A right thing to do.

"Abi." Mrs Yumaa took a seat next to her. It was a really bad time for her. An hour ago, she had seen her mother pass away, and now she accompanied her lover, who was lost in illusions.

"Baby girl... Is good you take a rest. All will be fine." Old Miss Gindi sat next to her. Her voice made her emotional, she couldn't stop thinking of her lost mother, again Bryan whom she loved wholly, but had at one time betrayed his love. She knew had participated in Bryan's loss.

'If only I had stayed. If only I had been patient.' Abi let the tears fall as she thought of all the good times she had spent with Bryan back then. Now he loved someone else, and even though he did confess his love for her, she knew he did do it just for the sake.

Bryan stared at them, to him, they were not there. He saw his images as he hallucinated.

"Bryan." Old Miss Gindi saw Bryan stare at them.

"He is awake!" Mrs Yumaa came to his side and she lifted him into a sitting position.

"Bryan? How are you feeling?" Old Miss Gindi asked her grandson who didn't reply. He did turn to face her, a sign he did hear her talk, but the worse thing is that his face was blank, his stare too was lost in an ocean of delusions.

"Abi, some water please." Mrs Yumaa requested as Abi handed over a glass half full of water.

"Please talk. We are all here." Old Miss Gindi tried to get him out of his head but failed multiple times.

"Where is his phone?" She had to ask finally as she remembered Mae. This was her last card, if Bryan won't stitch now, it would mean he had gone beyond saving point.

"Twas in his pocket," Abi replied as she thrust her hand into the tight pants pulling out the Samsung phone. The last time Bryan had been admitted to Hospital his phone had been stolen and used to threaten Mae. Old Miss Gindi remembered as the phone was handed over to her.

'Who wants to end The Gindi completely?' Old Miss Gindi wandered. She had never been listed by the executioner, she had just been left alone, to watch from the sides as her family was hunted down, one by one.

"Have some water please." Mrs Yumaa helped Bryan sip the water. He was not corporating at all, letting the water spill over his mouth drenching his shirt.

"Don't feed him any more water. I have an idea." Old Miss Gindi now sat on the opposite bed, next to Bryan. She looked at Abi before unlocking the phone she did receive. 'I know this will break her heart.' Old Miss Gindi knew, the feeling of being inferior to someone.

"Abi, I'm going to try something else on him. Please help me get him to look at the screen."

"Ok."

The call she was going to make was one to Mae, she had to make it a video call, this way maybe Bryan will snap out.

"Look, Bryan!" Mrs Yumaa tried cheering him up as Mae answered the call.

"Helloo... Hey, what's up!" Mae who had answered the phone saw the look on the other end. At first, she did think it was a prank, but after looking into the background and noticing the familiar faces, she knew something was off instantly.

"Bryan! Hello!" She waved her hand over the screen but Bryan was not interested in her.

"Old Missus?" Mae turned her attention to Old Miss Gindi who now showed up clearly on the screen.

"Yes, dear? Bryan became dumb again, he won't respond to anything." Old Miss Gindi gave a short introductory overview of the situation.

"You at the hospital? Hasn't the doctor done anything?" Mae asked.

"Yeah, just some antipsychotic drugs which aren't helping with the situation."

This answer made Mae upset and worried. She had tried reaching out to him earlier but he had not picked up her call, she had thought ill of Bryan then. 'So you were not feeling well?' Mae concluded.

Little did she know that Bryan had been activating the SBS ability last night. Old Miss Gindi and Mrs Yumaa had arranged the night for Abi with Bryan, a suggestion the doctor himself had provided. They had, to get Bryan back from using toys for pleasure.

"Since when did this happen?" Mae asked as Bryan took the phone in his hand to stare at Mae's reflection on the screen.

"Honestly, he started behaving weird the day after you left, but today it went all out." Old Miss Gindi didn't hide that from Mae. She knew Mae well, she was a good understanding girl. The short period they had been together revealed much of her.

"I wish you a quick recovery," Mae spoke softly to Bryan. She had a feeling he was listening to her.

"Please recover. For me..." Mae paced around her room now. Today she had skipped her morning classes. Since the night before she did been having an unexplainable feeling, one of missing someone and one of thinking the person didn't miss her back.

"Is that Abi?" Maeia asked. She could make out that forehead, only Abi had such a forehead!

'What is she doing there? They broke up!' She felt jealous that someone else, someone she replaced was going to take care of her man.

"Yeah, it's her." Old Miss Gindi replied with a smile.

"Do you want to greet her?" She asked.

"Uhm... I will call back after an hour." Mae tried to avoid getting in contact with Abi but Old Miss Gindi had long passed the phone over.

"Hey, Mae!" Abi tried putting on a smile as Mae too tried keeping her voice calm.

"Yes, Abi?"

To Mae, Abi was like an elder sister who had once taken care of her doll before she came of age to play with it.

"How are you doing? US and everyone?" Abi tried bringing in a conversation.

"All is just fine." Mae did not have to go into details. Who was she to her now? "Hope you all be ok too."

Mae wanted to end the talk with Abi. This even Old miss Gindi realised as she could hear their talks.

"Abi, say bye to Bryan." Both Mrs Yunaa and Old Miss Gindi requested.

"Byeee... I'm now leaving." Mae waved this time. It had a positive reaction from Bryan now who helped on onto the phone and for the first time smiled.

"Bryan. I love you." Mae almost cried as she saw Bryan try to talk to her. "I'm coming back soon," Mae promised as Bryan spoke, pushing everyone to surprise. "Honey? Come."

At least he did speak, he had worried them so much.

"Bye... " Old Miss Gindi accompanied Bryan.

'Take care." Mae wished before Abi joined them.

'Just why I'm I hating her so much?' Mae hung up with a thought. She was now alone, back in her room. I will go for a, walk around Memphis, no, I think I should just wait for them to get out of the hospital.

Old Miss Gindi had informed her that they were leaving back to the highlands in less than an hour.

It must be time. Mae sat on her bed as new messages popped un her phone.

'How fast?' She reached out for her phone with expectation.

"Hi, Mae. Get out now!" The message was commanding. Just who had sent the message? She tried to memorise the contact but failed, her head was soo full.

"Who is this?" Mae replied as feedback popped again.

'Check out of your window." The text was plain. 'I hope this is not a set-up.' Mae walked up to her window and searched for the person from across the buildings to the pavement.

'Yeah, it must be him!' she spotted the white in a jacket waiting for her outside the house.

The name was Lampard Brooke, an American from Las Vegas. She had asked him to pick her up this afternoon after classes, after a bet she did win with him, her deskmate.

'I don't want to go anywhere today.' Mae knew that's what she should have said but she instead texted back, telling him to wait for her for not more than ten minutes.

Thomas walked shoulder long with Mary inside Ithanga Health Centre. Though they did been late on arrival, it was still noticeable to the naked eye. The clash that had taken place.

"Hello. This is Mary Ann and I am Thomas Maingi. We are from Madis Global sent to have word with the inspector." Thomas introduced themselves to a policeman who took them to inspector Joe Ken.

"Inspector Joe Ken." Thomas happily called out as they got to him.

"Yes?" Joe Ken turned round, responding to the call.

'Thomas! Why is he here!' Inspector Joe Ken immediately knew his plans were ruined the moment he saw the Madis representatives.
