupboard.

"Come here, stay here and don't make a sound," John ordered to Jane. "I'll dealt with that bastard," John continued with bulging veins.

"Why?"

"Take and wear this," said John, handing him a gun and putting her a combat helmet.

"Are you going to leave me?" asked Jane.

"..."

John didn't answer her, he gave the radio communication to him after that went away from her.

He walked to the window and pulled out a short sword from its scabbard, prepared with the plan he had in mind.

In such circumstances, using a short sword is the right choice because the corridor is quite narrow and he will not be free to use a long sword.

John moved to the third floor and broke all the doors there.

He set a trap using the same trick, namely hooking a grenade on the door.

Meanwhile the hunters circled the block and found that the building John entered was under renovation.

Jack entered from the front of the building followed by five other hunters' footsteps.

"Stay here, shot him if he's showed up," Jack ordered Ivana.

"Okay."

"Split up and becareful," continued Jack.

Just as they were about to disperse, another hunter arrived there.
