Chapter 182 New Perspective

"Good, very good! Now my young boy, we will give you a trial! It will be hard and you won't remember anything about your life, until completion of this trial!" One of the beings said, it smiled at Ragnar, using a human like face to garner comfort.

"Good luck young one, you will need it!" That was the last thing Ragnar heard before falling asleep.

"Hey you, you're finally awake!" A blue gigantic human formed bus told the dizzy Ragnar.

Ragnar to the black stone cold floor when he tried to stand up. The bus like thing watched his attempts with amusement. Ragnar could swear he saw small blue busses circling his head when he sat up again. But his mind slightly caught a minor detail and he gained the courage to ask. "Wait a minute, who are you?"

The bus smiled at the innocent question of its guest and answered truthfully. "I'm Bus-kun best celestial of reincarnation and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!" It proclaimed with pride, while striking a weird pose, its two blue arms high in the air.

Ragnar flinched at the weird antics of the blue thing and asked. "Okey then bus-kun, if that's even your real name. Where am I?" His question made the metallic brows of bus-kun rise and it answered with some irritation evident in its tone.

"Well then Ragnar, if that's even your real name, you're in the fifth dimension about to get reincarnated, so shut up!" The bus told him and snapped its fingers, making a wheel appear in front of them.

It was full of endless races, some weirder then others. Ragnar observed the wheel, intrigued by its presence.

"Okey Ragnar, here's the deal. Spin this wheel three times! With each spin your fate will be decided! The first spin will be your race, the thing you will be reincarnated as. If that is a bird, or a whale, I don't care. The second spin is the most important spin and will decide how strong you will be within your race and dimension. The last spin, the least and almost most important story! You might become a humble little boy, or the son of an all powerful being! I don't care, I'm simply bus-kun!" The bus told Ragnar and he swallowed some saliva that had gathered in his mouth. Then with visible tension he approached the giant wheel in front of him.

He spun the wheel and it landed on "Scalerius", Bus-kun smiled and said. "Not bad, this one is very special and very bad at the same time! This being is capable of many things using its scales, but due to that its a luxury item used for crafting, you know the drill. Next spin boy!"

Ragnar followed the instructions and spun the wheel again. The wheel could land on twelve different numbers. That being one too twelve of course. The wheel had some speed behind it and spun for a good minute before stopping at 3 and twelve. Ragnar stopped and looked to bus-kun for help. The bus sighted and explained.

"When a being doesn't hit twelve in the third dimension on this wheel two numbers will be given! Potential and current power. Three for your power and twelve for potential. Now spin one last time, I don't have all the time in the world young man!" The bus told Ragnar.

Without further ado Ragnar spun the last wheel. It was from one too six and he hoped for six. But that didn't happen it landed on two and that was it.

"All in all decent, here's your story!" Bus said and snapped its finger, then Ragnar disappeared.

[A Scalerius born I a flock of over five hundred Scalerius. Your parents are one of the elders and have major power in the small gathering of intelligent dragon like fishes. You were born four years and three hundred sixty four days ago and today is a special day. This day the power of your scales will be decided. It will be left to fate and not your will, good luck. You'll have to figure everything out yourself from here on out!] a voice sounded in Ragnar's head as he groggily woke up once more.

This time he didn't grow weak when he tried to stand up and actually managed to stand tall. He was inside a cave, with water all around him. He was on a small little sand ground, about fifteen meters big. The cave was enclosed and there seemed to be no exit on surface level. So Ragnar opted to search underwater. He didn't notice his hind legs. They were slightly bent forward, like hind legs usually were. But he had no front legs, instead he had a weird three limbed arm, with scale like fins. It looked like he had three gray arms glowed together using fins as a layer of scales between him. His head was neither fish like, nor human like. It was like a kobolds head, but with more fish themed scales.

Ragnar took a plunge into the water and noticed his scales breathing for him. Actually freaky, the scales directly circulated the oxygen into his blood and therefore he didn't have a heart.

Ragnar saw an opening under water and quickly swam towards it, eager to see his surroundings. When he reached the outside he saw several straw huts, made inside of the water, which was eighty meters deep, at the shallowest part. An island on straws was in front of him and under it was nothing. So it was a floating straw island with severals huts on it. Not to mention the weird being roaming the place. The only slightly normal thing about them were their upper bodies which were human like, if one ignored the scales and everything else. Many of these beings had different colors on their scales, but everyone his age had gray scales. Most likely because they lacked some kind of trait.

"Blub, blub, boubbulbblub!" Something said and Ragnar understood its words perfectly and instinctively recognized its voice. "There you are my precious boy, are you ready to get your adult scales today?" his mother asked and Ragnar turned to her. He was shocked to see a pink scaled Scalerius and that it was his mother. But the shock subdued quickly and all that was left was excitement.

