The lead.

Abi listened to detective Jane. She was a nice cop from the way she talked, her words made her strong.

"You have to trust me." Detective Jane hugged her as the forensic did his job. Everything at the moment seemed to have calmed down, after the death of her loved ones. The mob had now relaxed as police enforcement was implied, Abi still didn't understand why everything had turned chaotic.

'Wait! Did Bryan say Erick drove Inspector Joe Ken earlier before everything went mad? What was a cop doing with a thug?' She remembered she did hear Bryan announce as Old Miss Gindi had hurried off to leave too.

"Abi,?" Detective Jane noticed the petite was deep in thought, her look was that of stress.

"Please." She held her hand as she led Abi away from the corpses, she had, to let her mind calm.

"You have to stop overthinking. Here, this will help." Detective Jane fished out some Oral for her to chew. She always had a packet of chewing gums, to relieve her stress.

"Chew the gum. It's necessary." She encouraged her as she turned to leave, just to finish analysing the crime scene. Abi was an eye witness, she was the same person who testified to Katumo's acts of profanity, it could be possible she too was a target of assassination.

"Eeeh." Abi nodded her head as she popped the pill like Oral chewing gum in her mouth. It made a sudden freshness trip down her air pipe as she started chewing slowly, watching the forensic now getting the corpses wrapped to be transported to the mortgage for post-mortem.

It was at this moment she almost screamed. The dead-like body of Bryan sudden woke up, knocking down an apprentice who was about to check his body.

"He is alive?" Detective Jane instantly rushed forward to grasp the insane young man. The forensics a few minutes late, came up to confirm. They had got frightened a minute ago, they dared not get too close to Bryan who was now pinned to the ground by Jane.

"Bryan!" She yelled at his face as she delivered some friendly slaps to wake him up.

"Doctor! Doctor! Doctor!" Detective Jane called out as she realized Bryan won't wake up. She knew his condition, She was his hope now.

Though there was no cure for Bryan's illness, he had developed a special ability that made him live a normal life like others, but he still need physiotherapy and so on.

A call was made quick to the squad at the other end who sent a doctor over just as they received the news.

"Bryan!" Abi ran to his side. She couldn't just sit at the back chewing a piece of gum while her love was in trouble. She noticed he had a locket grasped tight in his hand, he won't let go of it even when they tried to get it.

"He is so possessive!" Jane noted as the doctor came along, in a rush.

His quick assessment of Bryan made him frown.

"He is Schizophrenic?" The doctor looked at Detective Jane and then back at Abi. He had guessed Abi was his girlfriend.

"Yeah, he is," Abi replied with confusion. Just what did he mean by remaining silent?

She didn't notice the corpses being moved to a van as the forensic and his apprentice left the scene.

Her mind was just lost, in this devastating era.

"We need to get him somewhere safer." The doctor stood up. He didn't put on an alarming face or tone of urgency as he lit his cigarette.

"Is he going to be ok?" Detective Jane asked.

There were several people around the scene, all police, witnessing this.

"We have to get his guarding first!" This doctor had alien behaviour.

"What kind of doctor are you!" Detective Jane questioned.

"Pardon?" The doctor turned round, not surprised at her.

This drew the attention of others who stole glances at them.

"I said he is ok! Didn't you get me? He just needs to rest!" The doctor puffed heavily, trying to calm down his anger. He was a doctor by profession, if not, how would he have realized Bryan's fate from just a simple assessment?

"Here comes his Grandmother." Police alerted them as Jane was about to raise her voice demanding an answer, to her the doctor was incomplete.

"Oh my God!" Old Miss Gindi almost ran madly to her grandson's side.

"What happened?" She said lifting his head. He was still unconscious, not reacting at all.

"Abi! Are you ok? What happened?" Old Miss Gindi cried now. She knew she had lost her last family, he was the last blood of the Gindi Dynasty.

Why were the Gods so cruel and unjust? Why do they have to end the Gindi so shamefully? Why?

