Engagement 3

"The only person who knows is Rosetta Holman" Derrick said calmly, he explained to them that, "There was no other way out, the situation called for it, we couldn't have made it out if I didn't use them"

The room was quiet for some seconds before Baron Dark stood up and said "Don't worry son, is not like you did anything wrong, is just that from now on you have to hide your other attributes until you are strong enough to protect yourself, if the young lass Rosetta knows we should all be prepared that her parents knows as well."

After saying that, Baron Dark thought of the conversation he had with the Earl earlier before he left the room, with his wife Baroness Miranda, Derrick was left alone, but after some few minutes not that much time has passed Miranda came back to Derrick's room, she looked at Derrick smiling and sat down before saying

"Okay son before the discussion turned serious earlier, I was asking you some questions earlier" the Baroness, Miranda smiled brightly, "Alright son tell me what you think about little Rosetta?"

Derrick sighed inwardly, 'I knew this question was coming, what do I think of her, well she is a beautiful little girl, but I don't have any romantic feelings for her, how should I say it she seems like the type that would have my head if I did something to annoy her' he thought.

Alright he suggested to just tell a white lie not knowing this little white lie would be what would chain him together with Rosetta

"Mother I think she is beautiful and a lovely girl, but she is a nobility of higher ranking I don't think it would work out, so mum let's just forget all about this am starving, I only ate a bit before I was dragged down to answer all the questions asked."

Miranda then thought about it "Oh right after dinner then, and the Holmans would be joining us for dinner."

Derrick didn't like the sound of that, 'why would they join us for dinner, the mansion has at least three dining rooms'... Derrick looked at his mother and asked "can I skip it?, I can always eat in my room."

Miranda shook her head "No son, is like a family dinner for both families, your Father and the Earl has something to announce, I think you would be surprised and overjoyed by the news" Miranda said so while smiling brightly at Derrick.

Derrick was confused at first, but after seeing the smile on his mother's face, he had a bad feeling 'I have a really bad feeling about this'.

After saying that Miranda left Derrick to prepare for the dinner they would be having later.

Derrick was left alone and felt something was really out of place, 'what was going on, is something going to happen during this dinner, I better dress nice enough not to embarrass the Dark's family.'

After some time, Derrick personal maid came and inform him that dinner was ready and he was being summoned.

Derrick confirmed from the maid if he looked nice, for some one to dress up to have a meal at home seems strange but it wasn't exactly strange, if it was not excessively, especially when there are guests.

Derrick donned on a white top and black briefs pants, he looked really adorable, his personal maid gave him her honest opinion that he looked really dashing, she is the one who is supposed to dress him but, he stopped her from doing so when he turn five.

Derrick was confident in his looks, raised his shoulder and walked boldly to the dining room, the Baron and Baroness were already there with the Earl and Countess, the only one missing after Derrick came was Rosetta.

Derrick gave a light bow to both parents before sitting close to his mother, who was smiling proudly at him.

"Wow what a cute young boy you are" The Countess said with a loving smile towards Derrick, "Thank you ma'am, you look lovely as well" Derrick replied with a polite smile, "oh what a sweet boy, you would be capturing young damsels heart with that attitude" the Countess said while laughing a bit, covering her mouth with an hand fan, God knows were she took that from, Derrick thought while smiling, "That's my sweet little boy" the Baroness said while nuzzling Derrick gently.

The other star of the show Rosetta walked in elegantly, her eyes looking calm and serene, she wore a light yellow dress which goes well with her golden eyes and hair, Derrick stared at her stupidly, she looked really beautiful, the Baroness had to pinch Derrick on his thigh so he wouldn't lose his composure.

Rosetta saw how Derrick looked and smirked at him, before she made a light bow to both of their parents and went to sit close to the Countess.

'He looks handsome and cute' Rosetta said to her self after taking a few glances at Derrick, but there was no changes at the surface.

"Wow you look beautiful like a little doll dear" the Baroness said to Rosetta, which she smiled sweetly and replied "Thank you ma'am, you look really beautiful too ma'am."

"Ara Ara, what a lovely young girl..."

The Earl and Baron cleared their throat witnessing the repeatation of what happened earlier, both thinking that this women were secretly competing with each other, the Baron sighed, before clicking his glass with a spoon getting everyone's attention.

"Before the meal, I have an announcement to make" He glanced briefly at both Derrick and Rosetta before continuing "both our children would be getting engaged and their engagement ceremony would be held in the distance future, when they are of age" it was followed by an applaud by the parents, "Derrick and Rosetta both of you are engaged as of today, now let's begin our meal."

Derrick almost fainted hearing that 'am dead'...