"You bet your sweet scales I am. What do you think I'll be able to do mom, bewitching like you, or maybe creating stone storms like father?" Ragnar said, some fond memories surfacing in his mind.

"Lets go to your father son, he's waiting for you. When the sun goes down, your new scales will glimmer in all its glory. He wants to se that beautiful sight for himself too!" His mother told him and Ragnar nodded. He too wanted to be with his father. He felt that these feeling would soon lessen, as he fused more and more with his body, but till then he wound enjoy it.

Several people in the small tribe gather for the sun down, waiting for its final rays to touch Ragnar's body and tell the world of his scales.

A dark mark appeared on one of Ragnar's scales and it quickly spread. When the sun hit these spots it was absorbed, around him a small dome of darkness had formed and it was only growing with each second, until he was completely black. He was pitch black and so was everything around him. He was like a sponge, eating all the light around him.

"Where's the glimmer?" "Yeah, where is it?" The crowd asked, as they watched Ragnar in his black glory in front of them. He looked like a demon from hell and they feared him for some reason. Even his father took a step back from his own son.

"What, what did your scales become?" His mother managed to ask.

Her son slowly turned to her, his eyes were empty and pitch black like his scales, but they became white and black again, when he saw her.

"Nightwater, my scales became Nightwater!" Ragnar told his mother, there was no happiness, or prior excitement in his voice. He felt empty, yet full at the same time. Like something precious to him was returned but much was still gone. But that feeling quickly disappeared and he returned to normal. His scales that made the world close to him pitch black stopped and he was now like everyone else. A different shade of scales.

"Well nothing wrong with no glimmer boy, hope you'll love your powers!"

As Ragnar was walking back to the cave he came from he stopped all of a sudden. If someone was there they ask what he was doing. In front of Ragnar clear visible words shone.

(Greetings host, I am the Nightwater system and I'm here to help you rain supreme!) it told him. Ragnar took a deep breath and said words he felt all to familiar with.

"Status!"

[Name: Ragnar

Race: Scalerius

Power: E+ without control of current powers, D rank when controlled is gained

Abilities: (Nightwater travel) (Nightwater implode) (Minor Nightwater manipulation) (The gluttony of Nightwater)

Titles: (Reborn) (???Nightwater)]

[Nightwater travel: The endless possibilities of traveling through Nightwater. (Host needs to find out what's possible by itself)

Nightwater implode: as the skill says, a small bubble of Nightwater will explode out and then implode forever consuming the things caught in its range.

The gluttony of Nightwater: The ever consuming Nightwater. This is a passive ability that can be turned off. It will slowly consume everything around the host, (light will instantly be consumed).]

The system showed him when he said statues and everything he saw came as a shock. All these things sounded so cool, like super cool. But he contained his excitement and entered the cave.

"System how strong is E+, it sounds supper weak!"

(Host is not very knowledgeable it seems! G- rank is the normal strength of a human child. A human teenager is G rank, while some adults grow strong enough to be F rank! E rank humans are considered veteran soldiers, knights or adventures. While E+ are seen as the threshold of power. When a being is D rank or stronger they can decimate small cities and more. Do not underestimate your powers host.) the system told him and he was shocked.

"Isn't E rank when a human might be able to break a rock?" Ragnar asked and the system grew frustrated.

(Who told you something so stupid? An E rank could punch the ground and create a crater five meters deep and ten meters wide! E + and D rank could do way more!) the system told him.

"So using other words, I'm awesome!" He said aloud, alerting some nearby Scalerius.

The system sighed at its host and went quiet. Ragnar entered his cave and experimented with his Nightwater for some minutes before falling asleep. All he managed to do was accidentally shrinking his small island inside the cave by two meters.

Ragnar woke up to vibrations inside the cave. He was alerted by this and swam outside quickly. When he reached the outside he saw several boats all around them. The island was on fire and humans with torches were all around them. Ragnar shivered at the sight. But he didn't shiver from fear, no he was shaking in rage. How dare they burn his home. Without thinking about it he disappeared.

A black vortex formed on one of the boats and formed a dome around the whole boat then it shrunk, leaving behind raging waves, filling the empty place where a boat and water once was. Then this event happened again and again. Until there was only one ship left. This ship was special, this ship had many prisoners and dead Scalerius who were to be butchered and sold as material and food.

Ragnar appeared on the ship, the light around him morphed and disappeared. The ship was slowly being chipped away. Plank after plank disappeared due to some weird aura.

As Ragnar was Rampaging a fist neared his face.
