Arrival

Lights turn on and Mr. Johnson tries to get me out of bed. "Rise and shine Liam it's time to get breakfast and head out" I roll over and pull the cover over my head not wanting to get up. He yanks the cover off and gets me out of bed. I walk to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face.

"What do you want to eat Liam?" I shrugged my shoulders whatever is fine. He gets me a box of cereal with 2% milk and a bagel after I finish my meal I pack and get ready to leave.

We get back in the car ready to head out. Looking out the window watching as the orange red and yellow all merge as the sun rises. "You know Liam we are still looking for your parents maybe we can find them soon." I roll my eyes as if the people who left me next to a dumpster still want me.

I close my eyes and start to drift off it felt like seconds before my caseworker woke me and said we were about to arrive. As I look out the window on a Monday afternoon in the middle of March we turn down a road and pull up to a gate that swings open.

A sign above the gate says 'Welcome to the finch's'. As the gate swings open and we drive in with wire fencing on each side of the road I start to see a large field full of cows, horses, chickens, pigs and many other things on each side of the road. We head over a hill with a pond on top on the other side of the pond is a two story house with a porch that wraps around the house. We proceed into the driveway next to the house and park.

"We arrived" As Mr. Johnson gets out the car I look to the porch to find a woman standing at the front door. "Hey Mrs. Finch, how are you?" She looks to me then back to Mr. Johnson "I'm fine just been busy with work" I don't want to get out I just want to stay in the car they can talk I won't speak anyways.
