Chapter 47: Hope of Generations

NORI’S POV

A rogue, that’s how the story goes. Apparently, a business minded rogue that claimed to be an alchemist of old approached the Cauldron, something no loner hoping to be long-lived was known to do. He offered the Cauldron a way to save their pool of victims. The Bilbao Cauldron, beginning to feel the strain of hunger, heard him out. He swore he had developed an inoculation that would reinforce humanity’s defenses, make them less likely to die by being pinned or vaporized by the advanced alien weaponry. He asked for an inordinate sum of money and, more importantly, a grant of immunity in the Cauldron’s territory as well as a signed document that bestowed upon him a commendation to any other Cauldrons he may come into contact with. Such a thing is unheard of. He wouldn’t have been a rogue any longer. He would have been a free roaming aristocrat with no consequences if his actions were untoward. Too dangerous.
