Searching for the truth.

Bryan could do nothing about the two girls. They sure will be a burden to him, he knew that.

"What if I come back home before midnight?" He suggested. He wanted to leave them behind but they won't just accept.

"No, I'm going with you!" Mae was the first to reject. She knew Bryan won't come back before midnight. She feared for him, for his life.

"We can surely help," Abi added.

"Who will look after the office if you leave with me?" Bryan asked Abi. She was the secretary, she had to report to work.

"I don't want the job. I want you... " Abi almost cried. " You don't want to see me!"

"No no no... It's not like that..."

"Then what do you mean? You've been ignoring me since yesterday! You don't even want me to come with you!" Abi now sobbed.

What kind of situation is this? Two girls crying for me. The best part is that none fought over him. They had long concluded to share him equally but lately, it has been Bryan and Mae all-time long, abandoning Abi as the side-watching peeper.

"I should leave before dark," Bryan said as he tried to get away from the girls.

"Let's leave tomorrow morning," Abi suggested.

'Who said we leaving all together!' Bryan wanted to shout back but Mae added on top of that.

"Babe, it's late, we should wait for Hao Ge." Her voice made him calm, he had gotten over the grieving in him, and now what remained was the yearning for blood, for revenge!

It didn't matter if he went to jail or what. He had to avenge his parents, tit for tat, blood for blood, a finger for a finger! There was no turning back now.

Lately, he did become the CEO of one of the companies his father owned. But that didn't help him in any way. It didn't stop old miss Gindi from being assassinated.

"Where is Hao? Shouldn't he be back?" Bryan remembered.

He had to make a call to him. If there was one person Bryan grew confident in was Hao Ge.

"We shall leave once Hao Ge arrives." Bryan patted Mae softly on her back as he agreed with her.

"Let's wait down in the living room."

They all moved to sit in the living room, with nothing to discuss more than the prime issue.

"Isn't it late?" Abi broke the silence.

They were all cuddled together on the couch. The two beside Bryan leaning on his sides tucking themselves on him.

The weather was getting cloudy as the sun got covered from sight causing orange rays to fill the west.

"Let's give him not more than an hour, he should be here anytime from now." Bryan was sure of his speculations. If Hao Ge said he will be there in an hour then he will be.

"Let me get something for you." Bryan offered the two. It was also getting cold and Mae had nothing more than her blouse.

"Wait for me here." At the moment he didn't refer to any as sweetheart or babe, just to keep the equation.

So he went up for a blanket and passed by the kitchen for two glasses of water which he brought for them.

By now the two girls were all but better, he saw the smile and glitter in their eyes as he placed the water on the table.

"Here, have some water." He offered.

Thomas had warned him about signing documents from the lawyer regarding the property he was to inherit. Now Bryan sat just in the middle of his girls thinking over it.

I don't need my father's effort to succeed in life. I've studied smart and worked hard for my benefit. What's the need for inheriting all that?.. I will be a millionaire by my means.

As if the lawyers had just been waiting for this decision to be made, the guard earlier came back to report.

"Sir. There is a lawyer outside."

"Ok. Let him in." Bryan responded.

The man, the lawyer, was a man not perfectly built. His shoulders missed a mark and his height was a bit off for his clothes.

"Welcome in." Bryan stood up so did the rest to welcome the man.

"Thank you, mister." The lawyer was polite as he took the seat next and took out his case.

"The papers and everything belonging to you are in here." He started after getting to know each other.

"Abi. Please make some coffee for the lawyer." Bryan suggested. It was cold and it looked bad not making anything for a visitor.

"No... I will be fine with just a glass of water please." The lawyer declined.

"As you wish sir." Bryan let Abi fetch the water as Mae remained by his side.

"Are you ready? Mr Gindi?" The way he talked was a bit awkward also. He had this Russian accent that was quite hard to get what he said as he talked.

"Yes, please." That was all Bryan could say as he sat upright, Abi now next to him.

"Fine. This is the paper containing all title deeds and property."

