BEGINNING - 7

The sun's rays shone through the wood, shining on John's sleeping face.

"John ... wake up," said a woman in a soft tone to him.

John opened his eyes and immediately hugged him. "I miss you ...," said John as he hugged him.

John's hair was stroked gently by her, the treatment was something he really missed.

"I already made breakfast, let's eat."

The woman walked out of the room to the dining table followed by John, two of them ate the dishes that were on the table.

After eating meal, John walked to back porch and sat on a chair while enjoying the view of the meadow and small flower garden that the woman cared for.

The flowers in that small garden are blooming, making its atmosphere even more beautiful.

The woman approached him with two cups of hot tea in her hand. "Here's," said the woman as she put cup on table.

She sat on John's lap and was immersed in the amazing sight, holding John's face in her tiny hands.

It was such a gentle touch and warm treatment that John had not felt in a long time.

Still holding his face, the woman said, "No matter what, don't lose yourself and fight for what you believe for."

John hugged her and kissed her forehead.

But it was only a past memory that he dreamed of, now he realized and found himself in Jane's lap.

John held his feet. "How long have I been unconscious?" ask him with a hand on his head.

"Two hours."

John put his gear back on and injected morphine again while biting the ration to increase his strength, he walked away so Jane wouldn't see him changing the duct tape with a bandage to cover his wound.

He stuffed the hole from the bullet wound with gauze, and sprinkled ethanol over it.

Fuck! Fuck! Im really getting older. John cursed in his heart.

Meanwhile, the hunters who chase him are getting closer because John's position will be notified to them every thirty minutes through a tracker they carry.

The distance between the two of them is only about one kilometer, if taken on foot, it will took about fifteen minutes.

Michael warns his team members. "Careful, he's just half a mile ahead, and didn't move since two hours ago," while looking at the device in his arm.

They continued to walk forward, paying more attention to their footsteps for fear of stepping on a trap that John had set.

Until finally they arrived at the river bank and found blood marks on leaves near a tree where John had tied the rope. "He's here," told other team leader to Michael. "Take off your gear, and go swim," he ordered his teammates.

Michael did exactly like John did when crossing the river. "Tie this to yourself, so we can pull you if something happens," tell him while tying a rope to a tree trunk. "Keep on alert," he continued.

The man tied the rope to himself and started swimming, he didn't swim in a straight line, but let the current carry him to shore.

Arriving at the other side, he removed the rope from his body and tied it to a tree trunk while tugging at the rope to make sure it was safe to use. "Done!" he shouted from across to them.

They began to cross one by one using the rope as a handle, five of them had arrived in otherside with wet uniform.

Michael crouched down and touched the grass that was facing downwards. "Looks like someone getting dragged from here to there," told him.

"Indeed."

They cleared the undergrowth for further clues to where John was going, and some of them inspect the area.

"Here, over here," shouted one of them.

They approached the man who was shouting earlier, they saw that were marks of duct tape and bandages filled with blood stains lying around on the grass.

"One of them must be in bad shape, it will slow down their movement."

A few meters from that place, found a syringe lying on the ground. "It's morphine," Michael said while sniffing it.

It's been half an hour, but they still haven't updated the information about John's location.

"This fucking thing didn't work properly," say team leader cursed at the locator.

Meanwhile John and Jane were walking among the trees.

"John look," Jane called to him who was in front.

John stopped his footsteps and walked over to her who was crouching down. "What?" he asked.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Jane replied with a look of amazement at a butterfly.

"Oh God!" said John. "You think we're on tour?" he sneered at Jane.

"Why don't we enjoy this view while running from them."

"Get up," said John while pulling Jane's arm.

Jane stood and walked behind him while enjoying the beautiful natural scenery.

"Stop!" John stopped in his tracks.

"Now what?" asked Jane.

John pointed his gun and aimed at the sky firing several bullets.

Brukk. An object fell not far from where they were standing.

They approached the falling object, which turned out to be a remote-controlled drone.

There were three drones flying watching him, but he only managed to drop one while the other two flew away because they didn't want to be shot down either.

John left the drone alone and resumed his journey, they had walked for half a day and the hill he saw from the river bank was still very far away.

The route taken by John is hilly with wide valleys along the way, the chirping of birds mingling to accompany their journey.

Not long after, John gave her time to rest for a while, John leaned against a tree while Jane lay on the ground with John's backpack as a pillow.

"How far the next place is?"

"We'll be there by sunset."

"Hey John, I'm still curious about who you're and how can you be this," said Jane, sharing her curiosity. "Is John even your real name?" she continued as her hand reached into John's backpack.

"Don't touch anything inside that bag!"

"Yes sir."

John took his backpack from under Jane's head.

"How old are you?"

"Old enough to be your dad," John replied to make her stop asking questions.

"Fuck you John, your body says different"

"I'm sixty."

"No, you must be younger."

"I exercise every day and eat proper meals to maintain my bodyshape."

"You liar, you must be in your mid forties."

"Whatever."

Ten minutes passed since they rested, they resumed their journey and saw many wild animals that were encountered along the way such as snakes, spiders, and several other animals.
