Chapter 6: Into the Devil Zone

PART 1

I ran, ran faster than I've ever ran in my entire life to escape. I had to escape, I've been traveling only thirty minutes inside of the Devil Zone but now I was being chased by an entire horde of unknown entities, each one having glowing red eyes as they ran on their fours.

"Is there not any shelter nearby—?"

It was as if fate itself decided to help me, suddenly behind me fell a tree that came crashing down and blocking the pathway from behind me.

I heard the creatures even be crushed underneath the weight of the tree, allowing me to finally catch my breath with both hands upon my knees, panting as if I was a dog.

"Ha....ha....ha.... I've never ran so fast in my life. Just what are these creatures? They're no Skinwalkers by any means."

I gripped the hilt of my blade once unsheathing it from its scabbard, and now continuing down straight ahead as I planned. I wasn't too sure what to expect lurking behind the cold dead trees, or deeper into the thick fog of the forest.

The sounds of my boots crushed sticks underneath me, until I could finally see a dim light within the thick fog around me. Quickly I ran over as if adrenaline pumped through my veins, and now in front of me I could see hell itself. I wish I wasn't exaggerating when I say these words...

"Dear God..." the small change of voice and shudder within it, the entire atmosphere was thick. I felt as if all around me unknown creatures had appeared, I seen an hellish nightmare before my eyes.

All my senses heightened from sheer fear.

A vast open land with a foul stench, corpses were mutilated and hung upon poles, demonic creatures had walked around stomping upon humans as if they were fragile glasses. These demonic creatures were large, standing twenty meters tall and long pointy horns with a devilish grin; walking ahead they chased an entire horde of knights as they ran for their life.

"This is a part of the Devil Zone...?"

My voice whisperer lightly, and yet—

"HUMAN, PRIME MEAT I CAN SMELL IT!"

I looked to the side watching a long hunched over creature, it had a spear in its hand with a drooping head, pinchers like an ant on its mouth, and Red eyes like a fly. It's color gray as it wore nothing more than clothing knitted from a sort of animal.

As it called to its brethren they had spotted me with their large insect eyes, spotting me hundreds of meters away or more. I believed I could take them, but risking my life fighting that behemoth chasing a group of knights would be the death of me, but why not try, I said.

PART 2

『GODSPEED: TEMPEST〛

And thus I awaited for them to attack me, my body lit up in red from my Sin Energy once again, holding my blade within my hand as they all suddenly sprouted wings like a beetle, flying over towards me into the air.

"Get any closer and you'll die..."

I warned them confident as I was, seeing three ahead of the entire horde — but those three in the span of an instant vanished, their bodies incinerated wholly.

"You can't pass through my Tempest, let alone you all aren't fast enough to even target my weakness... maybe I underestimated even myself coming here..."

Using GODSPEED: TEMPEST, one of the first core function of my 'Godspeed', allows for me to react automatically to external stimuli. Instead of the normal process of the stimulus being perceived by the nerves, which transmit a signal to the brain, which in turn sends an instruction to the muscles, I programmed my Sin Aura to send an electric signal to my muscles to instantly react to a threat, bypassing the comparatively slow nervous system. The aura can be preprogrammed to respond to different stimuli: physical contact, sinister intent in the enemy aura, or someone stepping in a predetermined perimeter, and the specific response is preprogrammed as well.

Perhaps one of my strongest technique, it allows for me to react automatically, which I can even use to evade enemy attacks with flawless speed and timing.

The Demonic beasts once they entered my Sin Aura's radius were instantly attacked with no regards of mercy, hitting them with such an explosive amount of energy that they evaporated.

PART 3

"Speed of Light..."

My body flickered once more again, I traveled into the sky, the creatures in front of me looked as if they were suspended in time from how fast I moved, using Speed of Light for unmatchable speeds...

"Hooooooaaaaaaaa!!!"

I yelled from the top of my lungs, holding onto my sword I blasted through them all, vanquishing them with just jabbing my sword in front of me, piercing one by one as if they were Shish-kabobs. I eventually came hurdling towards the 20 meter giant I had seen chasing those nights, however as I inched closer towards its location, it managed to even catch me at my speed—

"N-NUH?"

The sound of me lost, surprised... even questioning if I perhaps slowed down for it to catch up? No...it was none of those things, it was simply just strong.

"GUH—"

My body collided onto its head before I bounced off of it falling down to the ground of multilayer bodies and nothing but blood...

"I'm out of Sin Energy... I thought I could pull through... but... this was unexpected—"

I looked up in fear, my voice shuddered as the massive creature leaned its head back to face the sky...

"Ahahahahahahahahahaha! Haaahahahahaha!"

With this creatures emotions no longer suppressed, he laughed into the wind. In front of me a large portal opened up into the sky, as if a crack in space had opened it up, now realizing what the purpose of it was, a large wave of fire came hurdling towards me burning up even space around it. It's the hottest thing I've ever seen, as if it was the concept of heat itself...

"I'm gonna.... Die....?"

In that moment once the fire crashed into my body, I could see nothing else, I felt my body disappear and turn into dust, my life vanishing outside of the Mortal world... I had died.