Mrs Yumaa never left her mistress's side, she kneed beside Abi as they all consoled each other.

"Old miss Gindi. Is best we take him to the hospital." Detective Jane proposed an ambulance hoot.

"Doctor! What do you say?" Detective Jane had no clue here, her job specialized in crime, not health.

"Get him to the hospital. Now!" The doctor spat the cigarette butt from his mouth as he rushed to lift Bryan.

"Hold his body up." They easily carried him to the ambulance and spend off.

By now it was not late in the afternoon. There was more to be done here, "Take care." Detective Jane bid them as she got back to work.

"Didn't you collect the statement?" Detective Jane almost yelled at a junior officer who timidly gave her the AOB.

"Fine. Good work!" Her mood was low, and she read through Abi's report of the crime.

'Why do they want to kill Bryan?' She read again through the lines.

Yeah, Bryan is the target! She was sure of it now. Bryan's life was in danger. For three months it had been a hectic time trying to close the Gindi case again, now they had to finish it for good.

"Inspector?" Jane used the police walkie to connect to Joe Ken who answered in the distance.

"What do you mean! Get your mean inside the wards! There must be clues!"

Abi sat opposite the doctor who did not like the importance to Bryan apart from staring at him.

It was all miserable, he looked dead from the outside.

"He is going to be fine." The doctor announced as they neared St. Jude hospital. He noticed that Bryan's family was so caring, they won't leave Bryan, no matter what.

"Doctor? What happened to him?" Mrs Yumaa asked. She did been watching the youthful face for minutes, it looked calm but it was relevant he was in hell.

"The situation back there triggered a chronic illness, I fear he has already undergone the second phase of his disorder, sorry... I mean the second episode of schizophrenia."

"Whoa..." No one could digest this kind of information.

"But there is still hope." The doctor was not guessing, he knew Bryan would be back to normal. Bryan was not like other schizophrenics, he was like a mutated being now.

The ambulance came to a halt and they delivered Bryan to his doctor.

"Thank you." Old Miss Gindi realized the doctor who had accompanied them was leaving for another sect.

"My name is Mike. Don't worry much bout your grandson... He is a strong guy."

"Thanks again, Mike. I really would love to give you something to show my appreciation, if you don't mind... Let me gift you." Old Miss Gindi meant paying this doctor for his service.

"No. No need to do so. It's my duty." Mike declined politely.

"If so, I won't push you to accept a token. Here is my private number, in case you ever want me to pay the favour."

"I will take this. Thanks." Mike accepted the card, adding it together with others in his wallet as he walked away.

"Missus? Hao Ge has some bad news." Mrs Yumaa who had kept her distance, waiting patiently for her mistress to talk with the doctor immediately informed as the doctor left.

"What news?!" Old miss Gindi was interested to know.

"The problem is that he said you have to see it for yourself."

"See what? Why don't you just say what I want to hear!" Old Miss Gindi was stressed. It never had been easy for her all these years. After Bryan's parents got murdered, lots of responsibilities had fallen on her shoulder. It had been too much pressure for her, and eventually, she had to quit working for the FBI.

She remembered the time back then. She was almost there, just one more day and maybe she would have solved the mysterious death of the multi-billionaire couple.

Her own children's death! But her boss ordered her to never investigate further, the case had been closed then. Even after hiring Joe Jen, one of the top ten detectives of that time, she had just caused a man to lose his job.

"Mrs Yumaa... Just tell me what Hao Ge said." She wasn't anxious or curious, no, right now she wanted to end this for once.

"He said he has discovered the pinking behind your children's death." Just this made Old Miss Gindi boil, she had to revenge.

But her boss had once lectured her never to act out of anger.

"Only a calm mind can judge properly, remember anger blocks your inner sight... Su Gindi! Do you understand!" Old Miss Gindi remembered the last words her boss gave her the day she retired.

"Let's check Bryan first." She concluded as they went to join Abi in keeping Bryan company.