So the list was read one by one. The stack of paper was not more than five but the number of companies listed in there was a shock to the eye.

"All this belonged to my parents?" Bryan asked as he asked for the paper to read through alone.

"Oh. Yes! Your parents were a worldwide recognized couple!" The lawyer praised as he passed the papers across the table.

"You can read your parent's will yourself. Here is the pen you have to sign at the end of the page on every paper." He pointed out. " Right there on that box on the left marked."

So Bryan took the papers firmly and went through reading carefully as his heart pumped.

The companies were listed from number one to number fifty, and then there were the sub-groups and other single businesses and partnerships that brought in huge sums of money.

At this moment, Abi couldn't avoid taking a look too. Mae had already gotten immersed in the lines of businesses.

To her surprise, Mae realised her father was also one of Gindi's subjects! Following the lines, she almost gasped as she realized her father, Katumo, didn't own the chain business in the capital, nor the money-making Casino adored by gamblers.

"What!" Abi who had just read to the line saw all that had been written.

"100 thousand dollars a month for...!" She didn't complete her sentence as she realized it was not necessary.

'We are damn rich!' Abi couldn't stop the joy in her.

"I'm not going to sign any of this." Bryan looked up from the papers. This made everyone surprised.

"Why?" Didn't your grandma tell you she had just been taking care of everything for you till you came of age and maturity to inherit what belongs to you?" The lawyer lowered his aspects as he took a look at Bryan, the next of kin.

"I'm not ready at the moment. You guys can still look after everything, can't you?"Bryan was not joking. This was a serious issue. " I'm ok acting as the CEO of the moonsun." He added as he saw the surprised look on Abi.

"Babe! Sign the papers. You have to have the power to command officials in the government to help you unbury the truth." Abi whispered in his ears.

"I will give you time to think over it before I leave." The lawyer got up to wait outside, in the arbour.

"Call me in once you have concluded."

Abi stared at Bryan, her heartbeat was quite audible. 'I'm going to be the next miss world!' She couldn't stop daydreaming as she nagged Bryan to sign the papers.

"What do you think of this?" Bryan asked Mae who had nothing to say. She had once been offered some papers to sign, at that time she had thought that she was inheriting her father's wealth but today it had dawned.

'I signed and became Bryan's trustee!' Mae now understood. She took her father's responsibility over the companies on her shoulder.

"I didn't expect that..." Mae sputtered, "You are the boss."

Bryan too had almost freaked out at the huge amount of money coming into his account daily, not to mention the firms and groups.

"This... I didn't know grandma hid too much from me." Down on the last page, there was a name he had almost skipped.

'How could it be?' Bryan didn't speak out as he started reading the company name over and over in his mind.

"This can't be true." He breathed out.

"What can't be true?!" Both Mae and Abi asked lost in the feeling.

"Call in the Lawyer for me." Bryan ignored them both.

Something about the companies listed must be fake. This could not be true. Everything will not make sense if it turned out this is legit.

'Could this be the reason Thomas warned me not to sign the papers?' Bryan took Thomas' advice.

"What is wrong with the papers?" The lawyer came back in and asked once he got seated.

"This here... " Bryan stood to hand over the paper by himself, with his finger on the name of the companies.

Outside the mansion, on the highway up the highlands, Hao Ge had just met up with Mr Yumaa who had just arrived from China.

"Haha, Mr Yumaa. You can't be so late. You haven't heard from your wife, is it?" Hao Ge who had now parked his car blocking Mr Yumaa's way mocked him.

"Hao Ge. I say get out of the way or you regret this." Mr Yumaa warned him as he pulled out his gun.

"Haha. Are we not friends working for the same boss?" Hao Ge was not frightened at all. "Bryan is in there. The lawyer has already presented the papers."

"Hao Ge. Just get your car out of my way. Bryan's life may be in danger!" Mr Yumaa not concerned bout the documents warned Hao again.

"I fear he is already in trouble. Haha." Hao Ge laughed before pulling out his gun and opening fire, right there outside the gates.
