Ch 33: Holding Kai Back

Kai felt sick to his stomach for what he had done. He didn't mean to kiss that other woman. He only meant to get Victoria's attention and he thought it worked when he did. But things went too far instead of drawing her in to feel what he's feeling. The only thing he had given Victoria was pain. In turn, he gave them both pain and misery.

"Hey, baby, what are you looking at?" His trash bag blonde returned while he and Victoria never left each other's eyes.

"Leave me be!" He snarled and was icy cold. "I wanna be alone."

She tried to touch him but Kai pushed her hand away. The blonde got huffy with him and left. And his eyes went back to Victoria still staring at him. But then he felt anger to see the Mill family go to her. Even from above, he could see Crystal was wasted and Zach was trying to keep her under control. Kai watched as Victoria was talking to them. Then he watched Zach flip Crystal over his shoulder and left. But Kai didn't care about that. He only wanted to see Victoria.

Then his hands clenched around the guardrail to see Orlando go in to kiss his Victoria. To his relief he watched Victoria turn her face in the nick of time. Kai had to sit back all night to see them kissing and dancing. Now he felt somewhat better that she denied him this time.

"I hope you're happy," Ivan came angrily next to his left.

"I'm not happy," Kai got snippy at him.

"Next time, be patient," Ivan said. "She doesn't know."

Kai didn't care to hear what Ivan said. When Ivan said that, Kai saw what was happening. Victoria was going into her time gap trance. Kai lunged to leap over the guardrail. But Ivan quickly hooked onto his biceps and yanked Kai back from leaping. Seeing what was happening, Ace ran over and grasped Kai's right arm.

"Kai, don't interfere!" Ace reminded him. "There are too many and Victoria could get hurt!"

Kai snorted, relaxing as he glanced below and knew what Ace meant. But Kai was getting angrier to watch. Neither Orlando nor his family wasn't pulling her out of it. Even from where he stood, he saw her body was slightly shaking. Following that her nose started to bleed. Still, the Mill family allowed her to stay trapped in the time-gap. Her body was shaking worse like she was about to have a seizure.

"They need to wake her mind up!" Kai growled but Ace and Ivan still held him down from leaping over the guardrail.

"Stop, Kai!" Ivan spoke boldly. "There isn't anything we can do without harming her!"

Kai's anger was spiking past the max to helplessly watch Victoria, pushing past her limit.

"I swear if she dies you and Ace are dead to me!" Kai threatened a serious warning.

Ivan and Ace had to swallow hard on this one. They heard his threat but they remembered Mr. Collin's order to do what it takes to ensure Victoria doesn't get harmed. Unfortunately, this even meant they were to keep her safe from Kai. Ivan and Ace passed these orders to their other friends, which were also Kai's men.

Realizing what was going on, his other men stepped up ready to help Ace and Ivan with him.

"The Mill family will test the waters but they won't let her die!" Ace told Kai, still trying to keep him back.

Behind his shades his eyes gaped largely to see a certain man, he noticed was lurking within the shadows.

This particular man's eyes were fixated on Victoria. Kai was uneasy about this and tried to move, but Ivan and Ace hung onto him. His heart was racing at full throttle and he couldn't control it. Victoria needed out of the time-gap now! Without her acknowledgment, she became a target. Kai saw that man lurking closer toward her for a better look.

"Somebody needs to stop him!" Kai barked his orders.

Ace gave the nod for a few guys to head down to stop the man that was prowling in a little too close. Above, he saw his men standing in the way of that prowler within a safe distance. All at the same time, Kai noticed Alejandro finally catch the threat preying on her.

Victoria was woken but she looked disoriented. Kai saw that she found his eyes still looking at her. For a brief moment, their sight connected. His rage began to mellow to see her gazing at him. Till his heart withered away.

Kai helplessly watched as Orlando took care of Victoria and that jealousy raged in his heart once again. His heart cried to see that the Mill family took his Victoria away. They left the club with her as he watched in self-pity.

"Your father is right Kai. Orlando isn't yet a threat to Victoria." Ace said standing by his right.

Although Kai couldn't deny this to be the truth. Right now Kai saw the real threat that was lurking below. The prowler and Kai made eye contact with each other. Kai knew this wasn't good. He saw the way that man just licked his chops and Kai knew what it meant.

"Now I not only need to worry about Orlando but this new threat too." Kai snorted, "this is why I wanted Victoria at my father's mansion!"

Ace touched his shoulder and said. "I know Kai but you need to let her go. This way she comes around."

"Victoria, is smart, Kai." Ivan Added. "She'll figure it out."

"I don't doubt her as incapable of figuring things out," Kai spoke roughly. "I fear for her safety."

Kai swallowed rawly to see that prowler all but vanished from his sight. Although he half expected that this stalker would do just that. Now Kai's mind veered off to the conversation that he had with his father earlier in his office.
