Worried?

"You are out of danger now, you skipped drugs right?" Jude scolded.

"Is she still out there?" Lucas overlooked his question and asked while looking at the door. He was sitting upright with his head resting on the wall.

"Yes. She refused to leave." Jude solemnly said with a sigh. "Don't evade my question, you skipped your medications"

"Yes" Lucas flatly replied with an empty look in his eyes. "I don't regret it " He added.

"You are going kill your self even before your sickness does that. What the hell is wrong with you?!" Jude fumed. He was worked up because Lucas acted like he didn't care for life while people around him, including himself, is worried sick about him.

"We rode a horse together." Lucas chuckled.

"What?" Jude wanted to be sure of what he was hearing. In a time of life and death, how could he be thinking of a horse he rode with some woman?

"It's been so long since I've had such a moment with her. It felt so nice that I forgot my medications. I forgot I was sick"

"Well look at the results. Your sickness decided to do something to make you remember it and now you're in the hospital." Jude yelled.

"You won't understand." Lucas sighed before he raised the duvet and laid comfortably.

"She's the reason you refused surgery. Now she's the reason you landed in the hospital again. If this continues, I'm sorry to say, this woman of yours does more harm than good!" Jude pointed before storming out of the room.

"Is he alright doctor?" Dionne asked worriedly when Jude came out with a furious expression.

"He's fine now. You can go see him if you wish." Jude gritted out as he tried to hide his anger but Dionne still sensed something off.

"I'll just go inquire more" Ben said before running after Jude.

*In Jude's office*

"What's wrong man? Why did you talk to her like that?" Ben asked.

"It just annoys me that he does so much for her and she doesn't knows of it. He's going through all this because of her and yet she's cluelessly ignorant"

"It's not her fault. No one has told her anything yet. That's what Lucas wants." Ben sighed as he drew a seat and sat down.

"I honestly don't get what goes inside the head of that friend of yours?!"

"You won't understand. Probably will when you fall in love." Ben straightened his leg and relaxed his neck at the back of the chair, "I'm so exhausted." He breathed out.

"If this is what love is, I never want to experience it." Jude chuckled while shaking his head.

"Me too" Ben drawled.

In Lucas' hospital room.

"Are you sick?" Dionne sat on the chair next to Lucas as she stared at his relaxed expression.

"Just stressed from work"

"Why are you working so hard then, you should take breaks at times."

"Ok"

"Is that all you have to say? Do you know how frightened I was when I saw the blood on your face, do you—" Dionne's breath hitched and she paused when she felt Lucas' hand on hers.

"Were you worried about me?" He asked.

"Who's worried about you? I'm just worried you'll die without me getting my revenge for all you out me through today. But now that you say you just fainted from stress, I have nothing to be bothered about" Dionne hurriedly said as she tried to free her hand from Lucas' but he wasn't letting go.

"Is that so?" Lucas smiled thoughtfully as he used his thumb to draw circles on her palm.

"What else are you expecting?" Dionne caustically remarked while shifting uncomfortably on her chair. Why the hell was he holding her hand?

"Go look for Ben" Lucas ordered as he abruptly let go of Dionne's hand.

"O-ok" Dionne stuttered and quickly stood up to go find Ben. More like escaping from from the tense filled room. When did things go awry? They were just talking.

Dionne didn't go far to find Ben as he was already heading towards Lucas room.

"Is anything the matter?" He asked when he saw Dionne's lost expression.

"I was just coming to find you. Lu– I mean, master is calling for you." Dionne relayed.

"Is anything the matter, is he alright?"

"Ye...ah" Dionne drawled and looked suspiciously at Ben when she saw his worried expression.

"Ok then." Ben nervously scratched the back of his hair before he proceeded to go to Lucas' room.

"Wait" Dionne called and Ben stopped in his tracks.

"Did Lucas really pass out from stress?"

"Yes he did. Nothing is wrong with him don't worry. Come let's go see what he has to say." Ben assured and Dionne brushed off her former suspicion, following him to Lucas room.

"Do you need anything?" Ben asked Lucas once in the room.

"Please get me some change of clothes and ask Sandy to prepare some porridge. Also, take Dionne home." Lucas said before closing his eyes as a sign of dismissal.

"What ab-" Dionne proceeded to say but when she saw Ben raised hand gesturing for her to keep shut.

"I'll be back." Ben said before leaving with reluctant Dionne following closely behind.

"I don't want to leave" Dionne whined on the way to the garage.

"It's what the patient want. Did you say anything to upset him?"

"Not that I can think of. Except he's angry because I said I was not worried about him"

"You said that?" Ben asked as realization hit him.

"Not literally. I just didn't want to give him the satisfaction of thinking he was right" Dionne shrugged.

"Oookayy" Ben drawled as if he understood. Truth is, he can never understand women. Why wouldn't she just straight out admit she was worried?

"Whatever" Dionne rolled her eyes at Ben's behavior.

They got home pretty late. 11pm to be exact. Sandy had already prepared the porridge, Dionne insisted on helping. It was safe to say the porridge was made by the both of them.

"I'll just go give this to Ben to take to Lucas" Dionne told Sandy who handed her the flask of porridge.

"It's already late, why don't he wait till morning." Sandy asked worriedly, looking outside at darkness to which the bright moon was the only source of light.

"We wouldn't be making porridge in the middle of the night if he didn't want it now"

"Oh... you're right"

"I'm always right duh" Dionne rolled her eyes before walking out of the kitchen with the flask in her hand. She went to the entrance of the gate and saw Ben patiently waiting for her as he leaned on the car.

"Thank you, Go get some rest you must be tired." Ben collected the flask from Dionne and headed to the the car.

"Uhm Ben?" Dionne called out.

"Yes?"

"Can I come with you. I mean, I don't think I'll be getting any sleep so why not just tag along at the hospital"

"No." Dionne wasn't expecting that reply.

"But he is my master and I'm his, well, slave. I have to be around him all the time, serving him and the likes."

"He won't like it" Ben pointed.

"I'll take care of it" Dionne chirped before inviting herself inside the car. Ben could only sigh as he got in himself and drove to the hospital.

They got to the hospital and Dionne went ahead to Lucas' room while Ben went to park the car in the garage.

"I brought you–" Dionne paused when she saw the scene before her. She definitely wasn't expecting it.
