How to kill a witch (2)

Ed hadn't moved from the place where he had fallen. He was holding his chest, feeling the pain of being touched by an Azhdaya.

Since Yavan was in his human form, Ed would likely survive. Not that Vera was worried. The other agent hadn't moved either. Maybe he had hit his head.

As for Yavan, he was staring at Vera as if she was a breathtaking scenery or a piece of artwork. His eyes were shining even with their lightless colour, and his lips were curled in a light, peaceful smile.

It made Vera shiver, but she tried hiding it. Yavan was still too dangerous for her to provoke him. And even without his full powers, she had no hope of winning a fight just yet.

She had come down to meet Ed, hoping the Azhdaya wouldn't interfere. She was also there for Sara, so his involvement had just delayed her plans.

«I want to see it,» he said. «I want to see you kill!»
