Dungeon of the Vengeful (1)

About 20 feet from where Enzo was standing, a brownish green hand with the skin peeling off it popped up out of the ground.

The hand then slammed back onto the surface of the ground and started to pull itself up.

Other hands also started popping up out of the ground around the first one as well.

Woosh!

There was no way Enzo was going to just wait for these demons to pop out of the ground and attack them. He started letting off arrows right after the heads of the zombies popped up out of the ground.

After focusing on a few he found out that the reason the arrows were doing so much damage is because their weakness is the whole of their head where the brain is located.

Woosh!

Woosh!

Woosh!

In just 10 seconds Enzo let off three more arrows into the heads of newly surfaced zombies.

However, they were starting to appear much faster, so he knew he wouldn't be able to keep this up for long.

He was able to kill 5 more before the first few were able to fully surface and start moving towards him.

The zombies had brownish green skin that was peeling in many different places. Most of them wore tattered and dirty clothes, but some of the clothes were limited to just loincloths. Their skin was loose, dirty, and stuck very close to their bones. The whole rib cage was visible in the zombie with no shirt on. They also had sunken eyes that looked like they were extremely tired from staying open way too long. Overall, the zombies looked like the stereotypical zombies from the popular television show The Running Undead, but with a different skin color than the gray color popular in the zombies from the show.

Enzo quickly shot the two fully surfaced zombies right through their heads with an arrow, but another 3 appeared right behind them and were walking slowly towards Enzo.

"Sigh."

Enzo strapped his bow onto his back once again and unsheathed his katana.

He didn't charge towards them like most players would, instead he waited for the zombies to come to him.

Enzo realized if he were to charge into the area where the zombies were appearing from the ground he would be effectively screwing himself over. He would be able to kill the zombies faster, but he would eventually get surrounded if they continued to appear faster and faster.

It took around 30 seconds for the first group of three to make it to Enzo as the zombies were quite slow.

Enzo slashed his sword through the skulls of the three zombies all at once. The katana was just as sharp as usual, so it cut through their heads like butter.

They instantly dropped to the ground after having their brains cut through.

"How am I killing creatures that are supposed to be undead?" Enzo mumbled to himself.

He didn't have much time to think about it because more zombies soon replaced the ones he killed.

Enzo sliced their heads off just as he had done before.

The zombies were dramatically slow creatures, so it was very easy to kill them without getting hurt.

The only problem was their ever increasing numbers, but Enzo was able to combat that by just killing them faster than he was before.

After a 5 or so minutes, the zombies finally stopped popping out from the ground.

Enzo ended up gaining a lot of experience points from them and it was relatively easy to kill them, so he was very happy with the first part of this dungeon so far.

He then bent down and looted the zombie closest to him.

[+1 Silver]

"Eh, could have been worse to be honest." He mumbled.

He actually didn't expect to get a whole silver just from the zombies as they honestly felt a little too easy to kill. Enzo had gotten less than a silver from much harder enemies in the past.

He then looted the rest of the zombies and receiving 1 silver from each of them gave him a total of 30 silvers.

$30 USD for a less than 10 minute fight wasn't a bad rate at all.

'This game really is going to make a lot of people rich.' Enzo thought.

While he wasn't wrong, the problem with his thinking was he wasn't really aware of how skilled most of the players were in the game, or rather how unskilled they were.

Enzo was currently top 60 on the leaderboards now after that fight gave him so much exp. That top 60 may have been the results of his experience gains, but his exp was indirectly related to his skills in game.

If he was worse at killing monsters, he wouldn't have gotten all of that exp, so total exp gained was a great way to determine the skill level of players.

Also, him being in the top 60 in a game with now tens of millions of players meant he was basically a 1 in 10 million talent.

Not every player would be able to make this much money in such a short amount of time, in fact most of the players were upset with the conversion rate of the new Coins cryptocurrency.

For example, the player ranked number 1,000 on the leaderboard had only gained a little over 20 gold coins since the game came out.

Compared to Enzo's almost 300 gold coins gained in total so far, that was nothing! That's $2,000 compared to $30,000 USD in the real world.

Enzo let his katana suck as much blood from the bodies as it could before they disappeared into white particles and then moved on to the next part of the dungeon.

Farther down the large hallway was a bottleneck that led into another long hallway.
