Chapter 129 Cosmic Rivers

" Leif, you coming?"

" Yes, just give me a second." Leif yelled, from far away. He was currently fishing celestial fish, in the rivers of the fifth dimension.

While the fourth dimension was empty, the opposite could be said for the fifth dimension. Clusters of galaxies were everywhere, with millions of different creatures floating around. Of course, unlike the third dimension, on of the creatures here, was bigger then a lesser multiverse.

If one was to compare the different dimensions, one could say the fifth dimension was more like chaos, than any other dimension. Life was everywhere and the celestial and titans didn't bother hiding, in their realms. Of course, they still hid in their dimension when they slept. But at they time they were out hunting, or just chilling with their friends. With no fear of the creatures around them.

Holding together the clusters of galaxies was the cosmic rivers. Unlike the third dimension where gravity came into play, where galaxies usually gather and created around blackholes. In he fifth dimension the rivers of time, or also called the cosmic rivers, held everything together.

It just so happened that in these rivers fish like titans and celestials loved to swim. This gave Leif a wonderful opportunity to catch some food. Plus, as long as he doesn't destroy the poor things soul. It won't die. Unlike gods and giants celestials are their soul and not the body. So within a day or two, the fish will be back. That is why the creatures of the fifth dimension does not fear hanging around in a dangerous zone.

" How's the creation of the stronghold going Mirella?" Leif asked, as he leisurely threw a spear in to the river, catching a giant fish.

" Good, so for we've found eight thousand of the millions of celestials that were supposed to come here. But it's only been a day and we're expecting to have five hundred thousand by the end of the week." Mirella answered him. While playing with a stray celestial cat that came up to greet her.

" Aren't these new ascended celestials so cute?" Mirella said, as she hugged the little thing.

" Yes sure, anyways, I'm done here. This will last for a few months. If our absorption rate doesn't increase. But if it does, we'll just return here. Let's get going than. Bring the cat, if you fell like complaining." Leif said, already knowing his wife's antics.

" Yeah yeah, but what do you think of this place? It's so pretty right? I don't understand why Ragnar keeps choosing chaos over this place!" Mirella said, annoyed over Ragnar's denial of moving into the fifth dimension with them.

" Don't be dumb Mirella, you're his apostle! You must understand the beauty of chaos. I mean you've been there and all. Since you're also a being of chaos, like me. Maybe we can be in both."

" Yeah, but how do we get to Ragnar? He must pick us up, if we want to meet him. Otherwise we'll just get caught in a random chaos storm." Mirella said, shivering at the thought of getting caught in such a disaster.

" Yeah, I'd rather avoid a chaos storm, if I could. Ragnar told me that he once rode a chaos storm into the fifth dimension. It killed and absorbed a lot of the surviving celestials, from the out break, in the beginning of it all."

" What, just how strong is a chaos storm then?" Mirella asked Leif, shocked by what she just heard.

" I don't know, Ragnar said they can grow so strong that they can escape chaos and reek havoc on the dimension for hours, before the dimension can extinguish it." Leif said, as he started to walk back to their new stronghold.

" Wow, wouldn't want to experience such disaster, ever."

" Yeah, Alice told me this one time. She said she was caught by a chaos storm and ripped to shreds. She also told me when she was on a weird train that went into the storm, with a bunch of creatures of chaos. They all hunted the monsters in chaos together. But she died, because a strong chaos monster found her and killed her. She seemed pretty sad about that. Apparently she made a good friend, while being there." Leif told Mirella, as she smiled hearing the stories of Alice.

The duo walked back together to the stronghold that was being built. Both of them exchanged stories they'd heard of chaos. Once they arrived Julia greeted them, with a happy smile. Glad to see they returned safely.

" How was the hunt?" Julia asked, garnering the attention of other celestials and even some titans.

" Good, when will Yggdrasil arrive?" Mirella asked, as she noticed the titans didn't have their leader yet.

" The leader of the existence faction will arrive soon. Do not worry mam." A titan said, noticing their turn in the conversation.

" That's good. But how do you think the fourth dimensional being will react, noticing Yggdrasil leaving?"

" Don't worry Mirella, Ragnar made an official announcement of what will be happening soon, so they have no reason to worry!" Julia said as she sat down, on a chair that appeared out of nowhere.

Leif and Mirella sat down on some chairs too and a table appeared in front of them.

" Thanks to you two, we now have a stronghold. Thank you for taking your time searching for this beautiful place!" Julia said, as she pored the duo a cup of tea.

" No problem, it took some years, but it was worth it in the end."

" That it was." Julia said, while looking over the place Leif and Mirella chose. It was far from any celestial pantheon and had great number of resources. The environment was friendly and the river of time flow through almost every corner, blessing the location with prosperity.

The place looked straight of of a fairytale. It was like a wonder land, something you'd see as a kid, where everything was color happy and no one was enemy.

Their neighbors were friendly animals thar didn't seem to mind dying, once in a while.

" How you all doing so far?" A man said. He had a black cape and thin back armor, covering all of his body, accept from his face. One could see his blue eyes and blue beard and blue hair. It was a wonder he didn't have blue skin. That was the joke going between everyone. But the one close to him knew that this wasn't even close to his real appearance. In reality the man was dark and evil in nature. He looked like something out of a horror movie. A man truly fit to rule chaos.

" Ragnar, pleasure you could join us on this fine evening." Julia said, exaggerating his arrival.

" Yeah yeah, I'm busy from time to time. No need to be an ass about it." Ragnar complained, as a chair morphed out of the darkness in the dimension. Making the celestials and titans back of, feeling intimidated when he used his powers. They could fee the difference in power, just by feeling the concentration in the energy he was using.

" You guys grow more and more pathetic by he day. I'm your leader, stop fearing me like I'm some cruel enemy that's going to kill all of you!" Ragnar exclaimed, annoyed by their scared behavior.

" Sorry, their not used to your pressure, give them some slack Ragnar." Julia said, defending the weaklings.

Even though celestials could be said to be far from weak! Their very existence is a crime. They have a fraction of infinite at their disposal. They can even destroy multiverses. A chain of infinity. They are the very definition of broken. Once someone reach celestial that's it. Their is no advancing after that. If one isn't an irregular, then they have a small chance to grow stronger. The reason their seen as weak, is simply because Ragnar is a sun dinosaur, a being that bathes in infinity, even if he doesn't truly do that yet. He has much more to grow before he's reached such power.

" Fine, I just hate having ally's fear me, leave that too the enemy!" Ragnar said, while taking a sip out of the tea.

" So, how construction coming along?"

" You already know that. I know you're watching us, to make sure we're safe." Julia said.

" Shesh, what's up with you? Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?" Ragnar said, while casually sipping on his tea.

" No, but please Ragnar, stop spying at our every move. I wouldn't be shocked if you watch people, while their doing the naughty in bed!" Julia said.

" Now I get it, you're jealous of the couples!" Ragnar said, sipping his tea again, angering Julia in the process.

" You bastard!" Julia said, standing up ready to launch herself at Ragnar.

" I would advise against it honey, Ragnar is currently playing with sun and you can guess who's here!" Ragnar said, standing up. His words confused everyone but Julia.

" Yeah I know, that's why I'm pissed! Why isn't he here himself at this important day?"

" Well to be frank with you. For the moment he couldn't care less. He might come here in person on a later day, when he gets his free trial of the weak. Hahaahaha, I'm so funny. Good one me, thanks me." Ragnar laughed as Julia was fuming.

" Anyways, he'll be here later. I'll tell him you wanted him here and his other third. Bye then, asshole!" Ragnar said, as he teleported away.

~Pov Hephaestus~ (Third person)

The rain hadn't calmed down in the slightest. It had only picked up and the presence of Riley didn't calm it down in the slightest. Stage 6 hurricanes ravaged the world and animals that didn't exist before came to the world, together with other creatures. Even things like monsters came to visit. Thankfully Hephaestus was strong enough to fight off any powerful monster, for the moment. Riley wasn't in a state to fight. As she was exhausted from the ritual. Plus Hephaestus didn't feel like using a child to fight monsters.

The trio moved towards the city's in hopes of finding survivors. He wanted an army after all and if all of humanity died, it would make this journey useless and he had to start over again. So he tried his best to find survivors.

In the first city he entered, he found fifty survivors. It was underwhelming and it lowered the spirit of everyone. But they didn't give up. As they entered the next city, Hephaestus had built a makeshift vehicle that could house thousands of survivors using the cars around them. Now the survivors didn't have to be in the hurricane and because of Hephaestus smithing ability. The vehicle was a demigod artifact. So some hurricanes wouldn't hurt it. This made the survivors have hope again and they quickly looked for more.

After some days, they had searched over twenty cities and had found five thousand survivors. Many of them had also awoken some kind of ability, thanks to the mana.

As for food, they were fed non poisonous creatures, that Hephaestus killed. Riley had recovered from the ritual but she was still depressed. The demigoddess helped them on the road and said she'd ask a god in her pantheon for help. Hephaestus seemed enthusiastic about it, so the time traveler was also happy with it. If the savior was happy, it meant that something good was about to happen.

The survival of humanity on this world was getting likelier by the minute.

Days passed and their numbers were growing steadily the more they got, the faster they could search the cities. So there growth was just increasing. But the amount of survivors in the cities was decreasing as time went on. This decreased the happiness of the humans. But beings pike Hephaestus and the demigoddess didn't care. They were suppressed they found this many in one country.
